This paper proposes an algorithm for estimating the location of wireless access points (APs) in indoor environments to realize smartphone positioning based on Wi-Fi without pre-constructing a database. The proposed method is designed to overcome the main problem of existing positioning methods requiring the advance construction of a database with coordinates or precise AP location measurements. The proposed algorithm constructs a local coordinate system with the first four APs that are activated in turn, and estimates the AP installation location using Wi-Fi round-trip time (RTT) lateration and the ranging results between the APs. The effectiveness of the proposed algorithm is confirmed by conducting experiments in a real indoor environment consisting of two rooms of different sizes to evaluate the positioning performance of the algorithm. The experimental results showed the proposed algorithm using Wi-Fi RTT lateration delivers high smartphone positioning performance without a pre-constructed database or precise AP location measurements.

This letter presents an integrated 5G NR n79-band power amplifier with high power and efficiency that was fabricated using WIN Semiconductors’ 0.25-μm GaN/SiC technology. The stability and linearity issues of the PA is thoroughly considered. High efficiency and broadband operation were achieved using a continuous Class-F mode output matching network. This two-stage PA had a power gain, 3-dB power bandwidth, saturation power, and peak power-added efficiency of 20.4dB, 3.6-5.4GHz, 39.1dBm, and 50.9%, respectively. Its average output power was 33.3dBm under an error vector magnitude requirement of 3.5% for a 5G NR FR1 256-QAM 100-MHz-bandwidth modulated signal with a frequency of 3.7-5.0GHz.

Society5.0の実現には,つながるデバイスの認証だけでなく,企業の知財保護の観点からAIエッジデバイスで利用するモデル情報を保護する必要がある.本論文では,新たに知財保護を指向したAIエッジ・認証併用システムを提案する.提案手法では,Physically Unclonable Function(PUF)を用いることで,デバイスの認証に加えてAIモデルの不正利用を防止する.評価実験では提案手法を用いることで,不正に複製されたAIエッジデバイスでは,回路構成がオリジナルと同一でも推論精度を10%以上低下させることに成功し,提案手法が有効であることを明らかにした.

A high voltage, external capacitor-less low-dropout regulator (HVLDO) with transient enhancement loop is presented in this work. The proposed HVLDO is designed with high withstand voltage laterally-diffused MOS (LDMOS) transistors and a transient enhancement loop is proposed to properly inject/sink current to/from the gate and output nodes of the power transistors to achieve fast transient response and high stability. Fabricated in 0.5µm SOI BCD process, the HVLDO occupies an active area of 0.29mm2. Operating with an input voltage ranging from 5.2 to 20V, it supplies an output voltage of 5V and a maximum load of 100mA. For all load conditions, this design has the power supply rejection of -49dB@100kHz, the phase margin over 68.4deg and achieves a temperature coefficient of 13.15ppm/°C. Measurement results show that this design has a line regulation of 0.88mV/V and a load regulation of 0.22mV/mA. The proposed HVLDO features fast line transient response of 60/20mV@9.8V/µs, fast load transient response of 30/70mV@100mA/µs, and recovery time of 2µs without external capacitors. Compared with the prior art, this work achieves the best transient FOM of 12.19fs.

Many optimisation algorithms improve the algorithm from the perspective of population structure. However, most improvement methods simply add hierarchical structure to the original population structure, which fails to fundamentally change its structure. In this paper, we propose an umbrellalike hierarchical artificial bee colony algorithm (UHABC). For the first time, a historical information layer is added to the artificial bee colony algorithm (ABC), and this information layer is allowed to interact with other layers to generate information. To verify the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm, we compare it with the original artificial bee colony algorithm and five representative meta-heuristic algorithms on the IEEE CEC2017. The experimental results and statistical analysis show that the umbrellalike mechanism effectively improves the performance of ABC.

Massive MIMO is expected to realize a large capacity for wireless communication technology. To reduce the number of devices of the massive MIMO, utilizing a two-dimensional Butler matrix for the feed circuit has been investigated, but complexing its design. We have proposed a Massive MIMO configuration using a stacked Butler matrix and a staircase array antenna to reduce the circuit design cost. This letter proposes a V-shape staircase array antenna with a stacked Butler matrix to reduce antenna profile. Computer simulation clarifies the beam steering range for the proposed antenna.

This paper relates to study on a new deterministic particle swarm optimization (D-PSO) called Optimizer based on Spiking Neural-oscillator Networks (OSNNs). OSNNs have a swarm consisting of plural particles which search a solution space interacting with each other. A single particle consists of plural spiking neural oscillators (`spiking oscillators') modeled by integrate-and-fire neurons. The spiking oscillators are coupled by a network topology and interact with each other by exchanging their own spike signals. Such interaction results in that coupling spiking oscillators can take synchronous or asynchronous dynamics and affects search performances of OSNNs. Herein we propose the basic algorithm of OSNNs and applied Ring 1-way network topology to coupling spiking oscillators. We theoretically analyzed parameter conditions for OSNNs, demonstrated the analytic results, and verified search performances of OSNNs through numerical simulations. We also herein discuss search performances of OSNNs and the relationship between the search performances and analytic results, and clarify prospective parameter regions which lead to good search performances in solving optimization problems.

Companies listed on the stock exchange are required to share their annual reports with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) within the first three months following the fiscal year. These reports, namely 10-K Filings, are presented to public interest by the SEC through an Electronic Data Gathering, Analysis, and Retrieval database. 10-K Filings use standard file formats (xbrl, html, pdf) to publish the financial reports of the companies. Although the file formats propose a standard structure, the content and the meta-data of the financial reports (e.g. tag names) is not strictly bound to a pre-defined schema. This study proposes a data collection and data preprocessing method to semantify the financial reports and use the collected data for further analysis (i.e. machine learning). The analysis of eight different datasets, which were created during the study, are presented using the proposed data transformation methods. As a use case, based on the datasets, five different machine learning algorithms were utilized to predict the existence of the corresponding company in the S&P 500 index. According to the strong machine learning results, the dataset generation methodology is successful and the datasets are ready for further use.

This article presents a 28GHz high-accuracy phase and amplitude detection circuit for dual-polarized phased-array calibration. With dual-polarized calibration scheme, external LO signal is not required for calibration. The proposed detection circuit detects phase and amplitude independently, using PDC and ADC. By utilizing a 28GHz-to-140kHz downconversion scheme, the phase and amplitude are detected more accurately. In addition, reference signal for PDC and ADC is generated from 28GHz LO signal with divide-by-6 dual-step-mixing injection locked frequency divider (ILFD). This ILFD achieves 24.5-32.5GHz (28%) locking range with only 3.0mW power consumption and 0.01mm2 area. In the measurement, the detection circuit achieves phase and amplitude detections with RMS errors of 0.17degree and 0.12dB, respectively. The total power consumption of the proposed circuit is 59mW with 1-V supply voltage.

本論文では,1次元に並べたLEDを高速に点滅させ,サッカードと呼ばれる眼球運動中に網膜上に画像を知覚させるサッカード型ラインディスプレイに表示させる画像について,知覚感度を考慮した階調の補正手法を提案した.ウェーバー・フェヒナーの法則に基づき指数的な階調補正を行った画像と,従来の線形な階調の画像を比較し,視認性の主観評価を行った.その結果,効果が高いと予想される中階調や高諧調を多く含む画像については,視認性の向上が見られた.また,サッカード中に視認性の良い空間周波数領域を明確にするために,0.09~2.9 [c/deg]の範囲の6種類の垂直方向の格子模様の画像を表示し,主観評価実験により原画像通りに知覚できる空間周波数の範囲を特定した.これらの評価結果により,サッカード型ラインディスプレイの階調特性や空間周波数特性を明確に示すことができた.

Hidden Singer is a television program in Korea. In the show, the original singer and four imitating singers sing a song in hiding behind a screen. The audience and TV viewers attempt to guess who the original singer is by listening to the singing voices. Usually, there are few correct answers from the audience, because the imitators are well trained and highly skilled. We propose a computerized system for distinguishing the original singer from the imitating singers. During the training phase, the system learns only the original singer's song because it is the one the audience has heard before. During the testing phase, the songs of five candidates are provided to the system and the system then determines the original singer. The system uses a 1-class authentication method, in which only a subject model is made. The subject model is used for measuring similarities between the candidate songs. In this problem, unlike other existing studies that require artist identification, we cannot utilize multi-class classifiers and supervised learning because songs of the imitators and the labels are not provided during the training phase. Therefore, we evaluate the performances of several 1-class learning algorithms to choose which one is more efficient in distinguishing an original singer from among highly skilled imitators. The experiment results show that the proposed system using the autoencoder performs better (63.33%) than other 1-class learning algorithms: Gaussian mixture model (GMM) (50%) and one class support vector machines (OCSVM) (26.67%). We also conduct a human contest to compare the performance of the proposed system with human perception. The accuracy of the proposed system is found to be better (63.33%) than the average accuracy of human perception (33.48%).

Direction of arrival (DOA) estimation has been a primary focus of research for many years. Research on DOA estimation continues to be immensely popular in the fields of the internet of things, radar, and smart driving. In this paper, a simple new two-dimensional DOA framework is proposed in which a triangular array is used to receive wideband linear frequency modulated continuous wave signals. The mixed echo signals from various targets are separated into a series of single-tone signals. The unwrapping algorithm is applied to the phase difference function of the single-tone signals. By using the least-squares method to fit the unwrapped phase difference function, the DOA information of each target is obtained. Theoretical analysis and simulation demonstrate that the framework has the following advantages. Unlike traditional phase goniometry, the framework can resolve the trade-off between antenna spacing and goniometric accuracy. The number of detected targets is not limited by the number of antennas. Moreover, the framework can obtain highly accurate DOA estimation results.

インターネットを介したサービスとしてソーシャルネットワーキングサービス(SNS)が普及し,特に短文を投稿するTwitterにはその時々の情報が投稿されており,災害時の状況収集ツールとしても期待されている.このとき,災害情報のみを抽出する採集手法が必要であり,本論文では採集者による教師データを必要としない自己教師あり準リアルタイムでの採集方式を提案する.本方式は,主題となる検索語のみを入力とし,ストリームデータであるtweet列から採集する自己教師あり分類器である.これまでのTweet分類では短文性による困難さが指摘され,災害情報の事後分析を目的とした研究では人手による検索語集合を用いたフィルタリングが主流であった.そこで,会話を文書と見做すことで判定精度を改善し,更に会話内の部分単位での分析過程を導入した.実データを用いた数種の実験で,既存手法に対して精度良く見落とし少なく,また,当初の自己教師生成待ち時間以後はほぼリアルタイムでの採集を行えることを確認し,会話内の部分単位での分析が有効であることも明らかにした.

Traffic congestion is closely associated with various social issues that must be solved urgently. With the recent advancement of machine learning technologies, diverse methods for predicting traffic congestion have been developed. Specifically, traffic prediction using deep learning can provide highly accurate performance. Nevertheless, several difficulties remain because of the complexity of deep learning models: particularly, they require large amounts of data and computational power. For this study, we strive to achieve traffic prediction precision using a simple linear model. Instead of improving complex models, we select training data appropriately with a linear model and then verify the feasibility of prediction by exploring “data complexity”. The prediction results imply that the linear model is as precise as deep learning even with fewer number of data and parameters. We use actual data from expressways collected using detectors.

Animating 3D characters using motion capture data requires basic expertise and manual labor. To support the creativity of animation design and make it easier for common users, we present a sketch-based interface DualMotion, with rough sketches as input for designing daily-life animations of characters, such as walking and jumping. Our approach enables to combine global motions of lower limbs and the local motion of the upper limbs in a database by utilizing a two-stage design strategy. Users are allowed to design a motion by starting with drawing a rough trajectory of a body/lower limb movement in the global design stage. The upper limb motions are then designed by drawing several more relative motion trajectories in the local design stage. We conduct a user study and verify the effectiveness and convenience of the proposed system in creative activities.

This paper proposes a near-field focused (NFF) planar transmitarray with low profile operating in the C-band. A frequency selective surface (FSS) unit cell with a profile of only 0.15λ is designed by combining generalised scattering theory with full-wave simulations. To achieve better focusing, the transmission phase of the central unit cell of the transmitarray is adjusted to 90°. The focusing relative bandwidth is 13.7% at a centre frequency of 5.8GHz, which enables a good focusing effect to be achieved. Meanwhile, this paper evaluates the microwave power received at the receiver when the proposed transmitarray used in MPT system. The measured results show that loading the proposed transmitarray can improve the received power up to 510%. Futhermore, in the range of 220-660mm from the transmitarray, the received power can be increased to more than 300%.

We report a single-layer frequency selective dual band reflectarray operated at 28 and 39GHz simultaneously. The reflectarray consists of cross dipole and spiral elements aligned on the surface of a substrate and dual band frequency selective surfaces aligned on the rear side. We aligned the cross dipole and spiral elements that can control the reflection direction at 28 and 39GHz aligned on the same plane of the substrate, resulting in a simultaneous dual-band control of the reflection direction up to ±30° independently. Furthermore, the dual band reflectarray showed higher transmittance at frequencies except for the target frequencies, indicating the reflectarray function only at 28 and 39GHz and does not interfere with the other communication bands.

The equilibrium optimizer (EO) is a novel physics-based meta-heuristic optimization algorithm that is inspired by estimating dynamics and equilibrium states in controlled volume mass balance models. As a stochastic optimization algorithm, EO inevitably produces duplicated solutions, which is wasteful of valuable evaluation opportunities. In addition, an excessive number of duplicated solutions can increase the risk of the algorithm getting trapped in local optima. In this paper, an improved EO algorithm with a bis-population-based non-revisiting (BNR) mechanism is proposed, namely BEO. It aims to eliminate duplicate solutions generated by the population during iterations, thus avoiding wasted evaluation opportunities. Furthermore, when a revisited solution is detected, the BNR mechanism activates its unique archive population learning mechanism to assist the algorithm in generating a high-quality solution using the excellent genes in the historical information, which not only improves the algorithm's population diversity but also helps the algorithm get out of the local optimum dilemma. Experimental findings with the IEEE CEC2017 benchmark demonstrate that the proposed BEO algorithm outperforms other seven representative meta-heuristic optimization techniques, including the original EO algorithm.

本論文では,軽量暗号Midori128に対する耐タンパ実装を提案する.提案手法は,RSMをベースとすることで,小回路規模でMidori128のサイドチャネル解析に対する耐タンパ性を向上させる.実験では,提案手法を適用したMidori128をFPGA実装し,その安全性について評価した.そして,提案手法はサイドチャネル解析に対する耐タンパ性を有しており,小回路規模で実現可能であることを明らかにした.
