大学院重点化で大学院学生が急激に増加する一方、日本の産業界における博士課程修了者の民間企業への登用が進んでいない。このような背景を受け、本調査研究は、大学院博士課程において専門分野の枠の中で研究活動に従事してきた人材が、産業界でのキャリア構築や活躍の機会を広げる上での示唆を得ることを目的として、民間企業に対して博士の採用と活用に対するインタビュー調査を実施した。製造業の研究開発部門を中心として民間企業19社を対象に、①企業が求める人材、②博士人材の能力に対する印象、③博士課程修了者の採用状況、④採用時に重視する点、⑤採用後の博士人材の待遇、に関してヒアリングし、取り纏めたものである。 本インタビュー調査より、博士人材が民間企業においてキャリアパスを形成するには、大学における学術研究と企業での研究開発との間に存在する目的の違いを理解した上で、変化を続ける社会の状況や顧客ニーズに応じて、自身の専門性や研究開発能力を応用できる柔軟性の獲得が重要であることが示唆される。また、博士に求められる能力の重きは、民間企業が置かれている状況により異なるものの、博士・修士を問わず、大学院生の質の低下が指摘されており、全体的な能力の底上げが望まれている。大学院での研究活動やキャリア支援等がもたらす人材育成効果は、論文数や被引用回数等の研究力評価指標だけでは推し量れないため、博士人材が身に付けた能力やスキルを可視化するための新たなインデックスの作成が求められる。The number of graduate students is rapidly increasing due to the government’s policy of prioritizing graduate education; however, fewer doctoral graduates are being hired by private companies in the Japanese public sector. Against this background, in this study we conducted interview surveys with private companies to obtain suggestions about the employment and use of doctoral graduates. The aim was to use these suggestions to help people who have been working within their research field so that they can develop their careers and expand their opportunities to operate in the public sector. We summarized the results of interviews with 19 private companies, centering on the research and development divisions of manufacturers, concerning the following questions: 1) the human resources that private companies are seeking, 2) their impressions of doctoral graduates’ abilities, 3) the recruitment status of doctoral graduates, 4) important points for employment of doctoral graduates, and 5) the labor conditions of doctoral graduates after employment. Our survey suggests that doctoral graduates should understand the difference between academic research in universities and industrial studies in private companies and gain flexibility in order to be able to apply their specialties and research and development skills to other fields depending on changeable situations in society and customer needs. Although the abilities of doctoral graduates that have received a graduate education vary in accordance with the status of private companies, graduate education is expected to raise the standard for all graduate students because there has been a decline in the qualities of both master and doctoral students. It is hard to assess the effects of human resource development through academic research activities and career support programs by using a research performance index such as the number of published papers and the number of citations per paper. Therefore a new indicator is required to visualize the skills and abilities acquired by doctoral graduates.

近年のユビキタス技術の発展により、空間センサやユーザの携帯端末から、多種多様なユーザの行動履歴が取得・蓄積可能となってきている。そこで、ユーザの行動履歴から、行動パターンを抽出することで、ユーザが興味を持つと考えられる場所を推測し、推薦するシステムが考えられる。本稿では協調フィルタリング手法を適用し、推薦の対象となるユーザと類似の行動パターンを持つ他のユーザの行動履歴を参照することで、ユーザが行ったことのない場所でも効果的な推薦を行ったり、潜在的に興味のある場所の推薦を行う行動ナビゲーション手法の考察を行う。By the development of ubiquitous technology of recent years, we will be able to acquire and accumulate various action histories of users from spatial sensors and mobile devices. Therefore, a system to recommend the interested places of users by extracting action patterns from action histories of users can be developed. In this paper, we propose action navigation method by collaborative filtering, which can recommend potentially interested places or even a place where users have not been by referring to action histories of other users having a similar behavior.

今日まで多くの粘土瓦が使用されてきたが,近い将来には寿命を迎えた大量の廃棄瓦が発生する.また,粘土瓦を製造する際には不良品となる規格外瓦が一定量発生するが,これらの不要粘土瓦の再生原料以外のリサイクルはあまり進んでいない.そこで,本研究では規格外瓦を砕いたリサイクル材料である破砕瓦の構造物の裏込め材や裏埋め材としての適用性について,室内模型試験や実物大の現場試験により検討を行った.破砕瓦は軽量性や摩擦性が高いため,構造物に作用する水平土圧の低減効果を期待できることや,無補強でも高い支持力が期待できること,繊維補強材による支持力補強効果も期待できること,上載荷重の影響範囲は山砂とほぼ同様であることが明らかとなり,破砕瓦は裏込め材や裏埋め材として適用可能であることが分かった.

Recently, there is an increasing demand for the method of 3D rendering which achieves both reducing the processing load and keeping the quality of generated image. One of the solutions to this trade-off is ”foveated rendering”, in which rendering is simplified as far as human cannot perceive. In the most of the previous researches, they adopted foveated rendering using a heuristic and discrete evaluation which causes generated image to be unnatural for the human perception. Then we suggest the method of foveated rendering which continuously simplifies rendering based on spatial frequency response of human vision system. We experimentally show that proposed method enables to render images approximately three times as fast as maximum-resolution rendering.

In this research, we propose a method that estimates the softness of an object based on the motion images of a hand and a forearm when a target object is pushed with a stick. The softness of the object is estimated from those images by using deep learning. For the motion recognition, we capture a series of RGB-D images with a depth camera. A subject pushes objects of different softness with a stick for collecting motion images for learning. Then the captured images are learned through Convolutional Neural Network and their characteristics are parameterized appropriately to achieve the softness estimation system. The results of softness estimation show that root mean square error of the estimated value of non-learned softness scores within 5 points in durometer hardness. It means that pushing motions of human beings include tactile information that leads to estimate the target object softness and our system can recognize it accurately. We also confirmed that using all the 3 types of images (RGB-image, depth image and Canny edge image) as the input results in the highest accuracy for both personalized and generalized networks.

In this paper, we propose an image and tactile presentation system for quickly moving objects, high-speed dynamic information environment, and a calibration method between a camera and Airborne Ultrasound Tactile Display(AUTD), which can present tactile sensation noncontactly as focused ultrasound. We realize one example of high-speed dynamic information environment that even if an object is moving, we can use the object as a tool for human interfaces without delay by combining a high-speed gaze controller by rotational mirrors. An accuracy of position, however, is not sufficient against difference threshold between images and tactile sensation because of mainly error of position between AUTD and camera. We calibrate the AUTD-camera system by visualizing the invisible focal position using Frustrated Total Internal Reflection(FTIR). Experimental results show that estimation accuracy is better than the threshold.

This paper describes a theory, algorithm, and experimental results of a new 3-D sound source localization system which is based on the spatio-temporal derivative method applied to acoustic signals.The principle is outlined as follows. We observe the sound field through amplitude f and its spatiotemporal gradients fx, fy, ft of a single point. An instantaneous distribution of time-varying vectors fx, fy, ft, f in a 4-D gradient space is classified according to its degree of orderness. Each orderness is theoretically related to constraints on possible source locations. Under this classification, we obtain an unambiguous 3-D location of a single source under a second degree of orderness and a co-existing line or plane of double sources under a first degree of orderness.We applied the principle to a sound source visualizer system by which a possibility map of the source locale is accumulated and superposed realtimely on TV images. By several experiments, this system is shown to be able to localize multiple wideband sources such as white noises and human voices while discriminating a number of them.
