In this paper I illustrated my thesis 'de-Temple-Ideology' in the First David Psalter. In the chapter one I looked back my analysis on the First David Psalter as a book. Then I described the history of the Psalter-investigation and verified the theory 'the Psalter as Sanctuary,' that Ernst Zenger had proposed in his paper, titled "Der Psalter als Buch," in the chapter two and three. In the final chapter I criticized that Zenger had grasped the Psalter as alternative authority, instead of the Jerusalem Temple, for Jewish religion in Hellenistic era. I pointed out that editors of the Psalter had consisted of not only so-called Hasidim as Zenger had suggested, also various social classes. What they had attempted was not to establish another authority, but to find and reach the faith without the Temple or Temple-Ideology, that is, to restore relationship with JHWH in each way.

This paper presents a load-sensitive continuously variable transmission (CVT) for finger joints. Fingers of robot hands require force when grasping an object and speed when opening and closing. Therefore a CVT is ideal to improve the power transmission of a finger joint. Existing friction CVTs are too big and heavy to be installed in a finger joint. By focusing on the fact that finger joints do not necessarily rotate 360 degrees, this paper presents a remarkably simple and small load-sensitive CVT consisting of a five-bar linkage and a torsion coiled spring. Experimental results show that the CVT can increase its reduction ratio from 0.5 to 3.3 in response to a load. We have developed a two-finger gripper with the CVTs, which can grasp an object powerfully and manipulate quickly. These motions would be impossible without the CVT.

Poly [(sodium acrylate) -<I>co</I>- (vinyl alcohol)] P (A-VA), poly [(sodium acrylate) -<I>co</I>- (methyl vinyl ether)] P (A-MVE), polyL (sodium 2-hydroxyacrylate) -<I>co</I>- (sodium acrylate) P (HA-A), poly [(disodium maleate) -<I>alt</I>- (vinyl alcohol) P (Ma-VA), poly (disodium fumarate) -<I>alt</I>- (vinyl alcohol)] P (F-VA) were prepared, and their building performances in detergents were examined. Their sequestering power for Ca<SUP>2+</SUP> and dispersing power MnO<SUB>2</SUB> were determined and compared with the corresponding properties of sodium tripolyphosphate (STPP) and disodium 3-oxapentandioate (ODA). The biodegradability of the oligomers was also studied under aerobic conditions.<BR>These oligomers showed better detergency building performances than those of ODA, and some of them were superior to those of STPP. Oligomeric P (A-VA) prepared by UV polymerization showed the best building performances in detergent systems and biodegradability tested in this report. The introduction of hydroxyl groups and ether groups to poly (sodium acrylate) promoted their detergency power and biodegradability.

The instantaneous center of rotation (ICR) is a basic quantity for describing planar motion of rigid bodies and useful for analysis of anatomical joint motion. For example, the ratio of sliding or spinning and rolling at the articular surfaces of the joint has a direct relationship with the location of ICR. Reuleaux's method has been used to determine ICR. So far the position of segments has been measured by means of several X-ray photographs. Reuleaux's method and other methods use data at two consecutive positions. These methods are very sensitive to position error of segments, and therefore few reliable ICR data on joint motion have been reported. However, it has become possible recently to obtain sufficient position data using several electronic techniques including photo-sensitive semiconductor and magnetic sensor. Therefore it is expected that ICR error can be reduced using these data. In this paper, we propose a method of calculating ICR based on smoothing technique. That is, to determine velocity and angular velocity of a segment, we adopted numerical low-pass differentiation. Then we analyzed the error of this method and discussed the optimal sampling interval of position data. We compared this method with other methods by computer simulation, and we applied this method to temporomandibular joint motion.
