箱根駅伝予選会では,出場校は出走選手12名中上位10名の合計タイムを競い,上位9校(ないしは10校)が予選通過となる.本稿では,各選手のタイムが独立な正規分布に従うという前提の下で,各校のレースタイムの確率分布,予選通過タイムの確率分布ならびに各校の予選通過確率を求めるための計算方法を提案する.数値例として,第88回箱根駅伝予選会のデータを基に,選手のタイムの標準偏差を設定したときの,予選通過タイムや各校の予選通過確率の計算結果を示すとともに,選手個々が予選通過に与える影響についても言及する.

記録系・採点系・格闘技系五輪競技として、陸上(リレー競技) ・体操・柔道を主な対象とし、競技をシステムして捉えて定式化する数学モデリングを行った。リレー競技については、合計タイムの確率分布を算出するモデル、体操については、団体戦での総合得点の確率分布を算出するモデル、柔道については、団体戦でのチーム・選手を相対評価する AHP (Analytic Hierarchy Process)を用いたモデルを作成した。指導者の意見を反映し競技現場で適用可能な数学モデルを提示することができた。

This study sought to clarify the impact of game format differences on goalkeeper play through a comparative examination of goalkeeper play in games of 8-a-side soccer in Japan and 7-a-side soccer in Catalonia, Spain, two formats used respectively in each region in competitions for players aged 12 years and under. At the same time, it offers a discussion of future approaches to goalkeeper coaching.     This led to clarification of the following:     1) Given that goalkeepers in both countries take the offensive more frequently in game formats with fewer players, such formats appear to be effective for promoting offensive plays by goalkeepers.     2) When the goalkeeper is in possession of the ball, whereas Japanese players have a strong tendency to choose long kicks such as side volleys, Spanish players have a strong tendency to elect to throw the ball to attempt a more reliable relay.     3) Spanish goalkeepers have a strong tendency to be involved in build-up play with passes and support.     4) On goal kicks, whereas Japanese players have a strong tendency to choose long kicks, Spanish goalkeepers have a strong tendency to make short passes to teammates who are in a position to advance the ball.     5) In terms of goalkeeper defense, whereas Japanese players stop fewer shots and make more plays to cover the space behind the defense line, Spanish players stop more shots and make fewer plays to cover the space behind the defense line.

本稿ではプロ野球の投手の評価を例としてDEAについて概説する.最も簡単な1入力1出力についてCCRモデルとBCCモデルの違いを説明した後,4入力2出力のBCCモデルを用いて投手の多角的な評価を行う.DEAを用いた分析の仕方を身近な野球の事例を通して紹介することで,DEAの有用性を直観していただければ幸いである.

In this paper, we propose a mathematical approach to select line-ups of a baseball team using DEA(data envelopment analysis). We apply DEA to evaluate baseball players from the view point of uniqueness,and show the evaluation of players by means of DEA efficiency together with SI (scoring index),a measure of batting ability. Further, we evaluate line-ups by the number of the DEA effective players and the expected runs scored in a game by the line-up. We illustrate this method using the candidates of Japan national baseball team for the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games, and demonstrate how this approach may help to select the line-ups, by showing the concrete line-ups with the expected runs scored and the number of effective players.

DEAにおける理論と応用の両面からの展開とその融合研究を行った。ネットワークDEAや不確実性下のDEA、評価指標の開発などの理論的貢献とこれらの成果の多様な分野への適用による事例研究における応用面での貢献を得ることができた。さらに、国際シンポジウムの開催や外国人研究者の招へいなどによる国際交流の活性化および国内におけるDEA研究の中心的役割を果たすことができた。
