有風時の衣服の保温性低下に関する研究で,0.082m径の発熱円柱を使い4種の衣料(パンスト,タイツ,ラクダ,毛牝下)を実験した.接触層係数α*を考えた理論は,この実験の局所熱伝達率分布をよく表す.風が強くなると,身体に密着した薄いパンストやタイツが,むしろ毛靴下やラクダよりも保温性に優れる,理論的な計算結果はこのこともよく予想し得た.

1/10^<th> scale model flow test has been conducted to measure the fluid force acting on the upper internal structure in a sodium reactor. This model has already been constructed and it couldn't be re-arranged including its flow section. Then, the internal structure is supported with flexible rods to measure the response, preventing the effect on the flow pattern. The exciting force by flowing fluid is analyzed by solving an inverse problem, where the exciting force is obtained by screening the vibration characteristics from the responding vibration signal. Because the real exciting force has not known, two methods, from the acceleration response and from the strain gage attached on the supporting rods, are tried to obtain the same force, and they show a reasonable coincidence

Fracture behaviors of brittle polycrystalline solids such as ceramic materials are deeply related to microcracking. Continuum damage mechanics is considered a powerful theoretical framework to deal with brittle microcracking materials, however, it is fairly difficult to obtain analytically as well as experimentally evolution equations for microcracking and reduced elastic compliances of microcracked solids. In the present study, a mesoscopic (grain level) simulation method using a discontiuum mechanics model is proposed to solve these problems. The validity and limitations of the isotropic theory of continuum damage mechanics are studied in the first report.

ペデスタル成分とドップラ成分の両方に敷居値を設定することによって気流と粒子の信号分離が満足になされることを示した. この測定法を用いて気流および粒子の平均速度, 変動速度, 確立密度分布さらに気流乱れのスペクトルを求めた. その結果, 気流の乱れは粒子によって著しく減少すること, また粒子によって気流乱れの高周波成分は相対的に増加し, 低周波成分が減少することなどを明らかにした.

In this study, a test of exhaust gas noise reduction is reported through the application of a heat-resistant epoxide resin, in place of a steel motorcycle muffler of a gas engine exhaust system. The findings show that this resin muffler results in a noise reduction without decreasing the engine efficiency, even in a restricted space. The experiments were conducted using the same shape for the steel and resin mufflers which were set at the outlet of a 250 ml engine exhaust system. The noise level of the exhaust gas after being introduced into the shielding compartment was measured by a standard noise-meter and FFT analyzer for the comparison of noise reduction effect.

The motion of balls in a tumbling ball mill was simulated numerically using the discrete element method (DEM). Simulations are performed for the two-dimensional and three-dimensional cases. To study the difference between two-dimensional and three-dimensional powder milling analyses, the ball motion was analyzed. It was found that there is no significant difference between the flow patterns for the two-dimensional and three-dimensional cases, but some properties such as the trajectory of the center of the gravity of the balls, the profile of the average velocity vector, the average ball velocity and the fluctuation velocities of the balls show significant differences.

平成17年9月発行した"自動車技術者のためのビークルダイナミクス"を主な理由として、このたび交通物流部門業績賞を受賞しますことを誠に光栄と感じております。年初に選考委員会の推薦を受けて大変戸惑いを覚え、「発行後半年足らずで読者の評価も未だ定まっていないので」と一度は辞退したのですが、もしも読者の中に「この程度でも受賞できる」と励みに思う方が在るならば、意義無いことでもないと自分なりの受賞の理由を見つけて、委員会の再度のご意向に応えることにしました。自動車の研究開発実務から離れて10数年経て今は最新技術について論じることは出来ないので、拙著に盛り込めなかった事、推敲不十分で説明不足な項、あえて行った普遍化もされてない提案、あるいは現状の問題点など、自分の研究経過も紹介しながら、お話をしてみようと思います。脈絡のない断片的な話の中からでも何かを感じて頂けるならば、もしも読者の方々に何かのヒントにして頂けるならば幸いです。

In this study, the exhaust gas noise reduction is reported through the application of a heat resistant epoxide resin, in place of a 1.5 L 4-cycle gas engine steel muffler. The findings show that this resin muffler of the same shape as a steel muffler results in noise reduction without decreasing the engine efficiency, even in a restricted space. Being measured by a standard noisemeter and FFT analyzer, the noise reduction effect was analyzed to have a relationship with the temperature of the muffler, and with the frequency.

大地震等の大規模災害時には被災者を早期に救出する必要がある。本研究では, 倒壊家屋内の様な狭隘部での移動体として, これまでにない移動方式をとる螺旋体型移動体を取り上げる。これは螺旋状の鍔を持つ多節体を螺旋状にくねらせて瓦礫内に入っていく移動体である。本機体はその構造上, 水陸両用の移動体となりうる。そこで, そのために最適な形状と移動方式について検討し, その妥当性を実験によって検証する。

We present a new learning control method to control a multi-input-output system. In conventional learning controllers using a neural network, it is difficult to treat a multi-input-output system because of the difficulty in designing reference models. Hence, we propose to divide a complex plant into sub-plants and to use a learning controller for each one. We use our method to the regulation problem of the inverted pendulum that is a one-input, two-output system. In the simulation and the experimental system, we regulate the inverted pendulum and show the effectiveness of this method. We also show that our learning control system can regulate a system that has a time lag between the input and the output signals. Moreover, we show that a reference model of order lower than the plant order is available.

噴霧気流の優れた伝熱特性を利用して,フインを全く使用しない半導体冷却用放熱器の開発を志し,水噴霧と送風作用とを同時に営む噴霧気流発生装置を考案し,これと噴霧冷却面とを極めてコンパクトなユニットにまとめることに成功した.本報はその基磋研究の第一歩として,まず熱交換流路の一面が熱流束一様加熱で他面断熱の場合を取り上げ,送風量一定のもとで行った実験結果を記述したものである.

首都圏郊外では、郊外鉄道は都心までのアクセス手段として充実したサービスを提供しており、高い交通機関分担率を示しているが、日中の地域内交通としては必ずしも高くない。本研究では、日中の地域内交通としての鉄道利用の顕在化を妨げている要因を明らかにすることを目的として、東急田園都市線沿線の郊外地域を対象にアンケート調査を実施した。調査結果より、アクセス交通の問題を含む「総移動時間の長さ」、「鉄道の移動性の低さ」が地域内交通としての鉄道利用の顕在化を妨げている大きな要因であることが明らかになった。

The aim of this investigation is to understand the generation mechanism of aero-acoustic feedback noise radiated from rear-view mirrors. In order to clarify the relationship between the velocity fluctuation and radiated noise, correlation in terms of aerodynamic noise and velocity fluctuations were measured in a low-noise wind tunnel. The experimental results showed that noise level of the tonal-noise depended on the ratio of the height of the bump to the thickness of the boundary layer. Strong tonal-noise was generated when the height of the bump was almost equal to 40% of the height of the boundary layer. The tonal-noise level also depended on the length between the trailing-edge of the bump and the edge of rear-view mirror. The frequency of the tonal noise can be calculated by modified Rossiter equation. The tonal-noise was disappeared in the case of the bump was placed at separated boundary layer. It revealed that the seed of the tonal noise was small disturbances generated by the bump on the surface of the rear-view mirror.

The economic and finance systems related to dynamic real world are too huge complex systems to understand the principles of these behavior. Many researchers, i.e., economists, mathematicians, sociologists, computer scientists, and so on, have hoped for long time to model and clarify the inner meaning of such phenomenon. The one of difficulty for these researches is for lack of paradigm that describes the relationship between realistic economic agents with bounded learning or evolving rationality and the emergence macro behavior as aggregation of such agents. Since the first success of research program by Brian Arthur et al., agent-based simulation with bottom-up approach is approved as third mode following theory and experiment against the economic and finance systems. The paradigm of agent-based simulation enables us to naturally introduce bounded learning or evolving rationality to agents. In fact, many researchers study on such systems based on agent-based computer simulation for understanding and elucidating the macro and micro behavior and the emergence between these behavior, and many interesting results are reported based on their computer simulations. It seems for agent-based approach to greatly succeed, however, there are some points at issue in this approach. One point is that these researches generally consist of complicated models and complacently computer simulation programs, and it is unreasonable for other researchers to rubber-stamp the results by a certain researcher. Many models and results are reported, and it is difficult to compare with and refer to these results each other. The another point is that it is difficult to experiment computer simulations for researchers having no skill of computer programming even if they have innovative idea of agent-based model. Especially, this agent-based research program needs participating of many researchers in various research fields for development of this research field, and a researcher well acquainted with computer technology has obligation to provide and develop agent-based simulation tools. According to these background, it is desired to found the forum with common models or simulation tools for promotion of agent-based economics or finance. The X-Economy project aims to found the global standard forum for agent-based economics and finance. As the purpose of first step in X-Economy project, we are concretely struggling to establish the standard model of agent-based economics, the model and rules of self-closed and confrontal game as RoboCup soccer game, the software systems based on open source and communication protocols among such systems, and the software library of various agents in the simulation. The standardization of several ideas of our project, e.g., the softwares, simulation models for researches, results, and so on, is entirely based on open source, and this is the characteristic of our project. Although our project is just beginning, several prototype systems are available, and some research program are worked. In this paper, we introduce the outline of X-Economy system prototype for design and simulation of artificial market. This prototype is based on server-client module structure on TCP/IP connection and XML-based XSS (eXtensible Social System) protocols. This paper includes the image, the components, protocols, implementation techniques of X-Economy tools, and the simulation example and screenshot of our system.
