This study describes stagnation problems in regional healthcare networks (hereafter referred to as “networks”) and strategies for overcoming them. If the value of networks were higher than that of conventional systems and if they could be traded at lower cost, the demand for transactions would have increased and the networks would have developed as expected. In reality, however, the value of networks is not fully guaranteed, and repeated excessive subsidies have resulted in the formation of an unhealthy markets where the transaction costs of information goods have remained high and transaction demand has remained low. This has resulted in stagnation due to the lack of economic rationality on the part of users to use the networks. Therefore, to overcome these problems, we proposed a strategy to lower transaction costs for networks.

We consider current status and analysis of medical linkage network using data in Yokohama. The introduction of electronic medical records and participation in medical information network enhance the convenience of exchanging patient information by doctors. It takes time to improve the convenience of information exchange. It was suggested that qualitative handling is required rather than quantity for information exchange represented by the exchange of referral letters.

People often talk of their views of nature. They scarcely touch, however, on their views of artifact. It is strange because we human beings are surrounded by innumerable artifacts and are extremely influenced by them in everyday lives. We can reasonably guess that people have their own views of artifact. Therefore, if people do not aware of the views of artifact consciously, it should be concluded that people believe they have already entire and precise knowledge about all artifacts and need not discuss any more special views about them. The view of nature is what people perceive and manage nature by. On the other hand, the view of artifact decides not only how to perceive and use artifacts but also what to make artifacts. The last is the most important for the made is influenced by the view of artifact and thus the artificial environment in the future will be decided by people’s view of artifact. Because it is an urgent task for human beings to construct and maintain the sustainable environment, it is crucial for us to understand the view of artifact at the present time.

The purpose of the research paper is to propose three research subjects related to the educational methods of hybrid group work exercises. The first research subject is to design “learning BOMs” that correspond to the overall education curriculum for the hybrid group work exercises. The second is to design the database of AI chatbot “Q\&A system” according to the designed learning BOMs. The third is to analyze the learning logs of learning behaviors for each learner to use the AI chatbot “Q\&A system” during actual group exercises and after classes.

This paper describes about the timeaxis design which is a new paradigm of design introducing a concept of time axis into design theory and methodology. Moreover, its social meaning along with its position in science are outlined, and a value growth design, and an unsteady and nonequilibrium system design, which are application of the timeaxis design, are described. As a means for realizing of these designs, a bio-inspired technology and service technology are described. Additionally, timeaxis models, which consist of an unsteady model, a plastic model, and a multi-time scale model, and a gray-box model as an integrated model for decision-making used for a timeaxis design are introduced. Finally, a new possibility by using the timeaxis design is indicated.

"Virtual Reality (VR)" is a name of the technology to give us an opportunity to go insidean image world synthesized by computers. This word has become popular to the public since 1989.Thanks to the progress of computer technology, various VR-like services and applications are availablein our society nowadays. Virtual Reality Society of Japan (VRSJ) was established in 1996 topromote communication among the researchers and engineers of this field. This paper introduces thehistory and current activities of VRSJ and Virtual Reality R&D.

This article describes the field of human-artifact interaction to develop "timeaxis design"from a semiotic viewpoint. I focus especially on narratology and ludology for considering the subject,and discuss the structure of dynamics of time flow in the field of narrative and game in design.(1) Narratology and ludology offer some effective concepts for interaction design as well as game.(2) Personalized (informal) time is significant in defining timeaxis in interaction.(3) Time in the course of interaction is nonlinear and polychronic.(4) Chronomic factors are necessary in considering reality and agency in interaction.

The phrase “Koto-tsukuri”, which is known to be a unique, original expression in Japanese, is supposedly one of the most important keywords in terms of TRAFST’s focus. Nonetheless, the phrase shows considerable ambiguity, and thus, TRAFST is in need of an unequivocal definition of the phrase. In this paper, we inquire how to redefine the phrase by illuminating the conceptual difference between “Mono” and “Koto” in ordinary use. We conclude that the contrast between “Mono” in “Mono-tsukuri” and “Koto” in “Koto-tsukuri” should be characterized in light of the relation between means and event or phenomena it brings about.

One of the characteristic analytical methods in Econophysics is observation of distributionfunction of an economic phenomenon. By comparing the distribution function with a normaldistribution, we can find the correlation structure hiding in the phenomenon through Lindeberg's centrallimit theorem and the generalized (stable distribution) central limit theorem. We introduce someexamples of research which used the distribution function for the phenomena of financial markets,real estate markets, an online product market, and a retail market.

The Japan Statistical Society is a professional society of statisticians founded in 1931. The mission of the society is to promote excellence in statistical research and research training, in statistical education, and in the practice of statistics as well. In this article, after a brief review of its long history the present activities of the society are presented such as academic journal publications, organization of annualmeetings, international affairs and also awarding of distinguished statisticians, among others. Future directions that the society aims to are also discussed.

We are now in a new age of improving continuously the quality and efficiency of our social living and industrial styles by new technologies such as Big Data, IoT, AI, Robotics and so on. In particular, the construction of the next generation of healthcare system towards Society 5.0 is one of the reforms which is strongly promoted by the government and the Business Federation in Japan. In this paper we give a brief introduction on features of "Data Health Reform Plans" by the Ministry of Health, Labor andWelfare, first, and we point out urgent need for developing human resources called as health data scientists who have health data analytic talents and recognize the backgrounds of health data which they treat with, for the realization of "Data Health Reform Plans". In the second half of the paper, we introduce the Health Data Scientists (HDS) Association which has newly established for the purpose of development and certification of HDS.

Panasonic's robot new business development group has challenged to develop some newproducts for hospital and eventually succeeded to launch innovative products to fit to hospital's'Wants.' Main strategy for needs-finding in hospital was to apply the know-how to improve productivityin working places of Panasonic as a manufacturing company such as problem breaking downfrom view of hospital management or observation per immersion into hospital's working places.

In this article, we try to present a potential plan or crude design, and perspective for promoting mathematics-for-industry. Since the mid-1990s, the drastic improvements in computer performance have forged a much closer link of mathematics to science (including social science), technology and industry. Getting such high performance computer, we have now a new feature of applications of mathematics to industrial-scientific technology (through several software). Those applications may also provide an impact and new development on mathematics itself, and then, again be able to develop further the world of mathematical science.
