近年,PDAや携帯電話などの組み込み機器は非常に高機能化してきている.それに伴ってOSも年々高機能化してきているが,同時に構造が複雑化してきている.本研究の目的は,比較的規模の小さなOSであるMINIXをARMアーキテクチャへ移植し,OSの基本的な動作を理解した上で,組み込み機器の持つ要求を満たすために必要なOSの機能について議論することにある.移植を行ったMINIXの性能評価として,プロセス管理において重要なforkおよびexecシステムコールのコストを計測し,同じARM上で動作するLinuxとの比較を行った.MINIXはLinuxと比較して30倍近く遅いという結果を得たが,MINIXのオーバーヘッドとなっている部分について考察を行い,組み込み機器への適用可能性を議論した.

本論文では、楽器の演奏経験が乏しい人でも容易にMIDIシーケンスデータを作成することができ、しかも従来の楽器と比べて遜色ない音楽表情づけのポテンシャルを持ち合わせるMIDIシーケンスデータ作成システムを提案する。近年の計算機の普及にともない、DTMシステムが多数開発され、誰でも音楽演奏に挑戦することができるようになった。しかし、MIDI楽器で通常に演奏してMIDIシーケンスデータを作成する方法では、楽器の演奏経験が乏しい人に多大な負担がかかる。また、音楽要素を個別に、端末を使って数値的に入力する方法では、質の高い音楽表情を担う各要素の微妙な調整や、音楽要素間の相互的な関係を考慮して操作することは困難である。そこで、入力を2段階に分けて、1段階目に端末かMIDI楽器で音高データのみの入力を行い、2段階目に音楽表情に関する要素を統合して入力する「2段階式作成方法」を提案する。38名の被験者に現在主流の2通りの入力方法と、提案した入力方法の3通りにより演奏データを作成してもらったところ、童謡とクラシック作品では「2段階式作成方法」が従来の方法よりも短時間で容易に入力ができ、作成された演奏データに満足がいくことが示された。また、ピアノ熟達者が従来の方法のうち、MIDI楽器を演奏して入力する「リアルタイム入力」と「2段階式作成方法」の2通りで、十分練習をしてから演奏データ作成を行い、20名の被験者に聞いてもらったところ、「2段階式作成方法」で作成された演奏データの音楽表情は、リアルタイム入力で作成されたものと比べて、遜色ないことが確かめられた。 : In this paper, we propose a method that allows people who are not good at playing musical instruments to construct performance date with rich musical expression. Recently, everybody becomes able to tackle with performing music by a MIDI system. There are two methods for composing MIDI sequence date, i.e., by normally playing the MIDI instruments and by separately inputting musical elements as numerical values. However, it is very difficult for inexperienced people to input correct note number with normally playing the MIDI instruments. On the other hand, it is also difficult for people to achieve rich expression by balancing all of the musical elements, by inputting them as numerical value separately. Consequently, we propose “ a two-phase input method”. In the first step, the user inputs only sequence of note number that she/he wants to perform by using MIDI instruments or Keyboard of a personal computer without considering musical expression. In the second step, she/he plays the MIDI keyboard to input musical expression by integrated control of the expressive musical elements. We conducted two experiments for examining the effectiveness of the two-phase input method. These results show that it is easier for inexperienced user to compose the MIDI sequence data with the two-phase input method than the conventional methods. Moreover, the musical quality of the MIDI sequence data composed by the two-phase input method was not inferior to that composed by normal performance with using a MIDI keyboard.

近年の技術の進歩によって記憶装置の大容量化が進み、膨大な量のデータを人間が直接扱うことが困難になってきている。そこで、膨大なデータの中から有用な情報を取り出す技術としてデータマイニング技術が注目されている。データマイニングの手法の一つであるSequential Pattern Miningではアイテム間の順序を考慮することによって、現実に即したマイニングを可能にしている。しかし、Sequential Pattern Miningではアイテム間の距離(時間)については考慮していないため、抽出されたアイテムセット中の任意の2つのアイテム間に,どれだけの距離があるのかを区別することが出来ない。本論文ではSequential Pattern Miningにおけるアイテム間の順序に加えて、アイテム間の距離を考慮してマイニングを行う方法を提案する。提案手法を用いることにより、直後に起こるトランザクションとしばらくして起こるトランザクションとの区別を可能にした。

e-learning とは情報技術によるコミュニケーション・ネットワーク等を使った主体的な学習であり、web を利用したWBT(Web Based Training)、テレビ電話を利用したものなどが実現され実用化されている。WBTでは多くのコンテンツがhtml,PDF,PowerPoint,Flash,JAVA Appletなどで作成されているが、これらの大部分は非双方向性のコンテンツであり、学習をしている際に質問をする等のコミュニケーションが困難である。本論の目的はこのような非双方向性の教材を利用して簡単に双方向性のコンテンツを作成する研究である。本研究ではコンテンツコントローラーを構築する事でイベントを共有し、同期を取る方法で非双方向性のコンテンツを双方向性のコンテンツに変換することを実現した。本システムを実現するにあたり、解決すべき問題を提起し、その解決策について述べる。そして、既存のシステムとの比較を行い、本システムの有効性を示す。

Dohan 道範(1178?-1252) was a monk of the Shingon school 真言宗 on Mt. Kōya 高野山 in the early Kamakura 鎌倉 period. The aim of this paper is to investigate his ideas on the Pure Land 浄土 in the Himitsu-nenbutsu-shō 秘密念仏抄, one of his representative works on Amida Buddha 阿弥陀仏 and the Pure Land from the viewpoint of Esoteric Buddhism. In this work, Dōhan quotes some passages from the works of Nakanogawa Jippan 中川実範(?-1144) and Kakuban 覚鑁(1095-1143) as pioneers of the esoteric interpretation of the Pure Land. He presents a new system of ideas on the basis of their works. I examine them from three points of view, that is, his ideas on Amida Buddha, the Pure Land, and myōgō 名号 or the Buddha's name, and consider how Dohan accepted earlier ideas and what the characteristics of his ideas were. According to Dōhan, conventional ideas about the Pure Land and Amida are at an immature stage of understanding, and at a deeper level Amida is thought to be the same as Dainichi Nyorai 大日如来, the main Buddha of Esoteric Buddhism. He also states that the land of Gokuraku 極楽浄土 is not actually in the west but in the minds of all creatures, and that raigō 来迎, or Amida's coming to meet a dying person, does not mean that Amida actually comes to take him to the real Pure Land, but that with some training he sees the Buddha in his mind. With regard to myōgō, he developed Kakuban's idea that every word is a mantra 真言, and asserts that chanting Amida's name and chanting mantras have quite the same meaning. In addition, Dohan asserts that various virtues are included in the three letters of A-mi-da. And in conclusion, he even says that the entire world of a maņdala is included in the name of Amida. One might venture to say that the interpretation of the name of Amida in the Shingon school attained its ultimate stage in his system. In this way, Dōhan radically reinterpreted the concepts of Amida, the Pure Land, myōgō, and so on from his position based on the doctrines of Esoteric Buddhism. He considered that the ideas of the Pure Land and Amida Buddha were part of Shingon doctrine and insists on the superiority of Esoteric Buddhism by subsuming these ideas under the system of Esoteric Buddhism. Thus, his ideas were different from a "fusion" of Esoteric Buddhism and Pure Land Buddhism, which was a characteristic of the interpretation of the Pure Land in the Shingon school before him.

コンビニやファーストフードのレジスターには、マーケティングのために、客の年齢や性別をインプットするためのボタンがある。顔画像からの性別、年齢情報の自動取得は、効率のよいマーケティングデータの収集などに必要な技術であり、画像情報より、人間の属性を推定できるものができれば便利である。本研究では、人間の顔画像から、ガボールウェーブレット変換、顔のパーツ間距離を利用して特徴量を抽出し、様々な要素から最近傍法を利用して平均顔と比較し、その人物の年齢・性別を判別する手法を提案する。人間による推定率(男女がほぼ100%、年齢層が68%)を目標に、これに近い結果を得られるように、男女、性別の判断、年齢は10歳くぎり5段階の判別をする。この手法により、人間の顔画像から自動でその人物の年齢・性別と情報を得ることができるようになる。

The purpose of this paper is to investigate the implication of wide reflective equilibrium (WRE) for foundationalism. On a first look Rawls and Daniels seem to propose versions of reflective equilibrium as a method of coherentism. However, the method of WRE is also compatible with modest foundationalism, and some passages of Rawls and Daniels suggest that they too allow this possibility. The version of foundationalism I endorse is a pluralist one in which not only considered judgments but also ethical principles and background theories can be included in the set of basic judgments.
