本研究では, まったく新しい機構の空圧直動アクチュエータを提案している。従来までのシルンダなどの直動アクチュエータには, その機構上, 伸縮できるストローク長が最長でも収納長さと同等に抑えられてしまう。本アクチュエータは, カメレオンの舌のように伸びる機構により, 収納長さに対してストローク長の比率を極めて大きくとることのできるものになっている。講演においてはその具体的な機構や駆動制御手法等について説明する。

A double cavity half toroidal contimlously variable power transmission transmits input torque through a pair of variable units and changes its speed ratio by controlling attitude angels of four power rollers. One power roller among them is controlled by a hydraulic servomechanism and the others are followed it under the control principle of equal force transmission. Synchronization of four power rollers is guaranteed by safety wires, however nonlinearities of friction force on the control pistons or pressure delay in hydraulic lines due to air mix or pipe length cause instability of the speed ratio servomechanism through the safety wires. This paper focuses the relation between the synchronization and stability of the CVT by making bond graph analyses and experiments, and shows design guidelines on the stabilization of the double cavity half toroidal CVT.

Locusts and grasshoppers have powerful hind-legs which are adapted to produce jumps and kicks. It is reported that the desert locust (Schistocerca gregaria) which is about 50mm long can jump to the height of about 250mm at the peak. Hind-legs of locusts have special cuticle called "semi-lunar process" same as the spring. Locusts charge jumping force in semi-lunar process using own muscle before jumping. And, they can jump by instantaneously releasing the force. So, locusts obtain high jumping performance which is impossible by only own muscle, using semi-lunar process. The aim in this research is to develop high power joint mechanism by mimic jumping system of locusts. This paper reports how to produce high power in the mechanism.

In this study, the development of multi-role bipedal walker based on human-assisted passive walking is discussed. In this paper, the effect of upper body with non-linear spring characteristic is demonstrated. And, the bipedal walker with human-like appearance is developed. There is a close resemblance between human being and the developed bipedal walker.

ドライブ装置(Power Drive System,PDSと略されることが多い)とは,モータを可変速度制御するものであり,ファン,ポンプ,搬送装置をはじめとして,エレベータ・工作機械・電車・電気自動車・ロボットなどにも使われている.このドライブ装置に関する国際規格というのは,IEC(国際電気標準会議)において,IEC61800シリーズとして規定されている.この報告は,ドライブ機能安全規格であるIEC61800-5-2を実装したドライブを開発する上で,抽出された課題を検討したものである。

A safety assessment needs to be conducted to analyze the damage caused by an aircraft impacting into a concrete structure at a nuclear power plant. One of the analytical methods used for this issue is a numerical impact simulation conducted after aircraft and reinforced concrete (RC) models are determined. We established the RC model and aircraft model in this study and confirmed the applicability of an impact simulation. Validation of our RC model was confirmed by conducting impact simulations of an F4 Phantom engine (GE-J79) crashing into three different wall thicknesses of 900, 1150, and 1600 mm. The damages to the wall in the simulations agreed with the test results conducted at Sandia National Laboratory around 1990. We also conducted parametric impact simulations of a rigid missile crashing into a concrete wall, changing the impact speed, mass of the missile, and the wall thickness. The wall thickness required to prevent perforation in the simulations was close to that estimated by the empirical formulae, although the residual speeds of the missile after the perforation in simulation did not agree very well to the values obtained by empirical formulae. One of the reasons of the difference in the residual speed is that the speed of the ejected concrete was not considered in our RC model. An impact simulation of an F4 Phantom crashing into a RC wall was conducted for the validation of our aircraft model. The shape of the impact load and the state of the frames of F4 Phantom on impact were almost the same as those in the test results conducted at Sandia, which showed that the F4 Phantom model was valid.

Two-dimensional Fourier transform analysis is presented as an advanced method for numerically processing the Young's fringes diffraction pattern from a double-exposure speckle photograph. The fringe spacing and orientation are determined using only one Young's fringes pattern without any other diffraction halo patterns. This algorithm is based on the 2-D FFT of the fringe pattern with 256×256 pixels. Therefore, it has enabled automatic analysis to be performed with noisy and poor fringe patterns. The measurement of deformation field by the laser speckle method can be carried out with higher accuracy, reliability and speed.

This paper presents plug-in automatic charge of omnidirectional mobile robot with active casters. In this system, a camera on the robot detects an outlet on wall and a plug on the robot is inserted in the outlet by only movement of robot. Because this system needs no stations for automatic charge of robot, this system provides space saving and improvement of efficiency for robot task. Outlet is detected by feature values of contours. Distance and angle of outlet are measured by geometric relation of object and picture. Furthermore, it is confirmed that camera enables robot to approach outlet by experiment. Hereafter, robot will be installed plug and experiment of plug-in automatic charge will be tried.

In recent years, Japanese nuclear power plants experienced multiple large earthquakes. It is very important to assess the seismic safety of piping taken the occurrence of such a large earthquake into account, when a crack exists in pipe welding joint. One of the key issues is the effect of excessive loading in the seismic response wave on the fatigue crack growth behaviour. We performed fatigue crack growth tests under constant amplitude cyclic loading with a single excessive tensile/compressive load for Ni-based alloy weld metal. Acceleration and retardation was confirmed in crack growth due to the excessive loading. The stress distribution in front of crack tip and the shape of crack tip were investigated to clarify the cause of changes of crack growth rate. A crack growth evaluation method has been proposed considering the effects of the excessive loading based on the variation of the stress distribution in front of crack tip and the crack blunting. The predicted crack growth rate by the proposed method was in good agreement with the experimental ones.

In thinking about an improvement of a performance in swimming, it is important to progress the self-propulsive force in swimming. The purpose of this study was to develop the equipment and procedure, which measured and evaluated by 3 type of swimming as follows ; Semi-tethered swimming (STS), stream swimming with water flow and STS with water flow. From the basis of these results, the mutual relations between swimming velocity, propulsive force and resistance in swimming were considered.

Velocities of a air plug rising through stagnant water in inclined annuli were examined on the effects of inclination of tubes, clearances between an outer tube and inner tubes and plug volume. The inside diameter of outer tube is 60mm and seven kinds of tubes with the differed outside diameter were used as the inner tube. The plug behavior due to inclination of tubes and clearances of passages is very complicated and the plug form and velocity were greatly influenced by them.

鋳造業における注湯作業は高温で危険であるにも関わらず自動化が遅れている。今回開発した自動注湯ロボットは, 搬送時には, スロッシングを発生させないで取鍋を搬送する。注湯時には, 鋳込み速度を向上させるため, 湯ロカップ内の液体を短時間で高いレベルまで立ち上げ, 保持する。取鍋の重量と傾動速度から, 流量予測制御により目標注湯量となるように湯切りをおこなう。また, 湯切り時にもスロッシングを抑制する。これらの一連の制御を研究室レベルの実験装置に適用して, 有効性を示す。

Railway vehicle is the most energy-saving vehicle. To improve a further energy-saving performance in existing cars, We Tokyo Metro have done various adjustments. The performance has been advanced, and the possibility and the technique have been established. The brake performance adjustment considered service line circumstances that it has been the problem so far has been done at the same time, too and the technique of coexisting with the energy-saving performance has been established.

半無限板の直線縁またはその付近に存在するき裂同志またはき裂と切欠きの干渉効果を体積力法によって計算した. 取扱った問題は, (a)遠方で引張りを受ける半無限板中の, (i)V形切欠き底のき裂, (ii)2個の縁き裂, (iii)先行き裂を伴う縁き裂, (iv)先端にだ円孔を有する縁き裂, および(b)き裂面に多項式で表される分布荷重を受ける縁き裂である. 最後の問題は切欠き底のき裂, 複数個の縁き裂などの応力拡大係数を近似的に求めるのに有効である.

Support Vector Machines (SVM) are learning machines with high performance about pattern recognition. But, SVM has some parameters decided preliminarily. As these parameters vary, SVM's recognition performance severely varies. In this paper, we propose an optimizing method of SVM's parameters using Reinforcement Learning. By the proposed method, the Actor-Critic method that is a kind of reinforcement learning was used. Actor-Critic method can use continuous action space. The effectiveness of the proposed method is confirmed by a one-dimension pattern recognition simulation. And, we verify practical effectiveness of the proposed method by experiments about handwritten character recognition. As results, the recognition rate of characters increased to about 90% with parameters of SVM optimized by the proposed method.

In the present study, a theoretical non-gray rigorous model was established to study the radiative heat transfer through greenhouse covering materials by using Radiative Element Method by Ray Emission Model (REM2). This model was applied to find the difference in thermal performances between silica glass, polyvinylchloride (PVC) and low density polyethylene (LDPE) covering materials. Using the advantage of the previously predicted spectral radiative properties of these materials, accurate estimations of greenhouse temperatures were achieved. In addition, an outdoor experiment was conducted to measure the thermal performances of three rectangular enclosures covered by the mentioned claddings. Enclosures inside, floor and cover temperatures calculated using the rigorous model showed a satisfactory correlation with the experimental measurements
