ロボットの上部下向きに取付けたカメラの画像を用いた自律型移動ロボットの狭所通り抜け走行技術について報告する。ロボットは, 直径約30cmの円柱形で, 狭所の距離を把握するため, その上部に設けた柱の先端に, 下向きにCCDカメラを搭載している。色の異なる2本の柱ではさまれた, ロボットの横幅よりもわずかに広い空間において, このロボットを衝突せずに通過させる技術を開発した。実際に隙間が約40cmの青い柱と赤い柱の環境を用意し, 実機実験により本技術の有効性を確認した。本稿ではその狭所通り抜け手法について示す。

A winglet is one of the wing-tip plates to prevent the formation of wing-tip vortices which cause a decrease of Cl (Lift Coefficient) / Cd (Drag Coefficient). The ground effect causes an increase of Cl/Cd of airfoils in proximity to the ground. Therefore, the winglets and the ground effect have the same function. Birdman's glider or WIG (wing in ground) use both of them. Aerodynamics characteristics of the winglets in the ground effect are, however, not well-known. The purpose of this paper is to study the optimum design of winglets in the ground effect by computational fluid dynamics. In concluding, the best angle is a dihedral angle of 45 degrees for winglets in ground effect.

The amount of woody biomass resources in Aichi Prefecture and Toyone Village was estimated on the basis of theoretical and actual production efficiencies. Five factors should be considered at the steady production of reduced carbon from carbon dioxide by sunlight in woods. The ratio of leaf to forest area, the reflection of sunlight on leaf surface, the conversion efficiency from the light energy, efficiency of optical system, and of dark reaction are 0.70, 0.82, 0.24, 0.31, and 0.92 respectively. On the other hand, four factors are in the timber production stage. The energy consumption loss for the daily life of woods, the waste at the forest, the thinner woods to main cutting production, and the thinning are 0.50, 0.47, 0.435, 0.44, respectively. The total efficiency was calculated and the result was 0.0023. Furthermore, near fiscal year 2000, primary energy consumption in Aichi Prefecture is 1.48×10^9 GJ/year, so it is 2200 times than the present production amount and 300 times the best theoretical production amount.

血液における炭酸ガス拡散係数は,人工肺のガス交換性能を評価するために必要であるが,実測値が全くない.そこで,静止血液試料層を用い,準定常法により炭酸ガスの有効拡散係数を測定した.温度の下降および赤血球濃度,血しょう(漿)たん白濃度の増加とともに,拡散係数が低下する結果を得た.さらに,赤血球内の炭酸脱水酵素の効果により,溶血した血液およびヘモグロビン溶液において顕著な促進拡散が認められた.

The environment where Japanese industry has been paid with respect is changing tremendously due to the globalization of economics, where Asian countries are undergoing economical and technical development as well as advancing in information technology. With acceleration of manufacturing bases relocating abroad, industrial hollowing out is happening; hence effort to transfer the technology and the design knowledge of machine design in a company is becoming an important subject. For example, in the design of custom casting product, a designer who is lack of casting knowledge may not be able to produce a good design. In order to obtain a good design and manufacturing, it is necessary to equip the designer and manufacturer with a support system related to casting process or so called, knowledge transfer and creation system. This paper proposes a new knowledge transfer and creation system for manufacturing technology; where machine design, which requires added values such as advanced technology, high quality, short delivery time, is taken as an example and both its explicit and tacit knowledge are cooperated by using synchronized multimedia and immersive virtual environment.

Many Bourdon tubes consist of the curved tube of an elliptical or flat-oval cross section. But to date, practically satisfactory formulas for the elliptical Bourdon tubes have not been made. In this paper, Bourdon tubes of the two-circular-arc cross section are analysed on the basis of Wolf's theory, and the practical formulas are derived for the calculation of sensitivities, stresses and torques of Bourdon tubes. If the ratio of two circular-arc radii is chosen properly, this cross section represents the flat-oval, approximately elliptical or guitar shape. For practical purposes, theoretical results for Bourdon tubes of approximately elliptical cross section are presented in curves. The theoretical predictions show agreement with many experimental results reported by H.L. Mason. Also the sensitivities, stresses and torques obtained for the flat-oval Bourdon tubes are theoretically compared with those for the approximately elliptical Bourdon tubes respectively.

In next century, a great deal of energy is used for pablic life in this coutry. This paper describes two new very small reactors for thermal heat supply to pulic use, such as air-conditioning and hot water. These reactor are characterized by the high safety, the long life fuel and the excellent cost performance. The reactor is an integrated and natural circulated PWR with passive safety systems. The reactor is designed with simple structure and enough isolation efficiency to be installed in the deep underground or settled on the base floor of a office building in a large city.
