In this paper, a technique of magnetostatic field analysis for structural models with defect of arbitrary inclination angle is presented by adding a function obtained from conformal mapping to the approximate potential function based on the conventional FEM scheme. In this technique, geometry of the defect is not explicitly expressed on the orthogonal grid type FEM mesh but held as function within the analysis program. Since the change of the defect shape is reflected in that function, it becomes possible to use the original mesh without being changed. The magnetic flux density distribution around an inclined defect obtained by this presented technique showed good agreement with that from FEM analysis.

Conformal maps are applied for designing foldable forms. This method is able to produce the complicated developed patterns for the geometrical forms such as cones, disks, and tori with different main curvatures from the simple developed patterns for cylinders that are already known, based on the similarity of the quadrilateral elements that determine regular fold lines.

診療報酬は日本の医療費や診療内容に大きく影響する医療保険制度の根幹をなす仕組みであり,診療サービスの価格表にとどまらず,保険給付の範囲・内容を定めた「品目表」であり,また,医療現場のサービスや体制から国家財政に至るまで様々なレベルで強い影響力をもっている.診療報酬の設定は中央社会保険医療協議会(中医協)が中心的な役割を果たすとともに,医療政策の基本方針や政府予算編成と整合をとりながら実施される.

Background: Metastatic colorectal cancer carries a poor prognosis and cannot be cured by currently available therapy. Chemotherapy designed to prolong survival and improve the quality of life (QOL) of patients is the mainstay of treatment. Standard regimens of FOLFOX/bevacizumab and CapeOX/bevacizumab can cause neurotoxicity, potentially disrupting treatment. The results of 3 phase II studies of combination therapy with S-1, irinotecan, and bevacizumab showed comparable efficacy to mFOLFOX6/bevacizumab and CapeOX/bevacizumab, without severe neurotoxicity. Therefore, the establishment and evaluation of S-1-containing irinotecan-based regimens for first-line treatment are expected to become more important. Methods: The TRICOLORE trial is a multicenter, randomized, open-label, controlled phase III study which aims to evaluate the non-inferiority of combination therapy with S-1/irinotecan/bevacizumab (a 3-week regimen [SIRB] or 4-week regimen [IRIS/bevacizumab]) to oxaliplatin-based standard treatment (mFOLFOX6/bevacizumab or CapeOX/bevacizumab) in patients with metastatic colorectal cancer who had not previously received chemotherapy. Patients will be randomly assigned to either the control group (mFOLFOX6/bevacizumab or CapeOX/bevacizumab) or study group (SIRB or IRIS/bevacizumab). The target sample size is 450 patients. The primary endpoint is progression-free survival (PFS), and the secondary endpoints are overall survival (OS), response rate (RR), time to treatment failure (TTF), relative dose intensity (RDI), the incidence and severity of adverse events, quality of life (QOL), quality-adjusted life years (QALY), health care costs, and relations between biomarkers and treatment response (translational research, TR). Discussion: The results of this study will provide important information that will help to improve the therapeutic strategy for metastatic colorectal cancer, and we believe that this study is very meaningful from the perspective of comparative effectiveness research. 本論文では,種々の機能拡張に柔軟に対応できるQoS制御機構の実装法を提案し,SMILへの適用例を示す.提案手法では,仕様記述言語E-LOTOSのサブクラス(時間拡張LOTOSと呼ぶ)を中間言語として用いる.QoS制御機能は,システムを動画,音声の再生動作などを記述した主プロセスと,メディアスケーリング,メディア同期など追加したい機能のみを記述した制約プロセスとで構成し,それらを並列に同期実行させるという,制約指向スタイルを利用して実現する.またSMILに動的メディアスケーリング,メディア同期の精度指定の機構を追加したQOS-SMILを定義し,実装方法の適用例として示す.QOS-SMIL記述は対応する時間拡張LOTOS仕様に変換され,我々が開発している時間拡張LOTOSコンパイラを用いて実行される.いくつかの実験結果から,提案手法はQoS制御機能の開発コストに優れ,実行効率の点でも十分な性能を持っていることを確かめた.In this paper, we propose a flexible implementation technique forQoS control mechanisms and apply it to SMIL language.In the proposed technique, we use a subclass of E-LOTOS (calledreal-time LOTOS).We implement QoS control mechanisms using the constraint orientedstyle where a system is composed of a main process(e.g., video/audio playback) and several constraint processes (e.g.,media scaling, inter-media synchronization and so on). Usingthe multi-way synchronization mechanism of real-timeLOTOS, those processes run in parallel satisfying the specifiedconstraints.We define QOS-SMIL as an example extension of SMILwhere it has dynamic media scalingand explicit inter-media synchronization amongobjects, and show the applicability of our implementation technique.QOS-SMIL documents are converted to executable programs with ourreal-time LOTOS compiler. Through some experiments, we have confirmedthat the proposed technique has some advantages w.r.t. developmentcost for QoS control mechanisms and the derived programs haverelatively good performance for practical use.

3次元物体の幾何モデルが与えられたときに、単眼視画像から物体の姿勢を推定する間題について、位相幾何レベルでの解析結果を述べる。一般に姿勢推定問題は回転推定と並進権定に分離できるが、本稿では、より本質的である回転推定に議諭を限定する。取り扱う物体は、剛体を抽象化した概念であるベクトル剛体と、回転自由度1の関節を抽象化した概念である関節ベクトルから構成される任意の物体とする。ベクトル剛体は1組のベクトル集合で定義され、また、関節ベクトルは回転軸に対応するベクトルで定義される。各ベクトル剛体内では接続する関節ベクトルを含めて、角度関係がすべて既知であるものとする。このモデル記述により、物体はベクトル剛体と関節ベクトルで構成されるベクトル拘束グラフと呼ぷグラフで表現でき、従って、1枚の画像から各ベクトル剛体の姿勢を推定する問題も同様の記法で表現できることを述べる。次に、ベクトル拘束グラフで表された姿勢推定問題が可解であるか否かの判定法と、極小かつ可解な問題(基本問題と呼ぷ)を同定する方法を示す。さらに、具体的な基本問題を幾つかの例について示すとともに、基本問題相互の関係を一般的に論じる。特に、実用面から重要なサブクラスである(既知ベクトルを含まない)木構造問題について、すべての墓本問題が1つの置換定理によって関連付けられることを示す。また、既知ベクトルを含む基本問題、木構造以外の基本問題についても同様の議論を行う。

The petroleum ether extract of the red alga Laurencia obtusa afforded three new C15 acetogenins (cyclic ether enyne): (12Z)-cis-maneonene-D (1), (12E)-cis-maneonene-E (2), and (12Z)-trans-maneonene-C (3), along with one known cis-maneonene-A (4). Blood neutrophils were prepared, cultured, and incubated for 24, 48, and 72 h in medium with and without isolated compounds. Both morphology and DNA fragmentation methods assessed the percentage of neutrophils apoptosis in each culture. In the present study, several observations have been made concerning the apoptosis-inducing or inhibiting effect of 1 and 2. Both compounds had no inhibition of apoptosis but apoptosis was enhanced significantly by aging. However, 1 stimulated apoptosis of normal only at the initial 24 h. After that there was no significant difference in apoptosis with or without compound 1, while 2 stimulated apoptosis at all the times. The apoptosis induced by these two compounds was demonstrated by DNA fragmentation assay and microscopic observation. These observations suggest that compounds 1 and 2 may be involved in regulation of programmed death in the initiation and propagation of inflammatory responses.

この論文は国立情報学研究所の学術雑誌公開支援事業により電子化されました。According to some experts, the thinking of most Japanese tends to be intuitive and emotional rather than logical; as it is apparently shown by the structure and use of the Japanese language that gives more preponderance to social nuances than to logical exactness. Besides this cultural bias, experts describe the educational system in Japan as one that promotes rote memory learning rather than the development of the students' reasoning abilities. Under this context, this paper explores two questions : First, are Japanese students at clear cultural disadvantage in developing their logical reasoning when compared to students in other cultures? Second, to what extent does university schooling in Japan foster the development of students' logical reasoning? To answer them, a sample of Japanese university students took a test on reasoning abilities. The results show that they perform much higher than Mexican students, and probably higher than American students too. However, fourth and first year Japanese students have statistically the same scores. Therefore, the main conclusion is that, although Japanese are not handicapped by their language to have good reasoning skills, four years of university schooling do not seem to improve the students' reasoning abilities.
