Friction reduction by engine oil under low temperature as well as high temperature conditions are required because of the increasing number of hybrid vehicles where bulk oil temperature is low. Friction modifier (FM) technology to realize it is required. Friction performance of MoDTC, which works well at high temperature, used with adsorption type friction modifiers, which work well at low temperature, was investigated. Low molecular type, glycerol monooleate (GMO) inhibited friction reduction performance of MoDTC while polymer type FM showed little inhibition. Surface analysis indicated that the reaction film by MoDTC was not existed when the GMO was used together while it existed when it is used with polymer FM (PFM). The cause of the difference was studied by their adsorption performance examined by quartz crystal microbalance. GMO showed high adsorption density, while PFM showed low adsorption density compared to that of MoDTC. The result indicated that GMO competitively adsorbed on the surface, inhibiting the reaction film formation by MoDTC while polymer FM does not. The study indicated that use of the polymer FM with MoDTC is one of the solutions of FM design that works under both high and low temperature.

Bovine liposomal-encapsulated superoxide dismutase (L-SOD) which was developed by A. M. Michelson has overcome the pharmacobiochemical problems (disadvantages) of the injection of SOD preparations ; the very short life span of free SOD (6 min) was to considerable extent prolonged (6-7 hr), and weak fixation and penetration (permeability) to the membranes of target cells where oxygen radicals or lipid peroxides are exerting their harms. As previously reported by us, the injection (2.5 mg twice a week) of L-SOD was markedly effective in Kawasaki's disease (mucocutaneous lymph node syndrome), intestinal ulcer of Behçet's disease, Crohn's disease and colitis ulcerosa, and lung fibrosis of progressive systemic sclerosis (PSS) and polymyositis (dermatomyositis). In addition, severe rheumatoid arthritis (RA), Sjögren syndrome and other oxygen radical-or lipid peroxide-related diseases are improved by L-SOD injection. Recently, it has been further found that L-SOD (1.5 mg twice a week) is effective in liver cirrhosis, fibrosis induced by radiation, and schizophrenics. Acute paraquat toxicosis taken for the purpose of suicide which had been completely beyond the treatment was well treated with continuous drip infusion of L-SOD. Skin ulcer lesions were also in shorter period healed and keloid formation was prevented with L-SOD injection. However, not only other free SOD preparations but also L-SOD have various problems and questions in their pharmacologic and biochemical actions in the body to be solved or to be answered. In animal experiment, it was verified that SOD does not work dose-dependently, but the dosis over optimal concentration adversely stimulate and increase inflammation. It has been the great question why only a very small amount of enzyme (1.5 mg twice a week) actually and effectively prevents inflammation ; this dosis is 1/20 to 1/150 of the SOD which usually exists in each tissue or organ in the body. Next, it is also the great question why allogeneic (human) SOD is ineffective in the diseases while heterogeneic (bovine) SOD is effective. Although in part answered by us1, 7) and Michelson, why heterogeneic SOD has shown no severe allergy such as anaphylaxis? Further, regarding the clinical effectiveness of L-SOD in Behçet's disease, why L-SOD is ineffective in ocular type while it is dramatically effective in intestinal type? SOD preparations including L-SOD, although they seem to be actually recommendable for the various inflammatory diseases, there have been several problems to solved, and L-SOD is also still required to be improved, Additionally, it is not unlikely that allogeneic (human) SOD preparations are clinically effective in the diseases.

金属ベルト式CVT用潤滑油下で摩擦試験を行い,形成されたトライボフィルムの機械的特性を,ナノインデンテーション装置で測定した.加えて表面分析を行い,トライボフィルムの構成元素および膜厚さを測定した.トライボフィルムの機械的特性ならびに表面分析結果と摩擦現象との関係性について考察した結果を報告する.

Friction modifier (FM) technology to realize it are required. Friction performance of molybdenum dithiocarbamate (MoDTC) used with adsorption type FMs was investigated, which showed different results depending on types of adsorption type FMs: glycerol monooleate (GMO) inhibited friction reduction while polymer FM (PFM) did not. To understand the cause of the difference, the effect of reaction film formation by Zinc dithiophosphate (ZnDTP), which is crucial for the friction reduction by MoDTC, on adsorption type FMs was investigated. GMO inhibited the reaction film formation by ZnDTP, while PFM did not fully, observed with mini-traction machine spacer layer imaging (MTM-SLIM) and EPMA analysis. The cause was studied by their adsorption performance examined by quartz crystal microbalance (QCM). GMO showed higher adsorption density, while PFM showed lower compared to that of ZnDTP. The result indicated that GMO competitively adsorbed on the surface, inhibiting the reaction film formation by ZnDTP while polymer FM did not. Adsorption performance under co-existence of PFM and ZnDTP indicated that ZnDTP is capable to adsorb on the surface under the existence of PFM. The study indicated that the key to achieve low friction is to use PFM which does not fully inhibit ZnDTP reaction film formation.

我が国の調査では,長期入院統合失調症患者のうち20〜50%は退院意向を示さないとされ,厚生労働省は,「退院に向けた意欲の喚起」を強調している.本研究では,長期入院統合失調症患者の退院意向に関連する個人因子を明らかにする目的で,精神科病院に1年以上入院している統合失調症患者50名を対象に,退院意向質問紙,将来への否定的自己評価であるDefeatist Beliefsおよび陰性症状を横断的に評価した.その結果,Defeatist Beliefsは退院を示さない群において有意に重度で(p=0.001),交絡因子を含めても有意な関連が認められた(p=0.01).本結果により,退院意向を示さない統合失調症患者の退院への意欲喚起には,心理社会的介入の重要性が示唆された.

The attitudes towards adzuki beans and adzuki bean-based food was analyzed through an online survey targeted at Japanese consumers. 300 samples were collected, and the results were compared with the images of other beans.Compared to soy beans, almonds or walnuts, the healthful image of adzuki beans was not well recognized. In regards to nutritional function, the adzuki bean was underestimated despite its useful nutritional content such as polyphenol, dietary fibers and proteins. The results seem to be affected by the “sweet snack” image of adzuki bean paste, the most popular adzuki bean-based food in Japan.In conclusion, this survey suggests that an innovative adzuki bean-based food, a non-sweet snack for example, may be required in order to raise the healthful image of adzuki beans. Further, the key consumers of such a food could be middle-aged women, who tend to have a stronger interest in healthful food.

スリップフォーム工法は,塔状のコンクリート構造物を造る工法であり,西欧では古くから行われている。日本においては,比較的新しいものであり,この工法による構築物も超高煙突,給水塔,サイロなど円形断面で形状が比較的単純なものが多い。本石崎無線塔は,鉄筋コンクリート造の無線塔で,形状が変断面角形のユニークなものとなっている。本報告は,この世界でも稀な形状をもつ角形無線塔の,設計概要,スリップフォームエ法(シミズフレクスリップシステム)による塔体の施工,及びプラットフォームの施工について述べたものである。

ロタウイルス感染に伴う急性脳症を2例経験した。<br>〔症例1〕2歳11か月の女児で全身強直間代性けいれんで発症した。人工呼吸管理まで要したが,後遺症なく回復した。<br>〔症例2〕2歳2か月の女児で不機嫌状態が遷延し,脳波の徐波化,頭部MRIで小脳に異常信号を認めた。運動機能は回復したが,高次脳機能と軽度の小脳症状が残った。<br> ロタウイルスによる脳症には,けいれん発作主体のものだけでなく,小脳に主病変を示すタイプがある。前者は診断・治療とも他のウイルス性急性脳症に準ずることで大きな問題はないが,後者は早期診断に苦慮することもあり,また,有効な治療法も確立されていない。
