A super-resolution algorithm is proposed to solve the problem of measuring the thin thickness of oil slick using compressed sensing theory. First, a mathematical model of a single pulse underwater ultrasonic echo is established. Then, the estimation model of the transmit time of flight (TOF) of ultrasonic echo within oil slick is given based on the sparsity of echo signals. At last, the super-resolution TOF value can be obtained by solving the sparse convex optimization problem. Simulations and experiments are conducted to validate the performance of the proposed method.

無線通信におけるチャネル割当とグラフ理論における彩色問題は古くから関連性が示され,様々な研究がなされてきた.その中で多くの理論的な研究は,割当てるチャネル数の最小化を目指したものである.筆者らは以前の報告においてGrundy Coloringと呼ばれる色数が最大となる彩色を取り上げ,必要なチャネルを見積もり,幾つかの結果を示した.また,筆者らは以前に,チャネル干渉の程度を取り入れた従来のグラフ彩色を拡張した問題を提案し,幾つかの結果を得ている.本文では,Grundy Coloringに関して,干渉の程度を考慮した場合の点彩色について考察し,幾つかの結果とこれまでの結果との関連を述べる.

A novel quasi-planar five-port E-plane waveguide power divider with new computer-aided design method is proposed, which lower down the fabrication costs and expand application of waveguide components in the higher frequency ranges, integrations and massive die-casting productions of microwave circuits. A sample, planar five-port E-plane power divider operating between 3.1GHz and 3.6GHz, is designed from an initial concept of the well-known branch-line waveguide coupler. The sample circuit is fabricated and measured. Tested results show that the input reflection is lower than -25dB, insertion loss lower than 0.1dB. The amplitude difference between two output ports is smaller than 0.04dB, and the phase difference between the two output ports smaller than 0.3 degree.

In this paper, a metadata-based quality-estimation model is proposed for tile-based omnidirectional video streaming services, aiming to realize quality monitoring during service provision. In the tile-based omnidirectional video (ODV) streaming services, the ODV is divided into tiles, and the high-quality tiles and the low-quality tiles are distributed in accordance with the user's viewing direction. When the user changes the viewing direction, the user temporarily watches video with the low-quality tiles. In addition, the longer the time (delay time) until the high-quality tile for the new viewing direction is downloaded, the longer the viewing time of video with the low-quality tile, and thus the delay time affects quality. From the above, the video quality of the low-quality tiles and the delay time significantly impact quality, and these factors need to be considered in the quality-estimation model. We develop quality-estimation models by extending the conventional quality-estimation models for 2D adaptive streaming. We also show that the quality-estimation model using the bitrate, resolution, and frame rate of high- and low-quality tiles and that the delay time has sufficient estimation accuracy based on the results of subjective quality evaluation experiments.

In recent years, there has been a spurt of activities to explore the terahertz (THz) band comprising frequencies above 100 GHz to support high data rates and low latency applications. In this light, the current study presents an overview of a novel in-house channel sounder operating at 300 GHz followed by elaboration of a high-resolution double-directional channel measurement performed in an office environment. The letter validates the sounder, wherein the measurement accuracy is assessed by comparing the results from the campaign and ray-tracing (RT) simulation. The measurement system is expected to contribute to the advancement of THz communications research.

This paper presents a novel compact and broadband filtering balun using N-shaped spoof surface plasmon polaritons (SSPPs). The N-shaped SSPP unit cell’s lateral size has a 48% reduction compared to the rectangle-shaped counterpart. The proposed filtering balun is constructed by periodically etching N-shaped and mode-matching SSPP unit cells into the slotline balun consisting of the microstrip-to-slotline transition structures. The combination of the N-shaped SSPP unit cells and slotline balun realize the compactness and the broadband bandpass filtering response. Moreover, we can individually adjust the passband’s lower and upper cut-off frequencies. Due to the larger phase constant of the N-shaped SSPP unit cell, the field-confined ability of the proposed filtering balun is enhanced. The proposed design is fabricated and measured. It has advantages in bandwidth, stopband performance, size, and degree of design freedom compared with existing SSPP filtering baluns.

Thin films of Teflon AF 1600 were prepared by an electron-assisted (e-assist) deposition method. IR analysis revealed that the e-assist deposition generates small amount of polar groups such as carboxylic acid in the molecular structure of the deposited films. The polar groups contributed to increase intermolecular interaction and led to remarkable improvement in the adhesion strength and robustness of the films especially when a bias voltage was applied to the substrate in the course of e-assist deposition. The vapor-deposited Teflon AF films had refractive indices of 1.35 to 1.38, and were effective for antireflection coatings. The use of e-assist deposition slightly increased the refractive index as a trade-off for the improvement of film robustness.

This paper proposes a method in calculating the field distribution of the cross section in a transverse electromagnetic (TEM) cell based on the method of finite difference. Besides, E-field uniformity of the cross section is analyzed with the calculation results and the measured field strength. Analysis indicates that theoretical calculation via method proposed in this paper can guide the setup of E-field probes to some extent when it comes to the E-field uniformity analysis in a TEM cell.

This study proposes a novel design method of a neuromorphic electronic circuit: design of a neuromorphic circuit based on appropriately selected hybrid dynamics of sequential logic with a single clock, sequential logic with multiple clocks, and numerical integration. Based on the proposed design method, a novel central nervous system model of C. elegans is presented. It is shown that the presented model can realize typical responses of a conventional central nervous system model of C. elegans. Furthermore, the presented model is implemented by a field programmable gate array and is used to control a prototype robot of C. elegans body. Experiments validate that the presented central nervous system model enables the body robot to reproduce typical chemotaxis behaviors of the conventional C. elegans model. In addition, comparisons show that the presented model consumes fewer circuit elements and lower power compared to various central nervous system models of C. elegans based on the sequential logics and the numerical integration.

Promoting the use of public transport (PT) is considered to be an effective way to reduce the number of passenger cars. The concept of Mobility-as-a-Service (MaaS), which began in Europe and is now spreading rapidly around the world, is expected to help to improve the convenience of PT on the viewpoint of users, using the latest information communication technology and Internet of Things technologies. This paper outlines the concept of MaaS in Europe and the efforts made at the policy level. It also focuses on the development of MaaS from the viewpoint of promoting the use of PT in Japan.

This paper presents development of passive channel sounder using software defined radio based receivers and commercial transmitter operating in cellular network. Accuracy of developed channel sounder is verified by over-the-air path gain measurement in outdoor open space. For evaluation, line-of-sight path gain is estimated using correlation method and is compared with theoretical path gain.

In this paper, the planar subarray structure to be optimized by using random search method for large active array antenna is presented. Although MPSL of the optimized subarray structure is 1.09dB higher, G/T of the optimized subarray structure is 2.07dB higher than the reference subarray structure.

Mobile edge computing (MEC) technology guarantees the privacy and security of large-scale data in the Narrowband-IoT (NB-IoT) by deploying MEC servers near base stations to provide sufficient computing, storage, and data processing capacity to meet the delay and energy consumption requirements of NB-IoT terminal equipment. For the NB-IoT MEC system, this paper proposes a resource allocation algorithm based on deep reinforcement learning to optimize the total cost of task offloading and execution. Since the formulated problem is a mixed-integer non-linear programming (MINLP), we cast our problem as a multi-agent distributed deep reinforcement learning (DRL) problem and address it using dueling Q-learning network algorithm. Simulation results show that compared with the deep Q-learning network and the all-local cost and all-offload cost algorithms, the proposed algorithm can effectively guarantee the success rates of task offloading and execution. In addition, when the execution task volume is 200KBit, the total system cost of the proposed algorithm can be reduced by at least 1.3%, and when the execution task volume is 600KBit, the total cost of system execution tasks can be reduced by 16.7% at most.

ブロックチェーン(BC)の一形態として,特定組織間でBCネットワークを形成するパーミッション型BCが有望技術として注目されている.パーミッション型BCでデータを共有する際,組織の一部に対してデータを見せたくないケースが存在する.パーミッション型BCでは,BCサーバを保有してBCサービスを構築・運用する組織(Own型組織)と,BCサーバを保有せず,API経由等で情報格納サービスとしてBCを利用する組織(Join型組織)が存在する.パーミッション型BCはJoin型組織向けにはデータ秘匿機能を提供しておらず,Join型組織は秘匿したいデータをOwn型組織に預けることになり,安心・安全にBCサービスを利用できない課題が生じる.本研究では,BCサーバ単位のデータ共有範囲制御によって各BCサーバにプライベート領域を用意し,秘密分散を用いて分解したBCへの格納データの断片をプライベート領域にそれぞれ格納することで,データを秘匿可能にする手法を提案・検証する.検証ではBCへの物流取引データ格納に本手法を適用した結果,Join型組織向けのデータ秘匿機能を,性能低下率1%未満で提供可能であることを示した.

Reinforcement learning is promising as a machine learning paradigm in edge computing. However, its high computational cost poses a challenge when implementing in devices with limited circuit resources and power consumption. In this study, we investigated the relationship between the bit-length of floating-point operations and the learning performance of the reinforcement learning algorithm. In the case of the FrozenLake maze problem, we found that the learning performance of 8-bit floating-point arithmetic decreased, while that of 16-bit floating-point arithmetic was comparable to that of 64-bit CPU arithmetic. Our results provide a practical guideline for designing a dedicated reinforcement learning hardware with minimum circuit resources and power consumption.

微細化・積層化が容易な酸化物半導体を用いることで,高集積化を目標としたハードウェアによる大規模な多層ニューロモルフィックデバイスの研究,開発を行った.酸化物半導体にはアモルファスIn-Ga-Zn-O(IGZO)を用い,IGZO薄膜が2層となる3次元構造デバイスの作製を行った.IGZOの電気的特性を,生物のシナプス素子の学習則であるヘブの学習則を応用させた修正ヘブの学習則の,重み付け原理で利用した.また,作製したデバイスでパターン認識学習を行った場合をシミュレーションすることでデバイスが知的学習が可能であるかの確認を行った後,実験を行い,シミュレーションと同様に学習が可能であることを実証した.結果として2文字の文字パターンである0と1の学習に成功し.ニューロモルフィックデバイスとして作製したデバイスが有用であることを示した.

酸化チタン32 phr及び炭素粒子1 phrを含むエポキシ樹脂の50~110 GHzにおける複素比誘電率は,無反射曲線の近傍にあり,しかも周波数の変化とともにほぼ無反射曲線に沿って変化する.このため,厚さを変化させることにより,任意の周波数に対応した電波吸収体を実現できることが確認されている.本論文では,この材料の5~26 GHz帯における複素比誘電率を測定した結果,これらの周波数帯においてもその値はほぼ無反射曲線上に存在することを示すとともに,一例として5 GHz帯における電波吸収体を設計,製作し,40 dB以上の吸収性能を有する電波吸収体が実現できることを確認した.

A hopping rover is a robot that can move in low gravity planets by the characteristic motion called the hopping motion. For its autonomous explorations, the so-called SLAM (Simultaneous Localization and Mapping) is a basic function. SLAM is the combination of estimating the position of a robot and creating a map of an unknown environment. Most conventional methods of SLAM are based on odometry to estimate the position of the robot. However, in the case of the hopping rover, the error of odometry becomes considerably large because its hopping motion involves unpredictable bounce on the rough ground on an unexplored planet. Motivated by the above discussion, this paper addresses a problem of finding an optimal movement of the hopping rover for the estimation performance of the SLAM. For the problem, we first set the model of the SLAM system for the hopping rover. The problem is formulated as minimizing the expectation of the estimation error at a pre-specified time with respect to the sequence of control inputs. We show that the optimal input sequence tends to force the final position to be not at the landmark but in front of the landmark, and furthermore, the optimal input sequence is constant on the time interval for optimization.
