One of the contemporary issues in modern criminal procedure is whether a police officer may investigate any person whom he has reasonable grounds to suspect of committing a crime. I researched the Horikoshi-Case in examining this issue. In this case a civil servant handed out political leaflets in violation of the national public servant law that prohibits civil servants from participating in political movements. A prosecuter filed an indictment against him. In the investigation by the police before the indictment, police officers had been following and video-taping him for 29 days. This case has two disputed points. One is the question of whether a police officer may investigate any person whom he has reasonable grounds to suspect of committing a crime, which in this case is the act of handing out political leaflets. The other is the question of the legality of following and video-taping as a means of the investigation, which may invade a person's privacy. In my opinion, the constitutinal law and the criminal procedural law don't permit police officers to begin an investigation before a crime is committed. Therefore, the investigation in this case is not only an invasion of privacy but also illegal. This paper consists of following sections. 1 The problems of the Horikoshi-Case. 2 Examination of the investigation of this case. 3 Can police officers begin to investigate before a crime is committed? 4 The illegality of following and video-taping as a means of the investigation. 5 Conclusion.

This paper describes the life of Japanese-Brazilian workers in Japan investigated by interviews and a questionnaire survey. The Seventh Day Adventist members in Shizuokaken were selected and these Brazilians are all members of the Seventh Day Adventist church in Kakegawa city. I participated in their annual meeting at summer camp for 5 days and asked them to answer questionnaires and interviewed them. I asked them when and why they came to Japan, how long they intended to stay in Japan, problems they have in their daily life and occupational life, etc.. I also attended their weekly service at their church on Saturdays to observe their activities. As a result, I found that their biggest problem is communication due to the language difference. This problem causes other problems such as with human relationships, racial prejudice, children's education, etc..

今回の実験においては,各音楽刺激による各生理反応の変化,加えて被験者の心理的な指標を計り,曲調の違う3パターンのカノンで,いかに音楽を聴取する人が「癒し効果」に至るのかを検証してきた。癒しの効果がある音楽を提示するには,本来複雑な要素が重なり合って初めて成立するものだと考えられる。音楽の持つ構成要素として,メロディ・リズム・ハーモニー以外にも,音色,緩急と強弱。さらに,これらの総合的な配置や組み合わせにより,生み出される音の厚み,透明度,騒音性,立体感など。またそれらの変化が織成す音の流れの力動や波動,緊張や弛緩によって「癒し」効果は生まれてくるのではないかと推察される。さらには,その効果を引き出すための音楽を聴く環境にも配慮しなければならない。「目的」で述べたように,現代の社会では音楽による癒し効果が更に求められてくるであろう。医療の現場においてもその効果が,着目されており,その重要性は日毎に増すばかりである。そうした中で,最大限のリラクゼーション効果を得るためには,音楽の繊細さ,複雑さを充分に理解した上で使用しなければならない。科学的に分析する上で,被験者(人間)の嗜好性やその時の感情,環境などの要素を,複合,多面的に検証する必要がある。そのことを踏まえ,今後,より普遍的で個人に寄り添った研究・考察を重ねていかなければならないと考える。

日々起こるでき事に対して、マスコミの見落した点を点検しているうちに、自然とわたし自身が関係した"調査"についての反省ということにつながった。既存の"知識"から出発した結果、調査はいつも"見落し"があることに気付いた。自己の"知識"の限界である。この見落しは2つの系列に区分することができる。1つは自分自身の対象に迫る姿勢に関するものであり、いま1つは対象化される対象の状態に関するものである。前者はまず3つの段階に区分できる。(1)自明なモノゴトを無条件に是認する、(2)"確かなモノゴドと考えられているモノゴトを改めて吟味する、即ち対象として意識する、(3)吟味の方法的検討の拠点として自分と対象の関係を問う段階である。(3)は更に自他未分から始まって他者が対象とされるに至り自分の問題として考えるという段階に区分される。当事者としての自覚することによって、受身の我から積極的な我に変化する。社会学の方法としての社会調査は、時間的存在として歴史を生きることとなる。意味を問うことに始まる自覚の後至性は、空間的な広がり、そこで生活が営まれる環境の限界を空間的に超えるという体験ではなくて、時間的に自己にとって意識化され、自己の意識としての自覚に至るとともに、単なる第三者としての傍観者観察という営みから、行為者、生きる全体としての生活者としての自覚、それはまた当事者として受身から能動的な我の自覚を意味している。時間的存在としての自覚は、確定した過去と未定の未来という矛盾の一方を切り捨てることではなくて、矛盾したモノゴトを含む新しい全体を積極的に創り出すためのある幅をもった現在を設定するという視点から捉え直すという働きに結びつく。見落しを積極的に創り出すことによって、社会調査の資料は、歴史学の史料とつながることになる。環境は単に自然・社会・文化といった形で"知識"化されたモノゴトのあり様から主体として個がそこで生きる社会的状況として捉え直すことによって意味をもつことになる。住む世界の拡大と意識化の深化とは呼応して行うことによって初めて実態に近づくことになる。この視点から見落したものを積極的に見直すことによって意味をもつことになる。歴史学が現在の体制において自明とされる前提に立つことの見落しは、都市と農村の相関する協同研究によって補足される必要がある。社会的差別は被害者の側の視点-勝つ強さのみが強調されるが負けない強さは視座の変更を必要とする-に立つことによって初めて解決の途を見出すことになる。

Tanaka and Sato (1981) examined and demonstrated transitive inference in the pigeon before the publication of von Fersen, Wynne, Delius, and Staddon (1991), which is commonly cited as the first paper demonstrating this phenomenon in pigeons. Unfortunately, Tanaka and Sato's study is unknown to researchers in countries other than Japan, because it was not published in any refereed journal, but in the proceedings of a Japanese academic meeting. Their study and foresightedness, however, should be recognized.

戦後における日本人のコミュニケーション行動の変化を探るため、スポーツ場面での言語行動に焦点を絞り、そこでの変化の様子やその要因を考察した。具体的には、毎年甲子園で行われる高校野球の選手宣誓行動を映像資料によって跡付け、その宣誓文や宣誓行動におけるパラ言語(声の調子など)の側面などについて、考察した。その結果、1980年代を境に、型通りのものから多様なものへと変化していることが判明した。これは、日本社会の変容(モダンからポストモダンへ、あるいは戦後社会からポスト戦後社会へ)と連動した現象である、と結論づけた。

本研究は日本、韓国、台湾、米国の自然災害被災地(阪神淡路大震災、中越地震、東日本大震災、江原道、ソウル市、台中市、高雄市、台北市、ニューオーリンズ市、サンフランシスコ市等)において主に被災者と支援者、行政、メディアを対象としたインタビュー及び資料収集調査を実施し、災害復興・防災体制におけるジェンダー課題を国際比較調査から明らかにした。さらに、研究成果を基に東日本大震災直後から政策提言・意見書を提出し、法制度・政策の改善につなげた。調査概要はジェンダーと災害復興ホームページ(http://genderdisaster.net/)において確認できる。
