A presentation practice in Japanese by rubric evaluation using TED talks as an educational tool was performed. The practical objectives were the acquisition of (1) presentation skills and the abilities of (2) adequate information collecting, (3) planning and (4) cooperating. From the questionnaires for the students, almost all of them realized that all the objectives were achieved. Additionally, using two TED talks and reviewing using rubric and review sheets for groups and individuals were particularly effective for achieving the objectives (1) , (1) and (3) , respectively. The rubric evaluation results obtained from the presentation groups and the student members were both comparable to those obtained from teachers in charge of the practice.

An idea of systematization to improve a quality of both product and process of each project in university is introduced. The method of project management, which is well known as PMBOK (Project Management Body Of Knowledge) GUIDE, that is practically a world standard used in business world, is applied to improve project activities in this study as a methodology for the processes of projects. In addition, student awareness for completing project activities is also important. To satisfy this requirement, a definition of “Fundamental Competencies for Working Person” defined by Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, Japan in 2006 is also applied in this study. Utilizing the above standard and definition, formats for project planning and regular report to improve the project activities are introduced. From survey of awareness level on the competency factors of “Fundamental Competencies for Working Person” , students who have experienced project activities aware of the competency factors that are important in the project process to create project outputs. On the other hand, there were some project activities that could not be completed as planned, and it was recognized that management to guide students by teaching staff to complete the outputs are necessary. From research results, a style to improve the projects activities in universities are systematized.

In this paper, a universal design shogi game “Fureai Doubutsu Shogi” that can be played only by tactile sense and allows people with a low vision to play with sighted people on an equal condition. From the questionnaire results of the prototype, a majority of people answered that it was useful for the training of spatial grasp and memory. In addition, it was found that it could help the communication beyond the existence of the barrier between students.

Focusing on digitalization of answering and automation of grading of tests, this paper describes migration from descriptive test to an objective test format using optical answer sheets. In a specific example, a test was used to generate a class diagram from source code. In doing so, it proposes an answer format that would not impede freedom of answering. It describes the process of trial and error through the development of its proposal as well as the adoption of optical answer sheets and the questions used. It then reports on practice using these answer sheets. In the practical example it presents, grading was completed in approximately 20 minutes from the time the answer sheets were scanned after the test.

This paper describes the diversity promotion efforts which support students with disabilities and sexual minorities at technical universities. By reference to examples of reasonable accommodation, we have identified that adjusting the balance between reasonable accommodation for students and safety in the experiments and graduation researches might have been important especially at technical universities. The results of the questionnaire conducted for the students indicated that it is important to disseminate the efforts to promote diversity at the university for both the students who need reasonable accommodation and the students who do not need reasonable accommodation in order to enrich their university life. We concluded that it is necessary to provide students the opportunities in which they can accept diverse values and have their own ideas.

先端技術者育成トラストより1992年12月に助成金の交付決定を受けた,東京大学大学院法学政治学研究科の修士課程専修コースにおける「技術法務」従事者育成事業の由来・内容・実施状況,現時点での効果,今後の課題についての事例報告。「技術法務」従事者育成事業とは,急速な技術革新,社会経済の構造変化と国際化に伴って発生した知的所有権の法的保護,製造物責任,産業廃棄物処理,地球環境汚染,裁判外民事紛争解決手続などに関する新しい法律問題につき,製造業界の企業法務担当者を主たる対象にして,大学院修士課程レベルでのリフレッシュ教育を実施する計画である。

The digital transformation of society and universities has been accelerating in the COVID-19 pandemic. The digital transformation of education will advance beyond distance and time by utilizing digital technology and develop international and industry-university collaboration. The Japanese Society for Engineering Education initiated a survey and research committee in April 2021. First, the direction of the digital transformation of engineering education will be presented through a multifaceted survey of social needs, information technology, international collaboration, and industry-academia-government collaboration. Secondly, as an advanced model, the realization of graduate and recurrent education in international inter-university and industry-academia collaboration is investigated. This paper is an interim report.

As of 2021, the demand for online lectures has increased, and it has become difficult to understand students′ learning status in programming practice classes. Therefore, to effectively enhance learners′ motivation and ability even in online lectures, we developed an online programming environment that allows teachers to monitor how learners are programming in real-time. Our environment is flexible enough to support practical application development exercises, and the operation logs are recorded in detail. We introduced our environment to a hybrid lecture, including online and face-to-face lectures, and the analysis results showed some tendencies, such as the higher the grade, the more often the program was executed. The questionnaire survey results showed that about 90% of the students gave a positive opinion, but some improvements were found to be necessary. In the future, we will work on implementing features that were deemed necessary to improve the quality of the lecture.

We constructed VR system that enables mutual criticism while experiencing the students′ architectural design works in full scale. The features of this VR system are the following two points; multiplayer mode in which multiple people can view as avatars at the same time was realized, and a parameter of occlusion culling for smooth drawing was clearly given. We asked university students of architecture to try mutual critique of their architectural design works using this VR system. As a result, not only design concept of each building but also a lot of detail ideas on their building surface were mutually conveyed.
