Through art appreciation, viewers are sometimes inspired to express or implement creative ideas. Such an experience is thought to be important for art learning. In this study, we conducted a questionnaire to examine how art appreciation promotes creative inspiration in non-experts. We hypothesized that: (a) individual experience with art-related activities and self-evaluation of artistic expression affect creative inspiration, mediated by the method of appreciation of artworks; and (b) the type of artworks affects creative inspiration, mediated by the method of appreciation of artworks. The participants were 373 adults, who were not art professionals (179 women, age: M = 45.02, SD = 13.45, range: 20–69 years). The data were analyzed using structured equation modeling for the two hypotheses. The two hypotheses were mostly supported, suggesting that self-evaluation of artistic expression and the type of artworks (especially classical works of art) influence creative inspiration, mediated by the method of appreciation of artworks. However, experience with art-related activities has no significant direct effect on the inspiration to create something.

創造性の発揮は企業組織にとって喫緊の課題である.近年,海外では創造性に関する自信を示す創造的自己効力感が実際の仕事の場での創造的パフォーマンスに影響することが示されている.本研究では企業の従業員と上司を対象にして質問紙調査を行い,従業員個人の創造的自己効力感とチームレベルの創造的自己効力感が上司による創造性評価に与える影響の違いを検討した.

The purpose of this study is to examine whether a commitment to the study of art affects how students receive inspiration from their external environment. The frequency and intensity of external inspiration is compared in art majors versus non-art majors. In addition, we examine whether attitudes developed through the study of art are correlated with inspiration. Specifically, we focus on attitudes to art-making and art appreciation. We developed psychological scales and questionnaires to measure three parameters: (a) the frequency and intensity of inspiration from the external environment, (b) self-evaluation of art-making, and (c) attitudes toward art appreciation. We then asked 190 undergraduates who majored in the fine arts and 189 undergraduates with non-art majors to complete these questionnaires. The results show that art majors experience inspiration from their external environment more frequently and intensely than non-art majors. Attitudes toward art-making and appreciation, which differed between non-art majors and art majors, were positively correlated with externally-derived inspiration.

The creation of a work of art is indicated to result from expressive awareness,achieved as the artist matches images and methods. This study examined how novices, who tend to produce artistic expressions reproductively, acquire such expressive awareness over several weeks of practice of photography. We conducted case studies with two con-ditions: 1) one participant took photographs and reflected on her own work; 2) one participant imitated eminent works of creative expression in the domain and reflected on her own work. The results showed that the participants acquired expressive aware-ness in both conditions, but the scope of the expressive awareness was different. The participant who practiced only reflection on her own work started to focus on precise methods of expression, while the participant who practiced imitation as well as reflec-tion started to produce creative expressions and tried consciously to control her creative processes. The findings of this study are potentially useful for developing educational practice in art schools.

Project-based-Learning is expected to promote students’ teamwork competency. Previous study proposed an instructional method with the peer review of team contribution; however, its effectiveness on teamwork competency was not examined. Therefore, the current study examined whether the instructional method with the peer review of team contribution promotes individuals’ team competency. We provided the instructional method for three classes and ordinary PBL program for the other three classes of freshmen, in which a questionnaire survey has been conducted at the beginning and ending part of the program. The results showed that a part of students’ teamwork competency was promoted through the program, but the peer review decreased students’ fairly response to the other team members.

演奏者は作曲家の意図や演奏者自らの意図や,聴衆への伝わりやすさなどを省察しながら練習を重ねる。本研究の目的は,音大生のような学習者の表現の自覚性を測定する心理尺度を開発することである。音楽教育家と心理学者が共同して,演奏表現の特徴を踏まえた演奏表現の自覚性尺度を作成し,音楽学科に所属する 180名の大学生を対象に質問紙を実施した。その結果,演奏表現の自覚性尺度は聴衆への伝達性,演奏者の表現意図と表現方法の調和性,楽譜への忠実性という 3因子からなることが示された。また,各因子に十分な信頼性が確認された(αs>.70)。この尺度は音楽演奏の学習過程を理解する上で役立つ。
