This paper proposes a new method for progressively leading the solution of the ZMP equation by exploiting smoothing with the particle filter. The advantages of this method are high connectivity, wide variations of trajectories and nonlinearity. And we show three numerical experiments in order to test proposed method.

When a rocket is launched by a rail launcher, the rocket receives tip-off angular velocity caused by the moment due to engagement of the tail hanger of the rocket on the rail after clearance of rocket C.G. from the tip of the rail. This paper analyses one occasion, when small test rocket launched from a rail launcher experienced unexpected large pitch-down tip-off angular velocity. The rocket had two hangers, one of which was constrained by a detent mechanism prior to launch. When the rocket motor was fired, detent action caused torsional deflection of the shaft, which supported teh rail launcher. When the hangers got free, the shaft started oscillatory motion, which amplified the tip-off angular velocity of the rocket. Analysis of the dynamics of the rail launcher and the rocket was performed and numerical calculation was made to simulate the tip-off velocity. Measures for improvement were summarized.

In this paper, the relation between the longitudinal acceleration and the changes in attitude were studied. to define the criteria of riding quality of standing passengers on railway vehicle. In the front report, we reported that longitudinal acceleration, pressure distribution on the sole and move distance of body were measured in the field running tests. In this report, analyzed data about the field running test are shown. And, it is cleared that the center of gravity of the load which depends on the sole are good criteria for changes in attitude of the standing passengers by the data obtained by the stationary ramp equipment.

This study was bursting test of lithium-ion battery using small satellite by overcharge. As a result, the lithium-ion battery exploded by overcharge and confirmed that a flame occurred. The temperature at the time of the bursting was measured, and it was around 150 degrees Celsius. As for the collection fragments, it was measured dimensions, and the distribution of the collection fragments was provided.

In this report, a short history and outline of wooden four wheel third class coach built by the Kokura works of Kyushu Railway Company in Fukuoka Prefecture will be explained. This wooden coach was constructed in 1897 and German-made; Van der Zypen & Charlier, same type coach became an example of it. Domestic-made this coach has been preserved at the Kyushu Railway Museum, Kitakyushu-city from 2004. Contents of this report are as follows. 1) A short history and outline of this domestic-made wooden four wheel third class coach. 2) Results of field study and relational analysis on the preserved two wooden four wheel coaches. 3) Significance on the history of technology of this wooden coach and conclusion of this report.

This paper reports on the analysis of the characteristics for each position in curling based on shot-scores. We computed average shot-scores for each position using 14 game information about college-top level teams, and analyzed the correlation between the differences of average shot-scores and the differences of final game scores. The results show that strong correlations appeared on the results of the lead positions and the fourth position, and no correlation for second position and third relates to the game progress. There is possibility to predict game results and game progress based on short-score for each position.

論文要旨 : 21世紀の超高齢化社会の到来に備えて日本福祉大学では数年前から高齢者用食事支援ロボットの研究に着手してきた。このロボットは在宅老-老介護、福祉センターからの遠隔操作によってリアルタイムで食事支援できるシステムの構築をめざしている。本研究では、このロボットのデザインする際のコンセプト・背景、および遠隔制御する場合のシステム設計について検討したのでその結果などについて述べている。

Impact characteristics of a cue in billiards are evaluated numerically by developing a simple method. It is assumed that the cue and ball are elastic and rigid, respectively. The displacement of the cue is evaluated by the finite element method and that of the ball is calculated by solving the equation of motion. The time variation of impact force is estimated by equating these displacements at contact point. The accuracy of the analysis is checked by performing a detailed finite element analysis and an experiment, in which a freely supported cue is hit with a swinging ball. It is shown that (1) the impact force and the ball velocity increase with increase in the stiffness of the shaft, (2) the contact period decreases with increase in the stress wave velocity in the cue, (3) with increase in the stiffness of the tap, the impact force rises rapidly, reaches a large maximum value and falls in a short time (4) the ratio of slip to rotation of a ball during the contact period increases with increase in the stiffness of the shaft and the tap and (5) a peak appears in the time variation of impact force for a soft shaft due to the metal screw in the middle of the shaft.

The body temperatures of anesthetized patients under going operations decrease gradually because control of the body temperature is suppressed and the temperature of the operating room is kept lower than the body temperature. In order to prevent a patient's body temperature from lowering during an operation, a mat with hot-water circulation is often used. However, it has been reported that burn injuries occasionally occur in such cases, even when no defect in temperature setting and control of the mat is found. The mechanism causing this burn injury has not been determined. This report analyzes the heat transfer of a body-mat system simulated by a simplified model to examine the possibility and mechanism of such burn injuries. The analysis discusses the effects of hot-water flow rates, hot-water temperature and metabolic heat generation on body temperature. It is found that burn injury can occur, particularly in the high metabolic state, when heat transfer by the blood flow is negligible and the rate of water flowing into the mat is reduced considerably.

An activated carbon with high micro and mesoporosity, as well as a high bulk density, was fabricated by activating the extrusion-molded precursor made from carbonized rice husk (RH) and beet sugar (BS) at 850℃ in CO_2. The pore structure of this RH-based activated carbon (RHAC) was analyzed in relation to the bulk density. The extrusion molding and the use of BS syrup were useful to attain those superior properties. RHAC which was first activated for 1 h was immersed again in the BS syrup and then activated in CO_2 for 2 h. This two-step activation process provided both a high bulk density (0.93 g/cm^3) and a highly textured structure (micropore volume: 0.29 cm^3/g, mesopore volume:0.19 cm^3/g, BET specific surface area: 844 m^2/g).
