<p>Fog-Cloud computing system has recently attracted much attention. This system has a simple three-tiered hierarchy: Network edge, Fog, and Cloud. Network edge includes IoT (Internet of Things) devices. Fog is localized computing facilities including network devices such as an edge router, a switch and any other. In this system, Fog handles various data processing, which are sensitive to delay, to shorten WAN propagation latency arising from the location of Cloud. However, if the data processing is concentrated on Fog, the delay of the processing and power consumption of the network edge may increase rather than Cloud computing. The reason why is because Fog has more limited resources than Cloud. Therefore, we should decide an appropriate allocation of roles between Fog and Cloud taking the latency of the processing and the power consumption of the network edge into account. In this paper, we consider the design of Fog-Cloud computing taking the latency and cost resulted from the power consumption into account by using a mixed integer linear programming.</p>

OSS (Open Source Software) has made remarkable progress in recent years. In ES (Enterprise Software) development process, also the OSS usage has been increasing steadily, which means the impact of OSS to the society has become greater and greater. However, the quantitative analysis for OSS development has been put no particular importance today. In this research, we study to enhance COCOMO model, commonly used for ES development, in order to clarify the relationship between human resources and development volume of OSS development projects. We chose 50 of Large Scale OSS development Projects from GitHub for our analysis, and obtained such three findings as: 1. In OSS development projects, with some arrangement in measuring man-months volume, we found that power formula of COCOMO model can be applied for expressing the relationship between the development volume and the outputs. 2. As OSS development characteristics, with the increase of development volume, the efficiency for development shows the rising trend. 3. The tendency found above has been identified as not the results of diversion as copying and modifying sources nor cumulative contribution made by variety of small developers.

The ultra compact optical RGB multiplexer for a pocket projector that size is 8.8(W)×6.0(D)×4.0(H)(mm) was developed by the micro-molding processing. The RGB multiplexer was constructed by the optical filter and three lenses for each RGB laser diode in the molding packaging. The interface of the optical filter and the resin was not existed an air gap by optimizations of molding conditions. We were successfully projected onto a screen using the RGB multiplexer.

It is very effective to enhance the robustness of control over the faults occurred in power system in order to realize stable and reliable power supply. The sliding mode control based on the Variable Structure System (VSS) theory is paid attentions as one of the promising robust control scheme. In the sliding mode control, the structure of the control system is changed across the hyper plane (switching plane) in state space so that the state variables of the system are kept on the hyper plane.This paper proposes a novel control method of generator's excitation system in which the concept of sliding mode control is employed. More specifically, the proposed method switches the reference voltage used in AVR according to the sign of switching function. This paper also discusses the systematic design procedure of the optimal hyper plane. Performance and effectiveness of the proposed control method are investigated through both numerical studies and experimental tests using the single-machine infinite-bus system simulator. Both results show that the proposed control method can damp the transient swing caused by a fault effectively.

Recently, wind power generation is increasing in the world. In the wind power stations, induction machines are mostly used as generators. Since induction generators have a stability problem similar to the transient stability of synchronous machines, it is important to analyze the transient stability of power systems including wind generators. Although there have been some reports analyzing the transient stability problem, wind turbine and wind generator are, in most cases, modeled as one mass shaft system having total inertia constant. This paper presents simulation analyses of transient stability of power system including induction generator which is expressed by a two-mass shaft model and analyzes an effect of shaft system modeling on the transient stability characteristics. Simulations are performed by PSCAD/EMTDC in this study.

High voltage adjustable speed drive systems offer significant advantages in many applications such as a fan, pump, or blower. In these applications, the adjustable speed drive systems achieves a higher level of system efficiency.Usually, low voltage inverters with output transformer were used for a high voltage induction motor drive system. Recently, direct drive inverter system without output transformer has proposed and investigated. This inverter system is composed of single phase unit inverters and outputs multilevel voltages.In this paper, pulse width modulation (PWM) technique suitable for high voltage direct drive inverter systems are discussed. At first, conventional multi-level PWM techniques based on the sub-harmonic method are shown and evaluated using time domain simulation. Next, new PWM method is proposed. This method has advantages that a modulation principle is very simple, distortion of the output voltage is very low, and well balanced switching losses among the unit inverters are achieved. Finally, simulation and experimental result are shown to illustrate the effectiveness of this method.

The purpose of this paper is to develop a fuzzy reasoning control law for an inverted pendulum system by the aid of the theory of variable structure systems (VSS). The cascade architecture of two fuzzy controllers is used for considering of interation with the cart. The stability of the control systems is investigated by the reachability and the existence conditions for the sliding mode. The simulation and experimental results are given to demonstrate the validity of our design method.

In this paper, we investigated influence on plant bioelectric potential by basic human behaviors. We analyzed four basic human behaviors such as touching the plant, opening the door, approaching the plant and turning on the lighting. As a result, the special response of bioelectric potential were influenced by each behavior. Bioelectric potential shows the impulse responses due to the behavior. Therefore we tried to learn and recognize human behaviors by extracting a characteristic from plant bioelectric potential. The method to recognize basic human behaviors that we propose uses a low level ingredient of cepstrum of plant bioelectric potential. Some data didn't recognize correctly because of individual difference of human behaviors, however, F-measure became an average of 0.76. It shows that the proposal method may be effective way to recognize basic human behaviors from plant bioelectric potential.
