フランスのショーズ原子力発電所にニュートリノ検出器を建設し、原子炉ニュートリノにより第3のニュートリノ振動を確認し、θ13と呼ばれるニュートリノ混合角の測定を様々な解析方法で行った.(ダブルショー実験)これにより、ニュートリノ振動角が全て決定され、ニュートリノ振動によるCP非保存やニュートリノの質量階層性の測定に道を拓き、ニュートリノ物理の新展開を導いた.また、質量二乗差(Δm^2_<31>)を原子炉ニュートリノ振動の距離依存性の解析から世界で初めて測定した.

We identified 21 rotaviruses in 129 patients with diarrhea in a Brazilian city with high rotavirus vaccine coverage. All rotaviruses were genotype P[4]G2 with 1 mixed infection with P[NT]G9. Although virus predominance could have occurred randomly, the vaccine may be less protective against P[4]G2. Prospective surveillance is urgently needed.

The purpose of this study was to inspect how the factor structure of punishment feelings differs, depending on the perpetrator of a crime (i.e., whether the person is a juvenile or an adult) and the difference in feelings between varying generations. A factor analysis of data obtained from approximately 2,000 people, ranging in age from 10 years through to over 60 years supported that four factors model for feelings on adult crime, and three factors model for feelings on juvenile delinquency. In addition, it was shown that the factor structure of punishment feelings varied greatly, according to generation.

The objective of the study was to examine changes of intraocular pressure (IOP) undergoing anesthesia in Rhesus Macaques (Macaca mulatta) with Laser-induced Ocular Hypertension. Twenty male rhesus macaques (hypertensive glaucoma eye in OD; normal eye in OS) between 6 and 20 years of age were used for the study. The monkeys were anesthetized with ketamine hydrochloride (10 mg/kg intramuscularly) and 1% isoflurane and then IOP in both eyes was measured by a single investigator using a calibrated TonopenTM applanation tonometer (Mentor, Norwell, MA, U.S.A.). The mean IOP with ketamine anesthesia was 36.70 ± 12.04 (right eye: OD) and 15.88 ± 2.84 (left eye: OS). The mean IOP with isoflurane anesthesia was 19.98 ± 6.67 (right eye: OD) and 15.32 ± 2.15 (left eye: OS). Undergoing isoflurane anesthesia, the IOP of OD was significantly decreased. Conclusively, careful examination of IOP is required to prevent unexpected contraindication on glaucoma patient with isoflurane anesthesia.

This study is conducted in order to examine the inter-provincial per capita GRP (Gross Regional Product) disparities in Indonesia under the NEG (New Economic Geography) framework. The coefficient of variation shows that the disparities are decreasing in the periodof 1993-1997 and increasing in the period of 1998-2004. On the basis of the disparities trends, those two different periods are examined in our analysis. By utilizing wage equation which developed by Fujita, et al.(1999)we make use of panel data analysis in estimating the role of domestic market access, foreign market access, urbanization and human capital on interprovincial per capita GRP. The findings suggest that domestic market access, foreign marketaccess and human capital play important roles on inter-provincial per capita GRP disparities, while urbanization shows reverse role because of excess of urban labor.

In most scientific fields, significant improvements have been made in terms of data sharing among scientists and researchers. Although there are clear benefits to data sharing, there is at least one field where this norm has yet to be developed: the behavioural sciences. In this paper, we propose an innovative methodology as a means to change existing norms within the behavioral sciences and move towards increased data sharing. Based on recent advances in social psychology (e.g., Taylor & de la Sablonnière, 2011), we theorize that a Survey Research Instrument that takes into account basic psychological processes can be effective in promoting data sharing norms.

本研究では制御性T細胞(Treg)分化と機能発現に関わる抗原特異性とTCRレパトワを解明することを目的とし、Treg由来核移植ES細胞クローン1D2から樹立した1D2-TCRβマウスを用いて以下の研究を行った。(1)Treg由来TCRの特異性の解析:1D2クローンがTreg由来であることを証明してその特異性を明らかにするためにRAG欠損マウスの骨髄細胞に1D2 αβTCRを発現させるレトロウィルスを感染させ、これを放射線照射したRAG欠損マウスに移入してTreg分化を解析した。その結果、この1D2 αβTCRを発現する細胞から確かにFoxp3+ T細胞が分化することを見出し、このクローンがTreg由来であることを明らかにした。(2)Tregおよびaborted TregのTCRレパトワ解析:最近我々は、Treg分化の過程で一部のFoxp3+ T細胞がFoxp3発現を失ってヘルパーT細胞へと分化する可塑性を示すステージがあることを見出し、このような細胞をaborted Tregと名付けた。Tregとaborted Tregの関係、そしてそれらの特異性を明らかにするために、1D2-TCRβマウスにFoxp3^<EGFPCre>, ROSA26^<RFP>, TCRCα+/- allelesを交配により導入し、ここからTreg(EGFP+), aborted Treg (EGFP-RFP+), non-Treg (EGFP-RFP-)を単離してVαレパトワを解析した。その結果、これらのレパトワは多少の重なりはあるものの全体として異なっており、ある特定の特異性を持ったFoxp3^+ T細胞のみがTreg分化においてabortされることを見出した。

Three new flavonoid derivatives, 6′′′-O-acetyl amurensin (1), 6′′′-O-acetyl phellamurin (3) and (2R)-phellodensin-F (5), together with thirty known compounds have been isolated from the leaves of Phellodendron japonicum MAXIM. Their structures were established by means of spectroscopic analysis, including extensive 2D NMR and Mass spectra. The known compounds were identified by comparison with published physical and spectral data. The isolated compounds were screened for their in vitro antioxidant activity through DPPH (1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl) radical scavenging assay. Compounds quercetin and phellodenin-A demonstrated significant radical scavenging activity.
