We observe the seismic activity in the northern part of the South Island in New Zealand since Nov. 2009. New Zealand is located at the border between the Pacific plate and the Australian plate and the Alpine Fault runs along the boundary from southwest to northeast in the South Island. A lot of earthquakes occurred there, e.g., 1929 Murchison (M7.7), and 1968 Inanghua (M7.2). We observed aftershocks of the 2011 Christchurch earthquake for 2 years since Mar. 2011. Now, We expand the observation network with about 40 seismometers in northern part of the South Island.

This study investigated the moderating effects of children’s conflicting relationships with their best friends on how positive parent-child relationships buffer against children’s externalizing problem behaviors directly or through their self-esteem. It also examined whether this moderating effect was conditional on children’s age. Nine hundred and twenty-six elementary and junior high school students completed the questionnaire, which covered their sense of trust in parents, self-esteem, conflicting relationships with best friends, and externalizing problem behaviors. The results of a mediation analysis revealed that children’s high sense of trust in parents buffered against externalizing problem behaviors by enhancing their self-esteem. However, moderated mediation analyses indicated that children with highly conflicting relationships with their best friends reduced the buffering effects of children’s sense of trust in parents on externalizing behaviors both directly and through their self-esteem. These findings were discussed in terms of the children’s conflicting relationships with their best friends and the children’s perception of ego-threat.

本研究では, 住環境と子どもの発達の関連性を検討する第一段階として, 住環境と「育てる側」である母親との関連性について分析を行った.その結果, 住環境に関する母親の評価が, 母親の活動制限感に影響を及ぼすことによって, 母親の子どもに対する態度を変化させていることが示された.養育態度に影響を及ぼしているとされる様々な要因では説明できない残差の一部がこの住環境要因で説明可能と解釈できると推察されたことからも, 今回の調査の結果は意義のあるものだと言えるだろう.子育てのための住環境問題が深刻化している現在, 不適切な養育態度や育児ストレスの原因となる他の要因の改善と同様に, 今回の分析結果から得られた住環境要因, 特に住居内スペースの質の向上, すなわち, 「自分のためのスペース」の確保や使い易い間取りの工夫などの環境要因を特定・改善していくことは, 有効であると考えられる.

各種の医療用エアゾル剤を用いて,麻酔ガスモニター測定値への影響について検討した.フロンガスを含むメプチン^®エアーでは,ブリューエルケアー1304で,エタノールを含むニトロール^®スプレーでは,オメダ5250で測定値が影響を受けた.ミオコール^®スプレーには,代替フロンHFC134aとエタノールが含まれており,オメダ5250とブリューエルケアー1304ともに影響を受けた.アルティマMM206は今回検討したエアゾル剤に関して最も影響を受けにくいモニターであった.麻酔ガスモニター使用中にエアゾル剤を使用する際は,エアゾル剤中に含まれる噴射剤の成分とモニターの測定原理に注意する必要がある.

Mental disorders are common among prison inmates. Article 26 of Japan's Mental Health and Welfare Law requires prison governors to report the impending release of inmates with mental disorders to the Prefectural governor; at the same time, documentary evidence of such inmates'psychiatric status must be submitted if they are assessed as likely to exhibit violent behavior. However, no research has been done on the implementation of this law. The goal of this study was to clarify the extent to which documentary evidence is actually included in reports issued by correctional institutions. It was found that documentary evidence is included high rates when inmates fall into 1 or more of the following 3 categories: the prison psychiatrist stated in the release report that hospitalization was necessary for psychiatric treatment; the risk of the inmate's inflicting harm on others is recognized; a violent nature and/or impulsiveness are recognized.

シリコンパワーMOSFETは90年代後半, 微細加工技術, 低抵抗ゲート電極材料, SOI構造等のLSI技術を導入して飛躍的に性能が向上し, 2GHz帯では化合物半導体デバイスと同等の性能を示すようになった。更に21世紀に入り5GHz帯での適用の見通しが得られた。本論文では, シリコンマイクロ波パワーMOSFETの研究開発の歴史, 構造的な特徴, 高周波特性改善のための研究開発動向について述べる。

中学生や高校生が生活全般に抱く満足度評価(以下,生活満足度)に関連する要因として,パーソナリティや学力などのポジティブな個人内特性をはじめ,家族関係や友人関係などの対人関係が検討されてきたが,これらがどのように関連しあって生活満足度に結実するのかは明らかでない。そこで本研究は,ポジティブな個人内特性と対人関係が,生活満足度とそれぞれ独自に関連し,同時に対人関係は個人内特性にも関連するというモデルを構成し,両親の学歴と生徒の性別の影響を統制した上で検証した。加えて,モデルの変数間の関連性に発達的な違いが見られるか検討した。中学1年生(n=254)と高校1年生(n=368)の質問紙データを用い,共分散構造分析により仮説モデルの検証を行った結果,モデルの妥当性が確認され,さらに多母集団同時分析により仮説モデルは中学生と高校生でともに成立し,関連性の度合いもほぼ同程度であることが確認された。ただし,家族関係から個人内特性に引いたパス係数は中学生の方が高校生より有意に大きく,家族環境の良好さと個人内特性の関連性は中学生にとってより顕著であることが示唆された。
