This study shows the life style and the spatial usage in the rural villages at the Angkor area from a field survey. It aims to present the vision for the village's future, by considering the influence that occurs to the villagers from tourism and the labors such as the conservation projects at the Angkor monumental area as a basis. Angkor Krau village, which is nearby the Angkor monuments has been chosen as a case study district. As a result, the following matters were clarified. Firstly, the actual life style and the economic condition. Secondly, the housing styles and its characteristics. Thirdly, the actual usage of the space in and around the housings. From this study, it can be said that, it is important to maintain the traditional usage method of the housings by creating an annex as an example, and the community development should be considered by viewing on the relationship among the Angkor monuments.

There are many organizations of companies from same hometowns at Naha-city, Okinawa prefecture. But these days, their action has been declined because of the reason of being aged and decrease of immigrants. Firstly, I researched the role and the specialty of the company. From the result of this research, I proved the declination of the company's action is not the same as declination of the company itself, and the importance of school-mate-connections. Secondary, I understood the specialties of the company and picked up some characteristic lifestyles, and clarified that their thinking tendency depends on the term from their leaving to today.

Recently many cases of shopping district revitalization have been carried out under the circumstance that declining shopping districts are increasing. This study aims to clarify the problems and issues of revitalization in consideration of the opinions of storekeepers and actual working organization officers that cause nonparticipation in the revitalization. In this study, through hearings, the opinions of these people are classified. As a result, four problems are clarified. These are the consciousness of the traditional human relations, disagreement with the results, shortage of invitation to participate for storekeepers in the revitalization, and the shortage of key information to storekeepers.

生活の質の向上と心身の健康の維持のため、高齢者の外出促進の重要性が高まっている。外出行動は高齢者と都市空間との関係を考える上で、都市計画的課題になりつつある。本研究では、要介護者の外出行動の実態とデイサービスが提供する外出支援の課題を明らかにしている。また、調査では大田区の外出支援を行っているデイサービスセンター(以下、DS)において、ボランティアとして勤務しながら、65歳以上の要介護者を対象として、ヒアリングおよび参与観察を行った。本研究では以下の3点を明らかにした。1)利用者の日常生活における外出行動を自立積極型、依存積極型、自立消極型、依存消極型の4類型に分類し、類型別に外出行動の実態を把握した。2)利用者の外出行動に差異を生む要因として、身体状況、家族環境、居住環境、生活習慣の4点が挙げられ、外出行動の促進・抑制に影響することが明らかになった。3)DSによる外出支援サービスの実態を空間的に把握し、利用者が外出支援を利用する理由を明らかにした。以上から利用者の外出行動を類型ごとに考察することによって、DSに求める外出支援の全体像と課題を明らかにした。

この研究は、外国人居住地域における大家の役割を明らかにすることを目的とする。外国人居住地域における大家の役割は1)外国人居住者への生活マナーの指導2)アパート内、近隣の居住環境維持3)外国人居住問題に対するノウハウの蓄積4)外国人居住者の問題解決支援、地域情報の提供支援、コミュニケーションによる支援が、本調査を通して結論づけられた。

In many large cities in the developed world, X-TECH Businesses, which combine technology and existing urban industries, have emerged in recent years. The progress of digitalization of all industries has made it necessary to clarify the location principle of X-TECH Businesses and construct the basic knowledge of the new industrial location theory that goes beyond the old industrial location and ICT industrial location theories. In this context, the current study examines X-TECH Businesses in the special wards of Tokyo and clarifies the location mechanism of these businesses by analyzing the relationship between X-TECH Businesses and existing industries. In addition, this study examines the new industrial location structure that is emerging in Tokyo by drawing and analyzing the new clusters formed by the rise of X-TECH Businesses on a map. Further, the study discusses the future direction of the industrial cluster policy in accordance with the digitalization of industry. The study obtained the following results:  1) The location of X-TECH Businesses has a strong Location-Bound and is strongly influenced by the concentration of the same industries. In addition, the location of X-TECH Businesses is strongly influenced by the concentration of other industries, such as traditional, ICT, and business supporting industries. Moreover, X-TECH Businesses emphasize proximity to higher education and research institutions and long-distance public transportation.  2) In Tokyo, X-TECH Businesses have a unique distribution that is different from the distribution of traditional industries and ICT industries. In addition, each X-TECH Business segment is attracted to different existing business clusters. Hence, small X-TECH clusters with distinct characteristics are diversely distributed in Tokyo, resulting in the emergence of an archipelago-like industrial distribution.  3) X-TECH clusters have a sticky nature to the region, as they enter into the crevices of existing industrial clusters and form distinctive little clusters. The X-TECH clusters serve as a bridge between traditional industry and ICT clusters and act as a “catalyst” to activate both the clusters. By supporting the formation of catalytic X-TECH clusters among existing industry clusters, one can revitalize and stabilize the overall regional economy, including traditional regional industries.

In recent years, industrial heritage as a cultural heritage has received a lot of attention. The preservation of Industrial Heritage, a type of modern heritage, has great significance, not only in terms of the inheritance of material values, such as the age and scarcity of objects for preservation, but also in the inheritance of the "Narrative," which conveys the unique culture acquired by the region during its process of modernization. Industrial Heritage, which comprises the context of the region, should be preserved not as a single entity, but to support the succession of the "Narrative." To this end, it is necessary to establish a method of preserving the environment in the surrounding area and passing on the “storage of memories” that existed there, while also considering the exchange of human resources, technology, goods, etc. The purpose of this study is to clarify the kind of "Narrative" that is spun by a locally rooted industrial heritage. In addition, this work endeavors to provide a concrete understanding of the inheritance itself and its relationship with the "space" of the region.  This research will focus on three Japanese industrial heritages: Kita-ku, Tokyo, and Suzaka city, Nagano and Kiryu city, Gunma. Collect Narrations from three Industrial Heritage volunteer guides to characterize the "Narrative" from Narrations.  The results of this study are summarized as follows. First, it was clarified that the "Episode" forming a "Narrative" can be evaluated from two perspectives, which are the "content of the narration" and the "spatial extent of narrations." The content of the report comprises six parts: Narrations of things, Narrations of science and views, Narrations of military and labor, Narrations of the history of industrial technology, Narrations of human activities and culture, and Narrations of official history. The spatial component of the narrations comprises four categories: “Site-Oriented,” “Semi Site-Oriented,” “Area-Oriented,” and “Not attaced to area.” It was possible to grasp the spatial characteristics of the episode using the above two viewpoints. Therefore, it was found that the spatial characteristics of the episode could be grasped using the following three classifications: "Episodes relating to the particular object", "Episodes relating to the place" and "Episodes without any limitation of an object" by integrating the two viewpoints. Second, many of the "Episodes relating to the particular object" included Narrations of things by discussing specific buildings. Many of the "Episodes relating to the place" consisted of Narrations of science and views, Narrations of military and labor, Narrations of history of industrial technology, and Narrations of human activities and culture, for which extensive discussions were conducted on the region. Most of the "Episodes without any limitation of an object" were Narrations of official history. Focusing on the density of the network diagrams in episodes, "Episodes relating to the place" depicted a larger number of dense co-occurrence networks than "Episodes relating to the particular object" and "Episodes without any limitation of an object." Thus, the "Episodes relating to the place" played an important role in forming a detailed "Narrative."

わが国の退職高齢者は、相談できる相手がほとんどおらず、社会からの断絶感を感じる場合が多い。退職高齢者が社会関係を再構築する過程において、自身が抱える悩みを他者に相談し、社会的紐帯を感じることができる社会を作り出すことが求められる。本研究では、退職後に高齢者の人付き合いが変化する過程を明らかにした。高齢者は、退職前の人付き合いの経験をもとに、退職後の人付き合いの継続意向を持つ。そして自身の意向に従い、地域内・外で新たな人付き合いを構築して、他者との付き合い方を変化させる。特に、地域内のテーマ縁(地域内テーマ縁)を通したつながりのなかで、深く相談し合える相談相手に出会う可能性が高いことが示された。

Currently a type of outdoor advertisement, which cannot be truly defined as outdoor advertisement, is partially constructing the street landscape of commercial districts. In this study this type of advertisement is labeled as “semi outdoor advertisement”. Taking the commercial district of Ginza as a subject of research, this study will enable one to understand the character and display methods of “semi outdoor advertisement” in urban landscapes by comparing it to conventional outdoor advertisement. To arrive at a representative comparison the following 3 steps are carried out: (1.) Based on the elements of streetscapes, the 179 streets of the Ginza district are categorized into 8 different types, which can promote clear understanding of Ginza's spatial structure. (2.) By conducting a mesh analysis of the street facades as well as research on the existing conditions of advertisement installations, the amount of existing outdoor advertisement and “semi outdoor advertisement” will be quantitatively revealed. (3.) By sampling all advertisements in the streetscapes, several groups were extracted, according to their forms and information. Based on this research, advertisements in streets differ in forms and their information, which can be recognized as the difference of scenery within Ginza. Those analyses can be suggestive in order to understand regional characteristics created by streetscapes. In addition, it was revealed that near about half of the advertisement constructing streetscape within commercial districts are “semi outdoor advertisement” which cannot be regulated as outdoor advertisement. These “semi outdoor advertisement” will get more influence in streetscape and cannot be ignored, since they are increasing disorderly. These changes transform the urban informational environment, by changing the characteristics of media information and installation of advertisements. Therefore towards the streetscape maintenance in present commercial districts, it is necessary to position “semi outdoor advertisement” as the candidate of streetscape design control. In order to be able to control the design of commercial districts this study also makes evident the imperative to develop guidelines, which regulate the use of “semi outdoor advertisement”, to maintain the landscape. Furthermore, from the perspective of landscape conception, additional guidelines to make adequate use of the merits of “semi outdoor advertisement” will be necessary. In the future, we should deal with not only outdoor advertisement but “semi outdoor advertisement” in law and cityscape ordinance and hold design discussions about “semi outdoor advertisement”.

独居高齢者の増加が社会の趨勢として避けられない中、独居しつつも周囲との繋がりを実感でき、生活の質を保ったまま老いていくことができる社会を実現することは喫緊の課題である。本研究の目的は、独居高齢者の生活行動と孤独感の関係を解明し、独居であっても孤独を感じずにいる人々の生活行動の特徴を明らかにすることにある。それによって、孤独感の解消に資する都市空間を実現していくために、介入の根拠となる基礎的知見を構築する。特定の住宅団地を対象にアンケート調査を行った結果、対人交流と外出行動に関する項目が孤独感と相関を示す要素として明らかになった。さらに、補足的なヒアリング調査から、様子確認ができる親密な人の存在に加えて、生活に余暇外出(とりわけ、徒歩30分圏内で行う日常的な散歩)を取り入れることが重要であるということが、孤独感を低減させる上で重要であると示唆された。「社会的孤立」の解消には家族以外による共助・公助の確立が課題となっている一方、「孤独感」は散歩など余暇外出を生活に取り入れることで改善できるとすれば、余暇外出行動を促進する都市環境を整えることで、一人暮らしの「孤独感」を低減できる可能性がある。

Our target are unemployed living alone seniors in the apartment complexes. We conducted a questionnaire survey and extracted 3 patterns of lifestyles. We analyzed lifestyle characteristics according to the presence or absence of loneliness and subjective health status. We also asked what kind of facilities and events they wanted in their apartment complexes. And we compared the features of them by levels of loneliness, subjective health and lifestyles. Finally, we identified some features in terms of facilities and events which are aligned to certain lifestyle that can contribute low level of loneliness and high subjective health.

The purpose of this study is to propose the basic factors of available information from "intermediate and mountainous areas", where local governments have broadcasted programs. The factors consist of four pieces of information ; community, environmental, industrial and governmental information. With the factors, which are blended correctly they can propagandize to "city areas". The principal contents to be made obvious are as follows. 1. The tendencies of communication with other areas using "CATV" and "CS" as infrastructures are increasing nationally. But the way of broadcasting and receiving the TV programs are so different. 2. The differences of the information from outside, the community relations in intermediate and mountainous areas and the investor relations to city areas are great ; especially environmental information, governmental information and industrial information as "basic factors of information".

&nbsp;As demands of consumers are getting more diverse, downtown and residential areas in Japan have changed to satisfy various image requirements, not just functional differences. It should not be overlooked that the activities of people who make, sell, and interact with their hobbies are growing to a non-negligible economic scale, with invisible change of landscape. In this research, through interview surveys at multiple exhibition spot sale meetings held in the Tokyo metropolitan area, we grasp the actual state of the hand-made craft market and the social background of their formation. We grasped the position of handmade craft market in chapter 2 and clarified the following three points.<br><br>&nbsp;<b>1) The system of the places for activities constituting the hand-made craft market of hobbies</b><br>&nbsp;The places for procurement of materials diversified in the real space and the Internet space, and they came to satisfy the quality, kindness, reasonable prices, convenience for the producers. Production of handmade crafts are enhanced by outside places and services such as shared workshops and the vendor services. In addition, the places for selling works has also diversified, with exhibitions and craft market services, the producers felt delighted that their work gained empathy with the purchasers and exchanges between artists and fans were born. These facts lead to their motivation for making. Almost all of the producers are using SNS to receive information and stimulated from works of other artists, and they also try to exhibit / advertise their works in SNS. It was found that the development of SNS supported the hand-made craft market, which have physical and non-physical places on the internet, crossing the process of materials procurement, production of handcrafts, and selling of their works.<br><br>&nbsp;<b>2) Types of hobby handmade craft market participants and their characters</b><br>&nbsp;Participants who started making their works and joined the handmade craft market could be classified into six types, and characters of each types are revealed, based on their motivations, sex, using of interest, working environment, school, occupation and so on. There are diverse participants, one purely enjoys making their works, while another one tries to sell their works, and some have activities for exhibitions and exchanges. It was found that these diverse participants with different purposes were gathered and formed a hand-made craft market.<br><br>&nbsp;<b>3) Space and social function of the places for making handcrafts, case study of shared studios</b><br>&nbsp;In the chapter 5, we targeted at the &ldquo;share studio&rdquo;, which is a new working model for handmade crafts. The share studio is a space that can be flexibly changed in layout according to the purpose of use, such as the installation of wheeled equipment, and it has the features that they are located in convenient places close to the station. We had investigation at three shared studios in Tokyo. They are not only providing a place for production but also a system of support for manufacturing of both hobbies and main businesses, while they are also providing a place for exchange of artists and information. They also have a role of expanding the base of monozukuri. They are widely used as a place of production for people who are hard to make their works in their own houses. These shared studios are established as a place to support "making things by yourself that is not by mass production".

<p> As the number of foreign residents move to Japan increases, so does the number of their descendants, the next generation of foreign residents. It has been pointed out in the field of psychology and sociology that many of them form an ego derived from multiple places, such as the culture of their home country, the culture of their place of residence, and the culture of the area where they have moved so far, and they have difficulties in living in terms of their behavior and their relationship with the community where they belong.</p><p> In particular, it is estimated approximately 170,000 Muslims currently live in Japan, and they are likely to face daily difficulties in urban life due to the significant difference in code of behavior between the host and Islamic societies. For those with anxiety and difficulties, support has already begun, including learning support and psychological care, to help them adapt to the host society. On the other hand, space improvement suitable for them with different life style is not yet sufficient.</p><p> Clarifying the code of conduct for Muslims who live in Japan and have difficulties with their cultural identity and the characteristics of the space required is important for planning multicultural receptive urban environments.</p><p> Based on this background, the paper clarified following two points;</p><p> </p><p> <b>1) Community created by second-generation Muslims</b></p><p> Oral history research has shown that second Muslims strengthen their ties by sharing the unique identities arise from living in both host and Islamic societies. It was also found that all the subjects of the survey had some problems due to differences in the code of conduct, and among them, the lack of places to worship was a problem for many second-generation Muslims. In some cases, it was found that they chose the instant space for worship by searching it in the town or on the street other than the mosque or home.</p><p> <b>2) Spatial elements and their values of "Prayer Space on the Street"</b></p><p> A study of the street environment suitable for this "street prayer space" revealed that it is easier to find an environment suitable for worship in an area where both quiet and noisy environments exist than in an area where the whole is quiet.Analysis of the downtown prayer space revealed 11 environmental factors. In addition to understanding the necessary factors regardless of the surrounding environment, it was also found that in areas where there are many car streets, it is necessary to stay away from busy roadways in order to concentrate on worship.</p><p> As globalization advances, cross-border cultural diversity is an urgent issue in urban planning. On the other hand, developing an urban environment specialized for them is a way to isolate them and exclude them from the host society. As we have seen in this study, there are many spaces with minimum elements for worship, such as a corner of a parking lot or a backyard of a store where few people pass by, and it is easier to make them available temporarily for worship than to establish a new place of worship. It is important to create an environment in which the existing space can be interpreted and used in various ways by recognizing the meaning and spatial value of the space from the viewpoint of different folklore and culture.</p>

商店街は町の中で、商業的な空間としてのみでなく、公共性の高い日々の交流の場としての重要な役割を果たしてきたと言え、商店街の衰退が深刻になる中で、両側面から商店街の維持を考えることは重要であると考える。本研究は、平井親和会商店街と春日町通り商店街を対象とし、商店街関係者の現在置かれている状況と交流の実態との関係を明らかにした上で、商店街の商業機能の維持と人間関係の継承を図っていくためのプロセスを考察することを目的とする。商店街の構造変化の将来予測から、今後商店街において、元商店主、地域外商店主が増加することが予測された。交流の実態との関係から、商店主は商店を継承し地域の中での交流創出の場を守り続け、商業機能と人間関係の継承という商店街の持続のための二つの役割を担うことが可能である。しかし、商店主が減少してきている現在、元商店主は、商店街を支え人間関係の継承に努めることが必要で、地域外商店主は商業機能を持続し、交流の場を維持に努めることが必要である。つまり増加している元商店主と地域外商店主が商店主を支えることにより、役割を相互補完し日々の交流の場としての商店街を維持していくことが望ましい。

本論文は青森県弘前市における看板建築を対象にする。看板建築においてファサードの境界と、住宅と商店の境界部分に着目し、そこで、住み手がどのような意識で改築をおこなったのかを明らかにする。その結果、以下の3つが明らかになった。ファサードに対する意識が変化したこと。住宅と商店の境界変化は商業的要因が大きく関係する。2境界の変化は同時期に起きている。

On account of the increase of students and the deterioration of facilities etc., the number of the universities that established new campus in the suburbs or moved to there increased. What is worse, in the case of the universities located in the city, the relationship between campus and its neighborhoods has weakened. Under the situation like this, university and its neighborhoods must search the way of coexistence in the city. In this study, the degeneration phenomena of the university neighborhoods are grasped. And then the community planning activities for the regeneration of university neighborhoods are investigated. Finally, the future assignments of the community planning activities are clarified.

本研究では、わが国の代表的なアニメ産業集積地である東京西郊を分析の対象地として、アニメ制作企業における立地選好の変化をデジタルに伴う作業工程の変化に着目して分析を行う。具体的には次の2点を明らかにする。(1)デジタル化に伴う作業工程の変化 。(2)デジタル化前後における立地要因の変化。近年、コンテンツ産業はその高い成長性から注目されている。その中でも、アニメ産業地域経済の牽引役として期待されている。デジタル化に伴うアニメ産業の立地要因とその変化を分析することは、産業集積の展開を推定する事になるほか、ポスト工業化時代における地域経済の牽引役として重要性を高めつつある、コンテンツ産業の立地特性を理解するためにも重要である。

Urbanization has declined the local community, which has organized mutual relationship in suburban areas. But in those areas, indigenous identity of the local community, such as festival, has incubated the foundation for regional management. Now in Chichibu, Chichibu night festival has a position of regional identity and it seems to have affected regional management. This study aims to clarify the influences of regional identity for local community. And I clarified four influences festival has affected regional management, 1)Participation of outsider 2)Assembling and raising of younger 3)Incubation of relationship in areas festival is managed in 4)Possibility of transfer's participation. These influences have possibility that they would lead area to good circumstance regional management goes on in by mutual relationship. In future, we should remind these influences of festival and carry on regional management with festival.

現在文化活動としてのストリートダンスは計画者の意図と異なり、都市空間を私的に利用する形で表出している。公共空間を私的利用しているストリートダンサーはしばしば「不良」のように問題視されてしまっている。しかし、このような状況下においてもストリートダンスは都市空間のいたる所で出没し活動を続けている。これは成熟した都市である東京首都圏が、新たな文化活動としてのストリートダンスを空間的・社会的に何らかの形で受容していると考えられる。本研究ではストリートダンスにおいて象徴的な活動場所である損保ジャパンビルを中心に利用しているダンサーを対象に、二次・三次的な活動場所の利用実態の分析を通して、首都圏において持続して活動を行う為の空間的・社会的要素について明らかする。これにより現代のような空間管理社会における文化活動が根付く為の公共空間のあり方について新しい視座を与える。
