The queendom of Queen Himiko of the third century problem that becomes the national topic now. After all the subject is a problem of the location of queendom of Queen Himiko of the third century, and there are Kyushu opinion / Kinki opinion and moving from Kyushu to Kinki. The reason is because decisive evidence can lack in what do not watch an end at which opinion while having the history of the study to pass over those opinions than 280 years either. Yoshinogari site in the Kyushu opinion and Makimuku site in the Kinki opinion have important significance for each argument when I look back on history of slightly detailed study. However, for the candidate place of the grave of Himiko, the existence of Hashihaka tumulus in the Kinki opinion will work more profitably. In addition, it rises in the viewpoint of the northeast Asian history, and it may be said that that I elucidate the local actual situation of Japanese Islands each place is demanded most now.

日本の素粒子論研究が世界的に評価される礎を築いた湯川秀樹・朝永振一郎・坂田昌一の遺した資料を活用してその学問の系譜を研究することを目標とし、その資料の利用環境整備を行った。史料データベースを充実させネットワーク上のサーバーを介して一般に公開している。このサーバで稼働するオープンソフトウェアの検討およびカスタマイズ、さらにその後継ソフトウェアの検討を行った。またこれらの資料を科学史研究に利用するのに有益な史料作成者データのデータベースを、史料カタログと連携するものとして構築することによって、史料の有効利用に資することができるようにすることを検討した。また今後へ向けての課題の検討を行った。

日本における素粒子物理学の発展への道を開いた湯川秀樹・朝永振一郎・坂田昌一の遺した資料を保存する記念史料室等で、その資料を近年のアーカイブズ学の知識によってカタログ情報を国際標準に準拠する史料記述の形式で統一的にデータベース化することにより、史料整理と保存の体制整備と利用促進を図った。それにより、未整理であった資料を含め記念史料の全体について把握が可能になり、その管理について見通しが良くなった。さらにそのデータベースは、ネットワーク経由で相互参照(横断検索)が可能なオンライン検索システムを採用して一般向けに提供するための環境づくりを行ったので、当科研費事業の終了後にもその整備と運用の継続が可能になり、様々な研究課題に利用できるようになり、現実にこれらの史料の参照の要求にこたえることが可能になった。

Whether pheromone signaling exists in humans is still a matter of intense discussion. In this review, the likelihood of pheromonal communication in humans is assessed with a discussion of the vomeronasal system is functional in humans; and the possible ways pheromones operate in humans. Although the vomeronasal organ (VNO), a putative pheromone receptor organ, has been implicated in the reception of pheromones in many vertebrates, it is not the only pathway through which such information has access to the central nervous system. In fact, the main olfactory system also detects pheromones. In addition, an important caveat for humans is that critical components typically found within the functioning vomeronasal system of other, nonprimate, mammals are lacking, suggesting that the human vomeronasal system does not function in the way that has been described for other mammals. Therefore, linking detection of pheromones with the vomeronasal system as pheromones is a non sequitur. Thus, in the years since the introduction of pheromones, the extensiveness of the concept has expanded. In a broader perspective, pheromones can be classified as primers, signalers, modulators, and releasers. Examples include affects on the menstrual cycle (primer effects); olfactory recognition of newborn by its mother (signaler effects); individuals may exude different odors based on mood (suggestive of modulator effects); breast crawl of newborn (releaser effects).

父親、母親に見られる脳とホルモンの特徴を調べ、父性、母性をもたらす生物学的基盤を明らかにするべく、乳児表情に対する脳活動は、親と非親間で異なるか、ホルモン受容体遺伝子多型により親集団で異なるかを調べた。結果、父親特徴的な脳活動を明らかにした。また、妊娠~産後2年の母親を調べ、産後のホルモンや経験が母親脳の変化に貢献することを示唆した。一方、母性へのオキシトシン受容体遺伝子多型の影響を明らかにした。

平成8年度は、本研究3個年計画の最終年度に当たるので、過去2年間にわたって実施した調査成果を総合的にまとめ上げることを主眼とする研究を実施した。そのため、収集した膨大な調査資料を改めて整理、分析するとともに、研究成果報告書の原稿を執筆した。その間、支石墓研究会も開催し、第15回をもって最終回とした。その際、中国の遼東半島や朝鮮の西南海岸部・済州島の支石墓について補足し、また、日本の出土遺物として重要な供献小壺についても研究の現状を把握した。その結果を要約すると、支石墓は中国の東北地方から朝鮮の全地域において、主として青銅器時代に築造された。中国では、いわゆる石蓋土壙墓が支石墓を考える上で重要である。おそらく中国で成立した卓子形の支石墓は、朝鮮の西北部にまず伝播した後、変容を遂げながら南部地方へと波及し、碁盤形支石墓を生んだ。朝鮮の全域で独特に発達した支石墓は、いうまでもなく、もともと巨大な上石とそれを支える支石からなることに特徴があるところから名づけられた墳墓である。ところが、最近の調査例のように、実に多種多量の形式が見られるようになってくると、形式分類もひじょうに複雑なものとならざるをえない。それでもなお、共通点として指摘できるのは、巨大な上石を使用していることであるのに対して、支石をもたないものもけっして少なくないのである。そこで、巨大な上石の下にある墓室の構造を基準として形式分類を試みた。日本の支石墓は、縄文時代終末期から弥生時代中期にかけて、北部九州を代表する墓制の一つである。上石の下部に埋葬施設としての土壙・甕棺・配石などがある。古くは、土壙の場合が多いが、新しくなると甕棺が多くみられる。甕棺を埋葬施設とする点は、日本独自の特徴である。支石墓の存在形態を見ると、大規模な群集を示さず、数基ないし十数基からなる。
