低ビットレート環境で使用されるMPEG4の規格化が最終段階を迎えており、将来この技術を利用したテレビ電話・会議システム等の利用が考えられる。聴覚障害者がこれらを利用して、手話によるコミュニケーションを行った場合、MPEG4の各パラメータ(フレーム速度、転送速度、量子化幅)が手話コミュニケーションに対してどのような影響を与えるか、また、その評価下限値を求める実験を行ったので報告する。

Video camera recorders have function of digital title, since we can easily insert hand-made titles in video images. To realize large miniaturization of size of the chip, and decrease in power, we placed the memory (S-RAM), which was out of the chip, in the titler. And we utilized the technology of data compression and interpolation for memorizing data using half as much memory as in the past. In addition, we have developed the digital titler that has the function of shadow title and frame indication.

Miniature eye movement is characterized by it's complex waveform, small amplitude and unconsciousness. Involuntary movement like this may be affected by various psychological and physical states. From a view point of a fractal dimension analysis, the characteristics of miniature eye movements were investigated for estimating our sensitivity of feeling. The correlation dimension was used as a fractal dimension for quantizing complexity of miniature eye movements drift components. Validity of sufficient total calculation data (i. e. 18, 000 points for 12 embedding dimensions using a bandpass filter) were confirmed. And also differences between experimental data and noise of measurement system were simulated using pseudo white noise. And 1/f power spectrum of experimental data was confirmed using Fast Fourier Transform. This suggested that miniature eye movement may be a biological chaos. The applications of this analysis may be not only sensitivity of feeling estimation but also a medical application as a diagnosis of dementia.

フィルムの音は悪いといわれている.確かにひずみが多く, 雑音も多いし, また周波数特性も物たらない.これらの原因は, 現在の感光材料の本質的な宿命なのか, それとも録音以降に, 機械的に, また化学的に処理しなければならないことからの劣化がはなはだしく, 不満足な音になるのであろうか.本文では, 録音機における問題点, 現像における問題点を取り上げ, 光学録音に対する基礎知識を中心に, 現状を解説してみた.

本研究では,自然光下の実シーンを計算機合成ホログラム(CGH)として記録するための手法として,市販のライトフィールドカメラであるLytroを用いる手法を提案する.本手法では,Lytroによって取得されたライトフィールドを波面に変換してCGHを計算する.また計算したCGHの光学再生実験を行い,本手法の有効性の検証を行った.

A new image acquistion system is proposed to meet the increasing demand for a compact HDTV camera with high performance. The main idea of this system is to solve the contradiction between the shrinkage of the optical format size and the camera performance by equipping the camera with four-chip CCDs. In the newly developed color-separating system of the prototype camera, two of the four CCDs are assigned for the green light component and one each for the red and the blue component. We succeeded in improving the resolution by introducing spatial pixel offset imaging, in which the two G-CCDs are aligned by one-half pitch of a pixel and one of them is aligned with the R-CCD and the other with the B-CCD. This new method has two major advantages : it prevents the resolution degradation caused by the chromatic aberration of the lens and improves the resolution of chromatic signals over a wide range.

Modulation transfer function (MTF) quantitatively describes a display' s resolution characteristics. It involves two measurement methods : the impulse method and the sinusoidal method. The authors compared the two methods and showed that the sinusoidal method is the best of the two because the video circuit characteristics are involved in the results. The MTF measurement method for moving images is also investigated.

テレビ朝日では,非常災害時における放送継続手法の検討を継続的に行っている.本社の番組送出機能が喪失してしまい,親局送信所のみで放送を継続する事態を想定した時,SNGを用いて各地の系列局より放送素材を伝送してもらい,親局送信所において直接受信するという手法が有効である.しかし,関東広域放送の親局送信所は東京スカイツリー®であるため,アンテナを設置するための条件が厳しく,SNGを簡単に受信することはできない.そこで,常設されているFPU受信アンテナを用いてSNGを受信するという手法を考えた.この手法を実現するために,FPU受信アンテナの受信帯域幅を広帯域化し,SNGも受信可能となるような共用受信アンテナの開発を行った.

TVML(TV program Making Language)とTVML Playerのインタラクティブ再生機能を用いて,キーボードでCG(コンピュータグラフィックス)キャラクタをリアルタイム動作させる"アドリブシステム"を開発した.アドリブシステムはリアルタイムで制御されるため,番組出演者と臨機応変に掛け合いをさせることができる.また,スクリプトベースなので制作現場で直接動作・演出を編集・加工することができる.さらに,声優の声を入力としてリアルタイムにCGキャラクタのリップシンクが可能である.ノートパソコン1台で動作するためコンパクトで,番組制作現場で使いやすいシステムとなっている.

Smooth pursuit eye movement system shows different control characteristics according to the types of target motion. Frequency characteristics were measured using combinations of various two frequency sinusoidal waves. The gain reduction and the phase lead were observed for lower frequency components. Results suggest taht the smooth pursuit system adaptively changes its characteristics-presumably the stiffness of extraocular muscles-to effectively responds to a target motion.

本研究では,過去の痕跡の残る場所において,過去の様子を体験することを目的としたシステムの構築を行う.このシステムでは,過去の映像の撮影位置推定を行い,その撮影位置において現在の風景と過去の映像を自然に接続することで,過去の体験を可能にする.撮影位置推定手法として現地での推定を可能とするために,3点の特徴点対応から撮影位置を推定する方法を提案した.シミュレーションと実験を通じて提案した手法で精度よく撮影位置推定を行えることを示した.また,撮影位置推定された場所においてウェブカメラで取り込んだ映像と過去の映像とを自然に接続できることを確認した.さらに,被験者を対象とした評価実験により,本システムが過去の状況を知るために有効であることが示された.

探索目標に関する映像中の位置情報を用いて録画データからインタラクティブに目標を探索する手法を提案する.手法の考え方は発掘作業になぞらえることができる.地層を掘り下げるように,利用者はスコップのような道具と目標位置に関する補助情報を用いて過去映像を掘り下げ,目標映像を探す.手法を実装したシステムの詳細とその評価実験の結果を紹介する.
