大阪市の御堂筋は北は阪急前(大阪駅前)から南の難波駅まで1920年代の都市計画の中で設計された。その並木は汚染された大阪の大気を浄化する目的があった。近年、御堂筋のイチョウは大阪のシンボリックな景観として認識されている。しかし当初の御堂筋並木は、北方はプラタナスであり、南方がイチョウであった。本論文では、この御堂筋並木の設計案、工事の実態、その建設と設計に関わった関係者について大阪市の都市計画公文書により実証した。

While the traditional branch of economics often assumes that people make decisions strictly to maximize their material well-being, there are increasingly many works which deviate from this paradigm and incorporate behavioral factors explicitly into economic analysis. A similar trend can also be observed in the field of organizational economics, where more attention is paid to behavioral aspects of incentive design in organizations. What issues are economists interested in, and how do they attempt to approach those issues? In this article, we overview recent developents in this emerging field, with particular focus on consequences which arise from the process of self-identification. We also discuss potential future research topics and the possibility of interdisciplinary collaboration.

This paper examines the writings of Riemon UNO and his association, Kogyokyoikukai, focusing on workers' housing especially dormitories. It can be read how the third party grasped the matters relating to workers' dormitories. They introduced the "model" dormitories from the point of view of the sound development of industries in Japan. On the assumption that the primordial matters behind of the dormitory system cannot immediately be solved, "model" dormitories were as cases that should be referred to for a problem how improve them while making use of an advantage in protection and the management of the workers.

This paper is a study on the evolutional state of higher educational facilities in the Late-Meiji Era. Here, paying a special attention to the activity of Jihei Yamamoto, one of the main architects in the Ministry of Education. I make clear his achievements and his works and point out his important role in the evolutional process of higher educational facilities and the feature and transition to be seen in the exterior design of main buildings in these facilities which he had designed.

わが国の都市空間は、明治維新から太平洋戦争時までの間に実施された各種の都市基盤整備の事業によって再編された。この研究は、近代におけるわが国の都市空間の変容を、その事業が計画・執行される仕組みを理解することで解明する。都市基盤整備の事業は、国家、地方行政、地権者、共同体、民間資本などが多様な関係を築き実施されていた。そして、その関係は、学知や技術による客観的評価に基づく、一元的な制度システム(仕組み)に回収されていくようになったことがわかった。

2年間の調査・研究により明らかになったことの概要は、以下のとおりである。1)芸術にかかわる人々の中で、郊外居住地の開発を最も促したのは、画家である。ただし、明治前半期までは、彼らの居住地は、近世までの居住地と変わらなかった。明治後半期になり、画家の地位向上にともない、画業の環境を求めて画家の郊外移住が始まった。2)京都市周辺部での郊外住宅地の開発は、昭和初期から盛んになるが、この開発行為の多くの事例で、画家、映画関係者、大学教員などの文化人の郊外居住の需要が前提になっていることがうかがえる。3)東山地域では、数寄者といわれる、茶の湯に親しんだ文化人たちが、独自の居住環境を作り上げていた。4)等持院かいわいの住宅地には、日本画家を中心とした「絵描き村」と呼ばれる地区がある。この地域では、関西のモダニズムをリードした建築家・本野精吾なども居住しており、画家と建築家とのサロン的交流があった。5)下鴨地域では、昭和のはじめから洋画家が集住し、その後、官吏やサラリーマンも住む住宅地になっていった。北白川地域では、昭和初期から土地会社により宅地開発が進み、京大教授を中心とした学者や医者などが住む宅地が形成された。6)大学教員が郊外地に住む場合には、同じ大学の教員である建築家に設計を依頼するケースが多く見られ、大学内で郊外居住をめぐるサロン的交流があったと考えられる。
