シスルトン・ダイアーの『シェイクスピアのフォークロア』は、シェイクスピア作品を民俗学の視点から解明した画期的な論考であり、その背景に織り込まれた民俗伝承を研究した先駆的業績である。第7章においては、鳥類を除く様々な動物にまつわる興味深い伝承や俗信が紹介されており、ここに訳出した(その1)では、サルからゾウまでが扱われている。西欧古典やキリスト教伝説などが引用され、古代人の風俗なども紹介されており、大変に興味深い内容である。

カリーの本論文は『マクベス』の魔女とは何かを端緒として、エリザベス朝において激烈な論争となっていた神、悪魔、亡霊、魔女などの意味を、キリスト教神学ならびに新プラトン主義を核にして辿ったものである。魔女は民間信仰にとどまらず、古代異教の神の変容であり、新プラトン主義の流出宇宙論に由来するダイモーンに連なる。神学的背景から見た悪の形而上的な世界の意味が、多くの文献に依拠して、詳細に解明されている。

筆者クウィラ=クーチは、『ヴェニスの商人』のテキスト、材源、モチーフ、ユダヤ人問題、アントーニオ、ヴェネツィアの性格、バッサーニオ、バッサーニオの友人、ポーシャ、劇の結末などについて詳細な分析を行っている。材源の改変によって、ポーシャの性格が大きく変わる。また、マーロウの『マルタ島のユダヤ人』のバラバスと比較してシャイロックの特性を考察し、この劇を実に多面的に分析していて見事である。

本論文では、実相寺プロダクションとATGが共同制作した、石堂淑朗脚本、実相寺昭雄監督の3本の映画について論じ、作家と監督の葛藤について詳しく論じる。 その際、彼らがこだわった「無明」という言葉に着目し、3本の映画を分析した。 ハーマン・メルヴィルの短編小説「BARTLEBY, The Scrivener」をめぐる石堂と実相寺の対立も詳しく分析した。 石堂淑朗と実相寺昭雄の「知っていても止められない心」が、彼らにとっての「無明」の在り方であることを分析して明らかにした。 また「無明」という言葉が、バートルビーの「私はしたくない」という言葉につながる過程を詳しく分析した。 その過程で、石堂と実相寺の問題の本質を指摘した。その本質を巡って、石堂は「古来より続いてきた民俗の血統が未だ解明されていない」という問題を主張し、実相寺は「引揚者であることの汚名」を主張している、と指摘することができた。 彼らの最後の作品である「歌」では、両方の問題が融合し、昇華されたことを明らかにした。

It is pointed out that group learning can foster learners' sociability and enhance their learning motivation. In physical education classes, these effects can be expected by setting an appropriate tasks to carry out in a group. In the case of judo lessons, Maemawariukemi is more technically difficult than Usiroukemi and Yokoukemi. Therefore, the speed to acquire the skill, Maemawariukemi, varies from individual to individual. The purpose of this study is to examine the effects of group learning as an active learning method to learn Maemawariukemi.

Artificial Intelligence (AI) has been developing rapidly last few years. This development influences the way to work in engineering deeply. However, the technologies of AI also have lots of ethical problems. In this paper, we argue that engineering ethics should deal with the ethical problems with AI. We focus on the following AI ethical problems. First, AI leads to a significant change in the way of our lives. Secondly, AI has the problems of product liability seriously. Thirdly, AI technology arises copyright problem or concern derived from the concept “strong AI”.

Abstract: In the era of emerging the new kind of infectious disease, COVID-19, we have somehow been governing the dormitory of NIT, Kisarazu College, with the anti-COVID-19 measures. Also, two-year major renovation works have started since 2020, which made us consider various strategies for students’ leading daily life safely as well. This paper reports the two-year record of how we have effectively been managing the dorm.

Tsutsui Ushitaro was an Engineer of Taiwan Governor-General Office over 20 years. Graduating from high school in Japan, he worked in the office for building the port of Keelung and Takao. From 1922 to 1930, he was a chief engineer of Chianan Irrigation System. Though he is unknown in Taiwan and Japan now, his achievement to the construction was big.

This paper shows a construction and operations of high performance computing servers. The servers which introduced in 2013 were funded in a revised national budget. This server system contains computing servers which contain many-core processors, a general purpose server which has very large scale memory, and a high speed file server. They are connected by 1 or 10 Gbps high speed networks. This server system can provide very effective computational environment, and is very useful for research and education.

This paper is about the citizen interaction library nurtured in the community. In the liberal arts of Kisarazu National College of Technology, we value "the third place" that is not a school at home. As an attempt, we made a citizen interaction library, and named it "Minamachi Library". "The Minamachi Library" is made up of books donated by community residents. We, as well as to introduce towards the society this activity, Citizen interaction library as a commons, to discuss further development.

In this paper, a very simple boost converter for solar cells made quasi MPPT ( Maximum Power Point Tracking ) is proposed. This simple boost converter is constituted by typical parts ( a reactance, a semiconductor switch and a capacitor ), a transformer and a triangle wave oscillator. The characteristics of the proposed boost converter are confirmed by the LTSpice simulation.

In this paper, a micro-computer development system for H8/3052F is presented. This system includes some development tools: cross-assembler, cross-C compiler, cross-debugger, standard libraries, start-up routine, scripts for linking and S-format down-loader. This system is currently used in subjects of computer science laboratory.

Picture dictionaries are thought to be only for children. With their beautiful and colorful pictures, they can tell children many things around their world in simple, plain and vivid English. They help children of native speakers of English learn how to use and spell words of their mother tongue in their lives. I believe what is useful to children can also be useful to students learning English as foreign language. Not ignoring picture dictionaries as materials only for children, we should think about their usefulness as materials for learning vocabulary. In this paper, I put focus on expressive adjectives in picture dictionaries because we use them most to express our feeling toward things, events and people around us. It is adjectives that are most expressive and helpful in expressing our feeling and emotion, which might be a staring point of improving our students' communicative competence. What I wish to show here is picture dictionaries for primary school children include more expressive adjectives than word lists for students learning English as foreign language and could be of more help to our students who are in most cases too shy to say anything about their feeling.

「グラフ」とは、数個の「頂点」と数本の「辺」(2頂点を端点とする線分)から成る図形のことである。グラフを平面上に描いた図のうちで、自己交差がない図を「平面グラフ」と呼ぶ。一般に、頂点の個数に比べて辺の本数が多過ぎるグラフは平面グラフをもたない。平面グラフをもつグラフを「平面的グラフ」と呼ぶ。各辺の図が直線分である平面グラフを「直線的平面グラフ」と呼ぶ。1948年にFaryは次の定理を証明した:「任意の平面的グラフの任意の平面グラフは、直線的平面グラフに平面上で辺を交差させることなく変形できる。」 グラフを平面上に描いた図の中で、曲線分と一致する部分をそのグラフの「道」と呼ぶ。道は、ちょうど1本の辺に接続している頂点を2個だけもち、その他の頂点はちょうど2本の辺と接続している部分グラフである。Faryの定理を拡張して、次の問題が考えられる:「任意の平面的グラフと任意の数本の道に対して、その平面的グラフの任意の平面グラフが、それら数本の道がすべて直線分である直線的平面グラフに平面上で辺を交差させることなく変形できるための必要十分条件を求めよ。」 グラフを平面上に描いた図の中で、閉曲線と一致する部分をそのグラフの「閉路」と呼ぶ。閉路は、すべての頂点がちょうど2本の辺と接続している部分グラフである。閉路を含まない連結グラフを「木」と呼ぶ。木は平面的グラフである。上述のFaryの定理の拡張問題を一般の平面的グラフについて解決することは難しい。本論文では、木についてFaryの定理の拡張問題を解決した。

We have developed the creating and manufacturing contents for elementary school students to convey the attractiveness of mechanical engineering. In last year, we have developed the content related to fluid dynamics. The participants made a special model glider which was like "winged seed". In this year, we have developed the content using shape memory alloy. We demonstrated the unique properties of the shape memory alloy and then the participants made the strap of the shape memory alloy in the content.

We sometimes meet students who say "I do not know what I want to do." How to guide them was discussed. The confusion of confidence in ability with confidence in existence makes students misunderstand that career development is not important. We should encourage students in their confidence in existence, but we must make them face with realism of their ability. Personal life design can not be managed by objectives such as enterprise activities, because a life is affected by too many factors beyond human knowledge. Students should keep making daily efforts towards such a short range goal as several years. And they are recommended to imagine occasionally a dream of long future. Two factors are important for students to find well a short range goal. One is appropriate proceeding of hierarchy of needs, and the other is the awareness of one's own emotion.

小説は事実と虚構のモザイクだと言われる.事実はあくまで事実に終わるが,虚構は限りなく事実に近づくことができる.作品に reality を持たせるためには,モザイクの中の事実の適切な配置によって,虚構は限りなく事実に近づくのではなかろうか。十八世紀英国の骨董家具を題材とした Person's Pleasure (牧師の道楽)を中心に,ダールの小説作法の一端に触れてみたい.

シスルトン・ダイアーの『シェイクスピアのフォークロア』は、シェイクスピア作品を民俗学の視点から解明した画期的な論考であり、劇の背景に織り込まれた民族伝承を研究した先駆的業績である。第2章では16世紀から17世紀にかけて盛んだった魔女信仰が取り上げられている。ジェイムズ一世が魔術に関心を持っていたこともあり、シェイクスピアは『マクベス』やその他で魔女を扱っているが、本論は魔女信仰の背景を詳述している。

シスルトン・ダイアーの『シェイクスピアのフォークロア』は、シェイクスピア作品を民俗学の視点から解明した画期的な論考であり、劇の背景に織り込まれた民族伝承を研究した先駆的業績である。第3章では亡霊を扱っているが、イギリスでは亡霊に対する関心が特に深く、民間伝承や文学作品に多く登場する。『ハムレット』の父の亡霊は有名だが、シェイクスピアはその他の劇に亡霊を登場させている。また、『十二夜』では霊魂輪廻説も述べられている。
