本研究では,記号を用いて英文の構造を作図するWebアプリ「LangDraw」の特長とそれを実際に用いた英語の精読授業の結果を報告する。学習者自身が課題となる英文の構造を考え作図することにより,教師はその図を見るだけで学習者が英文構造をどのように捉えているのかを即座に把握できるというメリットがある。また,回答数は少ないものの,授業アンケート結果からは教師がLangDrawを用いて記号付けを実際に見せながら解説を行うことにより,学習者の理解が深まるメリットも示唆された。

11 歳女児.初潮以降3 回の月経周期に伴う右下腹部痛,腹部腫瘤および同部位圧痛を主訴に近医を受診したところ,腹部超音波にて骨盤内腫瘤を認め,精査目的に紹介となった.腹部CT にて重複子宮・膣と右膣閉鎖による右子宮膣留血腫を認めた.また右腎は無形成であった.Herlyn-Werner-Wunderlich 症候群(HWWS)と術前診断し,待機的手術を施行した.右膣閉鎖と膣壁膨隆を認め,膣中隔切開・内容液ドレナージ後,膣壁形成を施行した.以降,下腹部痛と腹部腫瘤は消失し,術後経過,月経発来も順調である.HWWS は,見かけ上,月経が正常に起こるため他の女性性器奇形(処女膜閉鎖,膣閉鎖)よりも診断が遅れることがある.治療は膣中隔切除と留血腫ドレナージで良好な成績を得られる.下腹部腫瘤と片側腎無形成を伴う二次性徴期女性の急性腹症に対しては,HWWS を考慮に入れて診断と治療を行うべきである.

コーンフラワーを原料としたトルティーヤ調製において,炭酸カルシウムを添加すると,デンプン粒子の膨潤・崩壊,分子の膨潤・水和が促進されたが,変化の程度は小さかった,炭酸カルシウム添加では,加熱により空洞が組織中に観察され,吸水率が増加した.このため,炭酸カルシウム添加トルティーヤでは水分の多い具材を巻いて食べる際には,水分を良く吸収し食べ易さが向上すると考えられた.一方,水酸化カルシウムを添加した場合には,デンプン粒子の膨潤・崩壊,分子の膨潤・水和は炭酸カルシムを添加した場合よりも促進され,組織は緻密となった.従って,水酸化カルシウム添加では,調理操作上あるいは具材を包んで食べる際には破れにくくなり,これらの点で利便性は向上すると考えられたが,添加により強いアルカリ味が生じ,赤味の強い色調になるために,利用に際しては添加量に注意を払う必要があると考えられた.

立命館大学薬学部ではディプロマ・ポリシーにおける教育目標の一つである「国際社会でも活躍できる英語での情報収集・発信能力」を涵養するため,「プロジェクト発信型英語プログラム」(Project-based English Program: PEP)を導入し,専門英語を含む英語科目を系統的に配置している.本稿では,専門性の高い領域での英語発信力を育成するために,専門教員と英語教員がどのようにコラボレーションできるかを,専門教員,専門知識を持たない英語母語話者,社会人による学生のプレゼンテーションの評価分析を元に論じた.専門教員はテーマの絞り込みや深め方,英語教員は成果を広く発信する際にどう社会に関連させ伝えるかという点でアドバイスを行い,学生自身がその中で自分の意見をさらに深めるという協同が実現することにより,発信力を “I(自身)”,“Me(客観的に捉えた自身)”,“Connection(自身と他者あるいは社会とのつながり)” の観点から涵養できるという示唆が得られた.

To study the effect of Shiitake (Lentinus edodes) and Maitake (Grifola frondosa) on hypertension, spontaneously hypertensive rats (SHR) were fed a diet containing 5% mushroom powder and 0.5 NaCl solution as drinking water for 9 weeks. The dietary mushrooms decreased the blood pressure. The plasma free cholesterol level decreased in Shiitake-fed animals, whereas in Maitake-fed animals the total cholesterol level decreased. There was no difference in the plasma triglyceride and phospholipid levels among the experimental groups. Shiitake feeding resulted in a decrease in VLDL and HDL-cholesterol whereas Maitake feeding caused a decrease in VLDL-cholesterol only. Plasma LDLcholesterol was not affected by dietary mushrooms. The results suggest that dietary mushrooms prevent blood pressure increase in hypertension.

It is well-known that the liquid component of blood can be an important marker for assessing health conditions. But the cellular components of blood also convey to us various other information. This paper explains the knowledge obtained from the author's experiments examining blood cells, and how this knowledge elucidates regulational functions of aging. For example, from the facts that: 1. the life span of germfree mice was longer than that of conventional mice, 2. the life span of normal mice with restricted diet(60%)was longer than that of non-restricted normal mice, and that, as the author's experiment revealed, 3. the length and life of their small intestinal epithelial cells were also greater than those of each control group, the author surmises that small intestinal epithelial cells might be a marker for detecting the situation of the regulation of aging. Experiments designed to measure the life span of red blood cells lead the author to find that the number of T-cells in mice on restricted diets increased and immune responses were accelerated. And finally, the author explains experiments examining platelets of laboratory mice to determine the function of EPA(Eicosapentaenoic acid)in the blood coagulation system.

(1) Israel is not a militaristic state although she is a model of ‘nation-in- arms’ in the sense that military defense occupies the center of her people's life.(2) The reason why Israel is ‘nation-in-arms’ is due to the fact that she was surrounded by hostile countries which do not recognize her legitimacy as a state, and that she has actually fought four times with them in the past. In addition to this, holocaust analogy and ‘Masada complex’ which are latent in the psychology of Israelis, highten terror in their heart.(3) But, up to now, Israel has never faced the critical situation in which she could be actually annihilated. Rather, she has always won overwhelming victory in the past wars, with the only exception of the Yom Kippur War. At the same time, it is an undeniable fact that the terror of annihilation has been utilized for the justification of her intransigent policy.(4) Israel has tried to persuade the Arab states for their recognition of Israeli's legitimacy as a state, while totally rejecting the wish of Palestinians for the establishment of their independent state. After the end of Six-Day-War, Israel has made every efforts to secure her security on the basis of tei ritorialism by bringing out the conception of ‘defensible borders’.(5) If Israel wishes to secure the true security, it might be indispensable for her to recognize the Palestinians' legitimate rights of self-determination through peaceful settlement, in stead of insisting the conception of security on the basis of territorialism.

63歳,男性.20年前,検診にて肝腫瘤を指摘されたが詳細不明であった.4年前の40×35 mmから60×50 mmと増大傾向となり,紹介入院となった.腹部超音波検査では肝S6/7に60×50 mm大の不整形,境界不明瞭,内部不均一,低エコー腫瘤を認めた.造影CT検査では肝S6/7に60×50 mm大の病変は共に単純CTで等吸収,造影早期相で濃染,後期相で淡い低吸収となった.ソナゾイド造影超音波検査では動脈優位相では全体が不均一に濃染された.門脈優位相ではhypo echoicとなりpost-vascular phase(Kupffer phase)ではdefectを呈した.病理組織検査では肝原発濾胞性リンパ腫と診断され,外科手術にて完全著効となり12カ月生存中である.肝原発濾胞性リンパ腫は非常に稀な疾患であり報告する.
