This paper presents a novel method for moving sound source localization and its performance evaluation in actual room environments. The method is based on the MUSIC (MUltiple SIgnal Classification) which is one of the most high resolution localization methods. When using the MUSIC, a computation of eigenvectors of correlation matrix is required for the estimation. It needs often a high computational costs. Especially, in the situation of moving source, it becomes a crucial drawback because the estimation must be conducted at every the observation time. Moreover, since the correlation matrix varies its characteristics due to the spatial-temporal non-stationarity, the matrix have to be estimated using only a few observed samples. It makes the estimation accuracy degraded. In this paper, the PAST (Projection Approximation Subspace Tracking) is applied for sequentially estimating the eigenvectors spanning the subspace. In the PAST, the eigen-decomposition is not required, and therefore it is possible to reduce the computational costs. Several experimental results in the actual room environments are shown to present the superior performance of the proposed method.

In this paper, an application of genetic algorithm for generation of evolutionary initial poses of a quadrupedal robot which reduced degrees of freedom is described. To reduce degree of freedom, each leg of the robot has a slider-crank mechanism and is driven by an actuator. Furthermore we introduced the forward movement mode and the rotating mode because the omnidirection movement should be made possible. To generate the suitable initial pose, the initial angle of four legs are coded under gray code and tuned by an estimation function in each mode with the genetic algorithm. As a result of generation, the cooperation of the legs is realized to move toward the omnidirection. The experimental results demonstrate that the proposed scheme is effective for generation of the suitable initial poses and the robot can walk smoothly with the generated patterns.

In this study, the possibility of the measurement of respiration, heart beat, and body movement on a bed was examined using the dynamic air-pressure sensor aiming at a daily health monitoring. The dynamic air-pressure sensor measures vital information using a change of air pressure. Twelve healthy volunteers participated in this study. The dynamic air-pressure sensor was installed under the bed mat and respiration and heart beat information were measured. This information was compared with the standard waveforms obtained from respiratory belt transducer and the electrocardiograph. As a result, both waveforms demonstrate a high correlation, and confirmed the validity of this method. A change of waveform and a quantitative evaluation of respiration, heart beat, and body movement measured from during sleep using this sensor can be useful for a daily health monitoring.

Servitization of manufacturing industry has become important problem. However, there are very few studies which show specific methods in the manufacturing industry. In this paper, we propose a knowledge whitespace model concept as a value co-creation framework with customers based on Service Dominant Logic in the manufacturing industry. Separate the functions of the target service / product into two hierarchies, the application layer and the platform layer, and remove the functions other than the most important function. Therefore, this model intentionally creates knowledge whitespace and promotes value co-creation with customer. We analyzed concrete examples of development of multiple services and products and examined the effectiveness of the model focusing on relationships, information exchanged, co-created value.

Recently, we are concerned with security because picking and imitation on computer network are increasing. Then, the approach to individual identification from biometric is expected, because it can realize high reliability and it's a natural method. This paper's proposition is to construct individual identification system with the facial skin thermogram (FST) which is robust about illumination condition. FST has no shadow with illumination because it catches infrared rays light and makes an image. Then, we extract individual feature from FST by image processing and examine evaluation method to identify individual. However, facial skin temperature is ruled by autonomous nerve system. Especially, nasal skin temperature is affected by a mental influence like stress and arousal level. And we limited identification object to the measurement of face image in the rest state. We applied two dimensional discrete fourier transform (2DDFT) as a method of extracting individual feature, because we tried to convert the individual feature of FST into spatial frequency feature. Afterwards, we identified individual by pattern matching. Identification experiment was done in 30 registered patterns and 200 input patterns, consequently correct acceptance rate 91.0[%] and correct rejection rate 91.0[%] was able to be obtained. Moreover, we confirmed individual feature appeared in low frequency element of FST.

<p>In this paper, we propose a new intelligent security camera system, that is named COMDES, for automated detection of snatching incidents on streets during the night by using LSTM network. Although over a half of all snatching incidents occur at night, this has not been considered in past studies. Thus, we have proposed an intelligent security camera system using a deep neural network and snapshot of a video frame to detect snatching incidents in the night by our previous paper. The COMDES can perform more efficient detection of snatching than our previous paper, by using sequential frames observed in the criminal scene and LSTM. It can classifies the situations into criminal or non-criminal scenes precisely. The experimental results show that the system, COMDES, can effectively detect snatching incidents with an accuracy of 98.89%.</p>

<p>Asynchronous circuits are a technique in order to solve the some serious synchronous circuits' problems such as clock skew, power consumption and electromagnetic noise. In this paper, we designed histerisial variable-threshold gates based on neuron MOS transistors for asynchronous circuits. The proposed hysteresial variable-threshold gates are also expected usuful for neural networks or machine larning for the hysteresis, that is memory, characteristics. The developed gates having variable-threshold operations can be used to set a threshold of a neuron. The simulation results of hysteresial variable-threshold gates are provided with SPICE simulator. The synthesized hysterisial variable-threshold gates has three gate-inputs and two control wires. Then asynchronous half-adder is demonstrated as an arithmetic circuit example.</p>

<p>This paper describes the development of 3-D human recognition system of flying drone system for emergency rescue and investigation. In this system, deep neural network and its application for 3-D object recognition are key techniques for human detection from a free viewpoint. Some appearance based characteristics are captured as movie frames, and the system uses deep neural networks to automatically classify concerned object. The proposed system performs well that many kinds of views of personnels can be recognized from bird's-eye view. Experimental results show that the system can effectively recognize human objects with high accuracy.</p>

<p>An alternative learning and its application to construct a robust object recognition system for intelligent security camera(RORSIS) is presented in this paper. We show some experimental results of the development of the new robust 3-D object recognition system for intelligent security camera. In this system, a deep neural network and alternative learning using 3-D CG are key techniques for object recognition from a free viewpoint. Alternative learning is effective approach for the machine learning that depends on huge amount of tarining data. Some appearance based characteristics are determined from captured images, and the system uses a deep neural network, called AlexNet, to automatically classify bicycle, automobile and so on. The proposed system shows that several kinds of equipments can be recognized from a free view point. Experimental results show that the system can effectively recognize four kinds of real objects with 99.5% accuracy.</p>

In a system that suppresses power fluctuation caused by wind power and solar power generation by a storage battery (We call it wind turbine and photovoltaic power generation system, WPBHS), it is assumed that the number of constituent equipment is large. Therefore, by dividing the constituent equipment into a plurality of groups (We call it grouping), the operation plan is optimized dispersedly. In this case, it has been shown that WPBHS has fault tolerance by overlapping storage batteries in plural groups. Also, enumerating the grouping in advance allows us to switch the grouping and recover the system immediately when a system failure occurs. Motivated by this, we consider an overlapped grouping optimization problem focused on the performance deterioration and fault tolerance of the distributed management system. Enumerating the group, especially, the overlapped group requires large computational load with the more devices added. First, this paper formulates overlapped grouping optimization for WPBHS. Second, this paper proposes a graph representation method of the overlapped grouping and a near-optimal enumeration method.

Business processes are defined as functions and information relationships between functions in the phase of business requirement definition when enterprise information systems are developed. The function which is defined in the phase of business requirement definition is decomposed into the unit called a program or a module in the lower phase. The description method of the flow chart type such as DFD has been used for the visualization of the decomposition of function conventionally. In recent years, many enterprise information systems are improved by executing Business Process Re-engineering (BPR) or introducing Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP). In this case, the definition of the information relationships between functions is important. The examples utilizing the description method of the matrix type called G-RD are seen to visualize information relationships. Therefore, the comparative experiment is performed by system engineers to visualize the same business processes utilizing DFD and G-RD. In this experiment, system engineers decompose functions and visualize functions and information relationships between functions. And information relationships which are added or changed by the decomposition of functions are measured. As the result, it is proved that G-RD is able to have prevent omissions or errors of information relationships.

In conventional bill money recognition machines, we develop the recognition algorithm according to the transaction speed and diffierence of various specifications. However, development of the algorithm for the recognition has been based on the trial and error method. Many researchers have reported that neural networks are suitable for pattern recognition because of the ability of selforganization, parallel processing, and generalization. In this paper, we present a new bill money recognition method with neural network and show the effectiveness of the present algorithm compared with the conventional method by discrimination functions. Furthermore, we transform bill money data by FFT into frequency domain to reduce influence of the noise due to conveyed fluctuation. Then we adopt these Fourier coefficients or its amplitudes as input of the neural network. We show that the ability of recognition can be evaluated in detail by introducing a new measure of reliability.

This paper describes an analysis of the close to carrier phase-noise characteristics of the narrow-band Colpitts oscillators. The open-loop impedance, that is, series of the SC-cut resonator and the oscillator active circuit, is calculated using a linear circuit model with a non-linear transistor model. It is shown that the loaded Q can be improved by introducing the resonator filter in the oscillation circuit. Based on the Leeson's model, the near carrier phase-noise is estimated using the calculated Q values. The results corresponded well with the previous experiments. It is also shown that the phase-noise can be exceedingly improved, that is, under -148 dBc/Hz at 10Hz offset, by using resonator filter with high Q.

Genetic Network Programming (GNP) is an evolutionary computation which represents its solutions using graph structures. Since GNP can create quite compact programs and has an implicit memory function, it has been clarified that GNP works well especially in dynamic environments. In addition, a study on creating trading rules on stock markets using GNP with Importance Index (GNP-IMX) has been done. IMX is a new element which is a criterion for decision making. In this paper, we combined GNP-IMX with Actor-Critic (GNP-IMX&AC) and create trading rules on stock markets. Evolution-based methods evolve their programs after enough period of time because they must calculate fitness values, however reinforcement learning can change programs during the period, therefore the trading rules can be created efficiently. In the simulation, the proposed method is trained using the stock prices of 10 brands in 2002 and 2003. Then the generalization ability is tested using the stock prices in 2004. The simulation results show that the proposed method can obtain larger profits than GNP-IMX without AC and Buy&Hold.

The paper treats an optimal routing problem for sightseeing (ORPS) in which we consider time varying travel time and location value. ORPS is defined on a complete graph in which location values are associated with node weight while travel time depends on edge weight. The aim of the problem is to construct a path with maximal total value under the condition that the total travel time does not exceed a time limit. In our model, the location value and the travel time are given as functions with respect to time. For the case that all the time functions are represented as piece-wise constant, we verify its ΝΡ-completeness.We present an algorithm to find the exact solution based on the backtrack searching and also propose a heuristic algorithm based on the time domain decomposition approach. The heuristic algorithm can lead good quality of approximate solutions, with drastically reduced computation time. To evaluate the algorithms, a computational experiment is given. The experimental results demonstrate that computing time by exact algorithm grow exponentially with the increase in nodes and time limits, whereas the heuristic approach derive approximate solution of 92% quality to the exact one within one second for practical problem size.

Recently, because aging is progressing in our country, cerebral disease is becoming a serious problem. Therefore, viewing this problem objectively, we can say support of aging and dementia patients is a very useful research theme. In this time, we examine the drinking condition as one noticing point in a case of carrying out the rank evaluation of dementia. Because it is generally known the condition like dementia by alcohol, dementia is deeply involved with alcohol. In this time's experiment, we examined the condition like dementia by alcohol. We carried out the experiment to observe an internal condition (cognitive ability) and an external condition (expression control ability) for the first stage and second stage in drinking level. First, by assessment of cognitive ability, though decline of cognitive ability by drinking occurs whole brain, it is shown to influence to left-brain in first step. Next, by assessment of expression control ability, we showed AU influenced by drinking in expression's output level. By these 2 experiments, we found out the concrete symptom of the condition like dementia by alcohol. In future, we examine the relationship between the condition like dementia by alcohol and dementia, and then we proceed advancing of rank evaluation of dementia.

Dual-task paradigm is a behavioral procedure in which subjects are required to perform two independent tasks in parallel, each of which involves a distinct stimulus-response association that leads to a unique goal. Although dual tasks are widely used in human studies, they are seldom used in animals. One such rare case was a rat simultaneous temporal processing (STP) task, in which rats were asked to time two different intervals simultaneously(1). However, there are a few limitations in this paradigm, such that, for example, each of the two component tasks was not clearly associated with a unique stimulus-response association. In this report, in order to better characterize temporal dual-task performance in rats, we developed a modified version of the STP task that was comprised of two clearly-divided component tasks, and equipped our experimental system with a novel video-based motion tracking system. We show that even under this more rigidly controlled dual-task setting, rats are able to time two different intervals virtually without interference, and that our tracking system can simultaneously detect head-direction and body-location of a rat with high accuracy. These results suggest that the present experimental paradigm should be useful for investigating cognitive processes that underlie dual-task performance at both the behavioral and neuronal levels.

This paper describes the generation of adaptive gait patterns using new Central Pattern Generators (CPGs) including motor dynamic models for a quadruped robot under various environment. The CPGs act as the flexible oscillators of the joints and make the desired angle of the joints. The CPGs are mutually connected each other, and the sets of their coupling parameters are adjusted by genetic algorithm so that the quadruped robot can realize the stable and adequate gait patterns. As a result of generation, the suitable CPG networks for not only a walking straight gait pattern but also rotation gait patterns are obtained. Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed CPG networks are effective to automatically adjust the adaptive gait patterns for the tested quadruped robot under various environment. Furthermore, the target tracking control based on image processing is achieved by combining the generated gait patterns.

This paper presents a method for integrating gamma correction and gain control functions on a CMOS image sensor with logarithmic response. The proposed method is based on a fact that gain variation and level shifting in logarithmic compressed domain are equivalent to the gamma correction and the gain control, respectively, in the exponentially expanded domain. The prototype chip integrating proposed function is fabricated with triple-metal double poly-silicon n-well 0.6μm CMOS technology. As a result of calculation using measurement data of test circuits, the gamma value can be adjusted to 0.45 when the gain given in the logarithmic compressed domain is 0.741, and a gain of 20dB is obtained by the voltage level shift of 60mV.
