The purpose of this study is to clarify the concerns for the living environment among residents and people who are considering to purchase the new housings. The paper discussed the nature and exclusivity of people’s unique behavior in relation to the living environment of Tokyo, based on the following three points of analysis; 1) Concern for the living environment in Tokyo wards area, 2) Geographical characters of the concerns, 3) Background of the formation of concerns and discussions.

The purpose of this project is to examine the transformation of shrines that have progressed with re-urbanization and to discuss the issues of shrines at the turning point by clarifying the spatial change and development process through a survey of shrines that have been developed under the initiative of the private sector in Tokyo ward area. Through the research, it was clarified that the shrines have progressed due to the unique development, changes in visitors’ behavior, and the creation of new value. On the contrary, the relationship between the various powers surrounding the shrine was found to be unbalanced.

This research focuses on the Defensive Architecture(DA), which prevents people from staying in public spaces, and collects and categorizes them through workshops. The first WS revealed the presence of 21 different DAs. The second WS defined the “depth of nonrecognition” and the 21 DAs were divided into 6 stages. Furthermore, the field survey revealed that there are three types of Defensive Environments with spatial extents in which multiple DAs act to alienate squatters. The study of “Defensive Architecture” is a good clue for us to think about how to use public space.

This paper alms to clear the present situation and problem of the signboards set up along Tokaido-Shinkansen between Tokyo and Shin-Osaka. The conclusions in this paper are as follows ; 1) A large number of signboards set up along the Shinkansen on the outskirts of the big city. And they are not in good condition on the landscape. 2) The social consensus has to be against setting up them. 3) The local governments have to pull down illegal signboards positively. 4) The sponsors have to take moral principles responsibility for their own signboards. 5) The advertising agency union has to keep under selfcontrol of setting up them.

In Akihabara, where various specialty stores accumulate, people gather searching for limited and rare products and exchange them to share their hobbies and interests outside the store, forming a kind of public sphere. This paper clarifies the mechanism of forming "the place for exchanges of goods". To grasp this mechanism that are common in the outdoor space of Akihabara is also important in considering the value of downtown, which used to be discussed with words "bustle" and was not considered its social meaning.  1) Geographical characteristics of group staying behavior on the street By patrolling Akihabara district, the distribution of places for exchanges of goods on the street was clarified from the wide-area viewpoint. Through this survey 12 locations were extracted where "appreciation and exchange" activities were concentrated, and from these locations it became clear that place for exchanges of goods tend to be formed in the near ground where manga, anime, and game content is sold.  2) Behavior and spatial transformation of places for exchanges of goods From the fixed-point observation investigation, the change of the range in which space for exchanges of goods forms and the change of the behavior were analyzed. As a result, special characters of places where exchanges of goods are likely to happen were grasped from a microscopic viewpoint. It has become clear that place for exchanges of goods occurs avoiding the flow of people. It was also confirmed that the larger the number of members, the more they stayed in the environment surrounded by street objects.  3) Behavioral psychology of people who form places for exchanges of goods Hearing investigation clarified what kind of behavioral psychology were seen behind forming the places for exchanges of goods, and what kind of actions were done for making their own place on the street. As a result, two types of actions were identified: "exchange of goods" and "exchange of information". It was confirmed that places for exchanges of goods occurs not only in search of a consensus of interests, but also in search of mutual empathy through the exchange of information in which people can deepen their knowledge of hobbies and preferences. It also became clear that they formed or joined in places for exchanges of goods with 9 kinds of behavioral psychology.

In Japan, during the post-war reconstruction and the period of high economic growth, land use prioritized short-term economy and efficiency. As a result, urban space has been fragmented by the incessant insertion of landscapes devoid of connection with others, greatly undermining the meaning and richness of the spatial experience. As a new means of landscape formation in such urban spaces, there is a demand for a perspective on the "Lifescape" that is unconsciously generated in our daily lives. In this study, we define "Nameless Landscapes" as unobtrusive and unnamed landscapes that are not eye-catching landscapes such as landmarks and historical monuments, but rather familiar living environments and activities in them, and focus on their value and approach the real picture. The "Nameless Landscape" , that is unconsciously created in our daily lives and whose value is difficult for the people themselves to recognize and evaluate, is analyzed from the perspective of a "stranger = traveler". This study targets Korean repeat tourists who have stayed in Tokyo under the hypothesis that repeat tourists have an excellent eye for the "Nameless Landscape" through multiple experiences. By analyzing the process of discovering and interpreting "Nameless Landscapes" , including social aspects of life and culture, this study aims to clarify the structure of the semantic interpretation that appears between the landscape and the foreign traveler (hereinafter, this is called "observer") and the nature, the value of the "Nameless landscapes" . The main results obtained are as follows: 1) When an observer perceives a landscape, he or she first momentarily draws out prior knowledge related to the object from the knowledge stores within the self in an instant, and then "interprets" the meaning of the object being viewed by combining such knowledge with the visual information of the landscape. Interpretation means capturing the invisible elements of the landscape as information, such as the context and localities that it possesses. Through interpretation, the landscape is contextualized and a 'depth' of meaning is brought to it. The "Nameless Landscape" as interpreted by the observer is stored and accumulated as new knowledge, sometimes accompanied by "knowledge updates" such as reinforcement or overwriting of prior knowledge. 2) A "structural model of semantic interpretation" was derived that appears between the "Nameless Landscape" and the observer. This indicates that the landscape as fragmentary information becomes "three-dimensional" as it is given meaning by the observer, and the process of establishing it as a "landscape" is also a process of "knowledge circulation" that involves the knowledge of information. 3) It is considered that the "Nameless Landscape" that emerges endogenously from the local environment and requires a conscious interpretation by the observer is particularly strong in the above characteristics, and the experience of the "Nameless Landscape" can be found to be valuable as an opportunity for the observer to "learn" and cultivate his or her observational eyes.

昨今我が国を含めた先進諸国においては、社会の成熟とともに知識重視社会に向かいつつあり、教育インフラの重要性が高まっている。本研究では、サードプレイスで学習をする都市生活者を調査・分析したところ、以下の3点が結果として明らかになった。1)サードプレイスで学習する際の意思決定プロセスには、「学習を目的として場所を選択する場合」と「場所を選択する事を目的とする場合」の2種類がある。居住地や就学先周辺では、前者が多くみられた。2)サードプレイスで学習する理由には、物的な側面の動機と心的な側面の動機がある。このうち、心的な動機は、学習意欲に対して強い影響を与えている。3)サードプレイスで学習する人は「人がいる」「一人になれる」という2つの対極的な欲求を持っている。それを満たし、かつ求める物的環境の快適性を有する場所として、サードプレイスが利用されていた。以上のようにサードプレイスは都市における学習場所として価値を有していた。

平成の大合併を経て、行政区域が広がりつつあるなか、地域住民が地域の課題解決のために自律的に集まり、行動していくような住民自治の在り方が模索されている。そして、このような住民の自治的な行動を考える上では、地域共有の場となり得る空間は重要な意味を持つ。本稿では、村櫛酒販売所を対象として、コミュニティ財の運用と情報交流の仕組みに着目し、地域共有の場としての酒場の機能を明らかにする。そのうえで、住民自ら地域共有の場を経営していく知見を得ることを目的とし、コミュニティ財の運用の蓄積によって「酒場」が地域住民に浸透してきたこと、および「酒場」における情報交流の仕組みを明らかにした。そのうえで、住民自ら地域共有の場を経営していく可能性を考察する。

<p> Edward Relph, a Canadian geographer said that there are psychological connections named "sense of place" between people and place, and they are important in terms of making good places. In Japan, It is said that the urban developments without consideration of psychological connections have destroyed places and their social memory. The purpose of this research is to analyze the character and inheritance of "sense of place", by observing habitual use of places inherited in university students in Takadanobaba. There were three investigations and followings were obtained:</p><p> </p><p><b>1) The whole picture of places where university students usually use</b></p><p> It became clear that the places where university students usually use can be divided into fifty four groups based on the industry classification. University facilities, Izakaya, Ramen shop etc. were the most popular places. And it became clear that the places where university students usually use can be roughly divided into nine groups through analysis of purpose for using place. There are the places for intellectual activities, cultural activities, sports, shopping, drinking parties, eating, gathering, killing time and rest. Moreover, it became clear that university students were relating nine places with each other to be network.</p><p> </p><p><b>2) The target youth's formation process of Local-oriented mind</b></p><p> 162 habitual uses of places are gained through the survey. They can be roughly classified into two actions. One is action done by using necessary items already prepared in the places, and the other is actions done by bringing necessary items from other places by themselves. The latter is done in the outdoor space, and it became clear that it is done outside of university more than inside of university. It is confirmed that most places where habitual use of places are done were located around each campus and Takadanobaba Station. And it became clear that many habitual uses of places are done in three types of places; places for leisure activity, places as node, and places for moving.</p><p> </p><p><b>3) Actors for inheritance of "sense of place"</b></p><p> 134 habitual uses of places are inherited beyond school grade. Groups or people keeping on planning events and the groups with multi-generation members are main actors for inheritance of the habitual use of places, thus they are considered to be one of the actors for inheritance of "sense of place". And it became clear that two environments were important for the inheritance of "sense of place"; appropriate urban space for purpose and the experience of seeing behavior of others.</p>

This paper aims to present the structure of landscape interpretation and reconsider the concept of landscape by depicting the process by which landscape emerges as observer-specific “meaning”. For this purpose, we will focus on the existence of “knowledge,” which is said to have the function of directing human consciousness and encouraging the assignment of meaning, and grasp the relationship between its reality and landscape interpretation. By approaching the reality of “knowledge” and structurally understanding the interpretation of landscape, we empirically demonstrated that landscape as a phenomenon is momentarily “constructed” by the observer and that “environmental knowledge” drives it.

This study focused on outdoor advertisements in Kawagoe City, Saitama Prefecture, that are not explicitly defined as norms, but have implicit rules based on the “sense of appropriateness” of people who are involved in urban development. In this study, the factors of the “sense of appropriateness” and the process of cultivating it were clarified. As a result, nine types and evaluation criteria based on the “sense of appropriateness” for the signage design were identified. In addition, the “sense of appropriateness” has been fostered through community development activities and has been changing with the times.

本研究では、わが国の代表的なアニメ産業集積地である東京西郊を分析の対象地として、アニメ制作企業における立地選好の変化をデジタルに伴う作業工程の変化に着目して分析を行う。具体的には次の2点を明らかにする。(1)デジタル化に伴う作業工程の変化 。(2)デジタル化前後における立地要因の変化。近年、コンテンツ産業はその高い成長性から注目されている。その中でも、アニメ産業地域経済の牽引役として期待されている。デジタル化に伴うアニメ産業の立地要因とその変化を分析することは、産業集積の展開を推定する事になるほか、ポスト工業化時代における地域経済の牽引役として重要性を高めつつある、コンテンツ産業の立地特性を理解するためにも重要である。

The purpose of this paper is to clarify the urban forming process in the modern silk raising area from the two aspect. The first is the action of wealthy people and second is the urban space, through the analysis of the modernizing process in Honjo-machi. The results are the followings 1) In Honjo-machi, it mordernized rapidly with the change of silk raising system 2) The action of wealthy people kept pace with flow of modernization, and contributed to form the social system 3) And thier action largely affected to industrialization, Finally, the space structure was affected by the silk mill.

本研究では東京都心部に位置する園庭をもたない保育施設を対象に、保育者の語りを収集することで園外活動のねらいを把握した。また、地域資源の活用状況と散歩コースの分析により、園外活動の空間的な広がりを示し、ねらいとの相関を確認した。その結果、園外活動の機会が多い保育施設は、保育者が献身的に公園に限らない多様な地域資源へと足を運んでいることが明らかになった。また、保育者は安全性と児童の発達状況に合わせた学びの充実を担保するように園外活動の経路をデザインしている。今後、周辺地域が保育者の意向を理解し園外活動空間となる地域資源を積極的に提供していくこと、地域資源の保育の場としての利用方法を伝えていくことが、育児の場としての都市の価値を高めるであろう。

This research focuses on the social contact in urban spaces as a possible protective factor against the development of loneliness. We conducted an online questionnaire survey focusing on going-out activities, especially those for leisure purposes, which previous studies have suggested might be correlated with loneliness, and examined their association with it. Through web-based questionnaire survey and following text mining analysis, it was clarified that it is important for the senior citizens to go out in urban spaces, enjoy leisure time, and interact with others so that they can avoid feeling lonely.
