In the United States of America, physiotherapists are involved in vestibular rehabilitation. With the aim of clarifying the degree of interest in Japanese physiotherapists regarding vestibular rehabilitation, this study used a questionnaire to survey physiotherapists who had previously been exposed to equilibrium research at workshops and physiotherapists who had not been exposed as a control group. Approximately 80% of those in the control group were interested in vestibular rehabilitation. However, most physiotherapists had very few opportunities to receive education regarding the pathophysiology of the vestibular system and related diseases in a clinical setting. Physiotherapists who participated in workshops received this education from senior physiotherapists as their instructors. The small number of physiotherapists who were given such opportunities was engaged in vestibular system rehabilitation based on requests from otolaryngologists for a small number of cases. A question regarding vestibular rehabilitation was on the national examination for physiotherapists in 2015. However, there are few opportunities for education regarding vestibular system before and after graduation.

好酸球性食道炎は主に食物抗原に対するIgE非依存型(遅延型)アレルギー反応によって好酸球浸潤を主体とする炎症が食道上皮を中心に発生,慢性的に持続し,食道運動障害や食道狭窄をきたす疾患である.元々は小児領域の疾患と考えられていたが,近年,とくに欧米において成人のつかえ感,food impactionの主な原因として注目されている.好酸球浸潤は食道に限局し,好酸球性胃腸炎とは独立した疾患単位として取扱われる.診断は自覚症状と組織学的に有意な好酸球浸潤を証明することが基本となり,内視鏡検査で縦走溝,白色滲出物,輪状溝などの特徴的な所見を認識しつつ,生検を行うことが必要となる.治療においては,原因食物の特定と除去食の有用性が確認されているが,その実施には極めて高度な医学的管理を要するため適応は限定され,薬物治療が主体となる.第一選択はPPI投与,無効な場合はステロイド食道局所(嚥下)治療が推奨されている.本邦では欧米と比較し症状や所見が強い典型例は少ないが,近年のアレルギー疾患の増加とともに今後増加してくる可能性がある.厚生労働省の指定難病としても告示されており,その病態や診断,治療について理解しておく必要がある.

Three treated groups totaling 60 patients with solitary bone cysts were evaluated. Curettage and bone graft, methylprednisolone acetate (MPA) injection, and curettagehydroxyapatite (HA) filling were performed in 20, 32, and 12 patients, respectively. Four patients were treated with two different interventions. The healing rates (complete healing plus incomplete healing evaluated by Campanacci's criteria) in the three groups was 85%, 83%, and 100%, respectively. Although the healing rate of HA filling appeared to be best in this series, the average duration of follow-up was less than two years. Therefore, MPA injection should be the preferred method for its greater simplicity and the absence of complications.

We are developing positioning systems for mobile robots working at construction sites. In earlier work, we investigated the use of pillars as reference points at construction sites for a position recognition system, and reported on the performance of a prototype system. To further increase the flexibility of the robot system, we have developed a new self-position measurement system for the mobile marking robot. This new system is aimed at expansion of the work area of the marking robot. The system is composed of a prototype of a laserpointer robot and a marking robot with laser-spot detectors. The marking robot uses a point of laser light projected onto it by the laser-pointer robot, placed at a reference point, to determine its position. This report outlines the method for the self-position measurements and describes the performance of the system in a field test.

We describe the results of conservative treatment using a Kyuro knee brace in 12 cases (6 males and 6 females, ranging in age from 6 to 64 years) who had fresh tears of their cruciate ligament. The treatment consisted of eary continuous passive knee motion with protective bracing for three months. The mean follow-up period after injury was 5 months. M R imaging at follow-up revealed two different modes of conjoining. Seven cases with ACL tears had successful results at 6 months. However one case with on ACL tear and plateau fracture did not achieve such successful results. Two cases with avulsion fractures of the PCL had successful results at 3 months. We believe that conservative treatment is effective for treating fresh tears of the cruciate ligament.

好酸球性食道炎は食道上皮への多数の好酸球浸潤を特徴とする慢性炎症によって食道運動障害や器質的狭窄を来たす疾患である.病因として食事中の抗原や空気中に浮遊している花粉などの抗原に対する過剰な免疫反応が想定されているが不明な点が多い.本症は近年欧米で増加しており,食物のつかえ感やfood impaction(食物の食道嵌頓)の一因として非常に注目されている.本症の診断の基本は症状と病理組織所見であるが,2次的な食道好酸球浸潤の除外,とくにGERDとの区別のため,PPIに対する反応性の評価が必要とされている.本症は特徴的な内視鏡像を呈する場合があり,これらを認識しておくことが診断において重要となる.本稿では,現在,国内外で用いられている診断基準を示しながら,診断のポイントについて,とくに内視鏡像,病理組織像の点から解説する.

In-pipe flaw causes a failure in air conditioning pipe system, and to prevent the failure, in-pipe flaw must be diagnosed regularly. For the diagnosis of it, the type and size of the flaw are important information, and a pulsereflection method is usually used, because of its simplicity, where the type and size of in-pipe flaw have an effect on an amplitude of its echo. In this paper, to judge the type and size of in-pipe flaws, we used the two kinds of the amplitude information about the echoes. One is the amplitude of the echo that is reflected from the inner surface of the pipe with the flaws. The other is the amplitude of the echo reflected from the normal surface of the pipe. We used wavelet analysis to obtain the amplitude information about the echoes in the ultrasonic pulse reflected. We showed the results of the in pipe flaw diagnosis by using a test pipe with the artificial flaws on its inner surface and classified the results of flaw diagnosis in three types. Finally, we proposed an estimation method of the size of the in pipe corrosion with some experimental results.
