In this technical report, the author describes the Factory Automatization for PC Panel Production, the Panel of which is used for middle-rise apartment. The CAM data for automatic machine operation in the factory are processed from CAD data and supplied to the machine through the computer network. The flow of the materials and the products in process is rearranged and systematic production is realized. This is the case sample of CIM for the housing components production.

The interior finish work of apartment building does not progress on schedule in Japan though the apartment construction does. Japanese general constructors have challenged to this issue since the 1970s, but there is no example established as a standard method for interior finish work management.We investigated the process of the interior finish work and analyzed the obtained data, which revealed that the problems were in the relation of product structure, scheduling and work assignment.

The purpose of this survey is to grasp the current status of after-school child care centers and the local government’s response to national policy.The results are as follows.1) 93% of municipalities put after-school child care centers in place, and both the current status and the subjects for improving facilities differ according to the population size of locality.2) 14% of those municipalities have ones in where there are more than 70 registered children, and these try to make them smaller and adequate size.3) Some local governments set a standard level uniquely. 52% of the municipalities have a capacity standard, and 27% of them set capacity standard based on the guideline, on the other hand less than 15% of them have ones of area, space and utilities.

This study, we got a handle on the characteristics of spatial from relation between children’s activities and spaces. As a result, it became obvious that the variety of children’s activities in after-school daycare centers is not necessarily secured. And, many facilities were not space to ensure free and dynamic children’s activities. It is difficult to each of the activities of static and dynamic can be done without risk. On creating an environment at the facilities, it is important that plan to be expanded the possibility of further activities after securing the floor space depending on the number of people.

By surveying pupils and school personnel on their evaluations and actual usage of the spaces, this paper aims to obtain information that will provide details on future proposals. The surveyed case was Elementary School A has various forms and settings of workspaces (WSs). As a result, it was found that the open spaces (composed of a series of small spaces of different scales and settings, which is a feature of elementary schools), have promoted pupils' spatial recognition and diverse activities. It is then, we believe that implementing these open spaces will promote various activities related to living, learning, and playing and expand schools' range of educational activities and choice of places.

Recently, RFID techniques enable us to obtain enormous amount of information on positions of humans and objects in a building. This paper discusses the visualization method of customer shopping-paths in a Super-Market that are obtained by RFID techniques.<br>For this, two different methods are applied to visualize the customer shopping-paths, which are Kernel Density Estimation method and Vector Field Visualization. By applying the Kernel Density Estimation method, it helps us to visually understand the customer existence probability density in sales floor, whereas the Vector Field Visualization enables us to grasp the customers' flow.

The roof of the Teshima Art Museum’s main building in Teshima, Kagawa Prefecture, is a reinforced concrete shell with a freeform curved surface in the shape of a water droplet, having a maximum span of 41.2m, a maximum rise 5.12m and thickness of 250mm. This paper discusses the structural planning, design and construction methods for implementing such shallow, thin RC shells with freeform curved surfaces. Especially, we described in detail about the building summary, the form-finding of shells by computational morphogenesis and the policy of structural design.

The first purpose of this paper is the development of recycled PVC sheets which is applied as floorcoverings, and second purpose is development of fiber reinforced plastic sheets which containing fiber of the waste carpet-tiles. In this research, we deal with three kinds of waste PVC floorcoverings (Homogenias-tail, PVC flooring sheets, and carpet-tile) as the recycling raw materials. Tension tests and dimensional stability (bathed in hot air at 80℃, 6hrs.) tests on recycled PVC sheets specimen were performed. As a result, the influence of proportioning and fiber mixing rate on the quality of the recycled PVC sheets was clarified.

The purpose of this paper is to report the survey of the former Kamaya Building in Taira, Iwaki-City, Fukushima-Prefecture. This building is consisted of three main parts, Mise-gura, Sode-gura, the stone fagade construction between them. Mise-gura is traditional Dozo-zukuri construction. Sode-gura is built of fire refractory brick. And the stone facade construction is designed by western style. Basically this building is built by traditional way, but a lot of new techniques are used within. In this paper, I discuss the architectural characteristics of this building.

We tried to arrange many notifications and regulations for cesspit toilets announced by Department of Interior and Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department. At last, it revealed that they thought cholera breeds especially with human waste, Department of Interior showed concrete model of the regulation for Tokyo in prevalence of disease, and the regulation didn’t much change from 1887. And we considered that changes of materials for cesspit-pool reflected spread of technology in those days.

The present report introduces an overview of the "Umashikuniokoshi-Mie Sakimori Juku" as a practical example of disaster prevention education program, reporting basic framework and overall configuration of the program. The program intended to offer basic sound knowledge as well as practical skills for adults working as e.g. official workers, volunteers, civil servants. Following basic points of the program are summarized and discussed: (1) purpose, (2) institutions of training, (3) subjects for training, (4) target ability, and (5) curriculum. It is considered adequately possible to design disaster education programs for adults in universities.

Matsui Construction Co., Ltd. is keeping the architectural historical records which the founded Matsui possessed. The historical records of Tsukiji Honganji Hondo's of the CHUTA ITO design are also included. Until now, the historical record of the Matsui family was not open to the public. Tsukiji Honganji Hondo's historical records were open to the public when performing restoration construction. Hondo's construction historical records are A. design original drawings 483 sheet, C. color figure 25 sheet, and D. photo albums three books. The photograph of 95, the photograph of 93, and the photograph of 130 are on three albums, respectively. Moreover, it became clear that existence of the drawing of another proposal exists. Furthermore, all the persons involved in construction work also became clear. Therefore, the construction historical record of Hondo's became the research with discovery of useful new data.

Shonai Earthquake of 1894 was an inland earthquake with magnitude 7.0, and claimed 726 lives and 3858 house collapses in Yamagata prefecture. The authors have been continuing literature surveys on this earthquake and in the previous paper precise damage distributions in Sakata and Matsumine towns were discussed. In this paper, detailed damage distribution for the whole affected area in Shonai Plain is indicated using damage statics rearranged by subdivided sectional unit for each village. Damage distribution is also discussed in relation with subsurface ground conditions.

For the central stations in big cities that serve regional area, it is impossible to discontinue the railway operations and difficult to transfer the railway tracks. The passengers' safety and convenience need to be secured at first in order to start the development of the stations. This paper describes the case of JR Hakata Station project which solved such issues in the large central station development which were restricted by urban conditions, using various structural methods and techniques.

Recently, applications of CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) are expanding to various environmental issues such as pollutant/thermal dispersion in urban areas. The outdoor environment sub-committee of the Architectural Institute of Japan have conducted several benchmark tests for obtaining basic information and knowledge in order to provide the extended practical guidelines of CFD, which can be applied to more broad environmental issues than the present ones. This paper reports the results which considered the sensitivity of various computational conditions in the RANS (Reynolds-Averaged Navier-Stokes equations) model to the prediction accuracy of pollutant concentration distributions for two different configurations.

The seismic isolation retrofit of the main building of the National Museum of Western Art required excavating the foundation ground under the existent building and installing isolation devices beneath the existing footings. Before the installation of isolation devices, it was necessary to construct piles beneath the existing footings in order to support the weight of the building temporarily during excavation process. The piles were made of steel pipe segments, and were driven by oil jacks utilizing the weight of the building for reaction force. During the retrofitting process, the subsidence of the building supported by the piles were monitored and controlled to avoid causing damage to the superstructure.

The paper is aimed to clarify habitants’ life-style in terms of the living activities of exterior common use space in urban villages (chengzhongcun) based on a case study. From the study, we concluded that improving the function of exterior common use space that promotes the communication between local original residents and migrant residents correlated positively with both the trend towards stable settlement and sustainability of mixed social communities in urban villages.

This paper describes the development of cast-in-place concrete piles at the dawn of Japanese foundation technology. The first cast-in-place concrete pile was <i>compressole pile</i> imported from France in 1907. The compressole pile was formed by dropping a hammer on the casted concrete in an excavated hole. Those piles installed at those days still exist in a number of historical buildings during more than 100 years. Following the compressole pile, <i>abbot pile</i> was introduced from the United States in 1910. The <i>abbot pile</i> is same manner to compressole pile, but using a casing tube to make a drilled hole.
