Elles jouent chacune le r61e de l’h6roine dans Gigi et Clzzadine d Paris qui sont tous les deux roman d’《6ducation sentimentale de jeune f量11e》dans le cadre de Paris vers 1900. Pourtant les textes ont 6t6 publi6s a quarante ans de distance. GiE…・i, un des derniers romans de Colette, est diff色rent de Claudine 2勘腐en ce sens que celui・ci raconte Ia vie d’une petite bourgeoise sous la forme de journal intime tandis que celui-la d6crit le milieu du《demi-monde》ala troisi6me personne par le temps pass6. Nous constatons que la volont6 des demi・mondaines qui poursuivent une vie agr6able et amoureuse se transforme chez Colette en vertu pour rechercher la vie authentique a ce point que l’esprit de la Belle Epoque florissant dans le roman Gigi d6ploie au de-la du temps par sa valeur universelle.

The transition from the vegetative to sexually reproductive phase is the most dynamic change to occur during a plant's life cycle. In the present study, we showed that the ethylene precursor 1-aminocylopropane-1-carboxylic acid (ACC) induces sexual reproduction in the marine red alga Pyropia yezoensis independently from ethylene. Exogenous application of ACC, which contains a three membered carbocyclic ring, promoted the formation of spermatia and carporspores in gametophytes, whereas ethephon, an ethylene-releasing compound, did not stimulate sexual reproduction. In addition, an ACC analog, 1-aminocyclobutane-1-carboxylic acid (ACBC), which contains a four membered carbocyclic ring, promoted sexual reproduction and enhanced tolerance to oxidative stress in the same manner as ACC, but 1-aminocyclopentane-1-carboxylic acid (cycloleucine; which contains a cyclopentane ring) did not. The application of ACC increased the generation of reactive oxygen species (ROS) and induced the expression of PyRboh gene encoding NADPH oxidase. ACC also stimulated the synthesis of ascorbate (AsA) by inducing transcripts of PyGalLDH, which encodes galactono-1,4-lactone dehydrogenase, the catalyst for the final enzymatic step of the AsA biosynthetic pathway. Conversely, ACC caused a decrease in the synthesis of glutathione (GSH) by repressing transcripts of PyGCL, which encodes glutamate cysteine ligase, the catalyst for the rate-limiting step in the formation of GSH. These results suggest a possible role played by ACC as a signaling molecule independent from ethylene in the regulation of sexual reproduction through alterations to the redox state in P. yezoensis.

Red alga dulse possesses a unique xylan, which is composed of a linear beta-(1 -> 3)/beta-(1 -> 4)-xylosyl linkage. We previously prepared characteristic xylooligosaccharide (DX3, (beta-(1 -> 3)-xylosyl-xylobiose)) from dulse. In this study, we evaluated the prebiotic effect of DX3 on enteric bacterium. Although DX3 was utilized by Bacteroides sp. and Bifidobacterium adolescentis, Bacteroides Ksp. grew slowly as compared with beta-(1 -> 4)-xylotriose (X3) but B. adolescentis grew similar to X3. Therefore, we aimed to find the key DX3 hydrolysis enzymes in B. adolescentis. From bioinformatics analysis, two enzymes from the glycoside hydrolase family 43 (BAD0423: subfamily 12 and BAD0428: subfamily 11) were selected and expressed in Escherichia coli. BAD0423 hydrolyzed beta-(1 -> 3)-xylosyl linkage in DX3 with the specific activity of 2988 mU/mg producing xylose (X1) and xylobiose (X2), and showed low activity on X2 and X3. BAD0428 showed high activity on X2 and X3 producing X1, and the activity of BAD0428 on DX3 was 1298 mU/mg producing X1. Cooperative hydrolysis of DX3 was found in the combination of BAD0423 and BAD0428 producing X1 as the main product. From enzymatic character, hydrolysis of X3 was completed by one enzyme BAD0428, whereas hydrolysis of DX3 needed more than two enzymes.

本研究では、日本トップレベルの大学バドミントン選手におけるサービスレシーブ時の下肢筋活動について検討した。全日本学生バドミントン選手権大会優勝チームに所属する男子選手7名を被験者とし、サービスレシーブ時の大腿二頭筋および腓腹筋活動を測定した。その結果、非ラケット足の大腿二頭筋および腓腹筋と打点との間に有意な相関関係が認められた。このことから、前方へ体を移動させるための推進力を得るための非ラケット足による床をけり出す力を向上させることにより、ネットに近い位置でシャトルを打つことができるようになる可能性が示唆された。
