Young of giant sciaenid, Argyrosomus japonicus (Temminck et Schlegel), were collected from coastal water of Kochi Prefecture, Japan. The young specimens, 18.0 to 44.9cm in total length, were compared morphologically and electrophoretically with adults, 72.5 to 135.0cm.Some morphological characters of the young did not agree with those of the adult described by a few researchers. It was ascertained that the proportions of head, orbit, and fin ray length changed gradually in relation with growth. Internal morphological characters, such as sagitta, diverticulum of the air-bladder, interorbital septum of neurocranium, show also changes in their shape. The form of caudal fin, which was one of the most important diagnostic characters of this species, also changed continuously from cuneate to truncate. These morphological changes seemed to be the reason why the young had never been recorded until now. There is a possibility that Nibea mi-ichthioides (Chu, Lo et Wu, 1963) which was synonymized with Argyrosomus amoyensis (Bleeker) by Trewavas (1977), may be the young of this species.To examine genetic identity of the young and adult specimens, the isozymes of muscle and liver were separated by starch-gel electrophoretic method. All of the alleles examined in the young well accorded with those of the adult.

By means of the lead X, Y, Z, the scalar recording of its component, a difference of the electrocardiogram was compared between the young and the old persons. They include the normal healthy and diseased ones. The former consisted of 88 elder and 32 younger persons. In this study, criteria of ventricular hypertrophy were sought.P-wave showed a positive or diphasic one in the lead X, Y, but a negative in the lead Z. QRS-wave also showed a positive one in the lead X, Y, and a diphasic or positive, in the lead Z. T. wave showed a positive one in the lead X, Y, and a negative in the lead Z.The frontal QRS axis calculated from the lead X, Y, exhibited a correlation with the Eintoven's triangle, although the normal range of the former was narrower than that of the latter.It was found that the mean spatial T-magnitude was smaller in the younger aged groups than in the elder groups. in hypertensive patients an increase of the elevational QRS-Vo was considered to be due a shift of the QRS vecthr to the left and posterior. It was also noted that the mean spatial QRS-T angle and QRS, T. magnitude were angmented. The mean spatial T-magnitude showed a decrease upon an elevation of the diastolic presure.Thus, it would seem that R×+R=≤ 20 mm is more quantitative method for criteria of the diagnosis of left ventricular hypertrophy.This leading method is found to be more quantitative method than ever before and to have fewer leading sited of the electrodes. Therefore, it may clinically be useful.

Otolaryngologists or allergologists, have only recently become familiar with the term laryngeal allergy or allergic laryngitis. However, laryngeal allergies have become increasingly noteworthy with increases in allergic diseases, such as nasal allergies, asthma and atopic dermatitis. Pollinosis patients allergic to Japanese cedar often complain of itching or the sensation of a foreign body in the larynx, in addition persistent coughing or soreness of the throat. The existence of laryngeal allergy was proven on the basis of study in rats sensitized with Japanese cedar pollen, in previous studies. In the present paper were view the nature, mechanisms, manifestations, differential diagnosis and treatment of laryngeal allergy, both fundamentally and clinically.
