The objective of the present study is to investigate an accuracy of the mixed interpolation of tensorial components triangular shell element proposed by Lee and Bathe in 2004 in geometrically nonlinear problems. A large deformation analysis of a pinched cylinder subjected to a concentrated load is conducted and the performance of MITC3 element comparing with the one by MITC4 element is discussed.

用ふべき保温材の總量が與へられた時に、之を太い主管と細い支管とへ如何なる割合に用ふべきかを管周より熱損失が最小なるべしと云ふ條件によつて求めた。此問題は種々な場合に区別して考へねばならぬが、此處には(1)主管支管共に内部の温度一定共通の場合即蒸気管の如き場合、(2)主管支管の内部温度は夫々一定なるも共通ならざる場合即蒸気管で内部の圧力の異つた時の如き場合及(3)管内を水の如きものが流れ従つて内温が一定の法則に従つて變化する場合とを取扱つた。そして(1)の場合に對しては線圖を與へて簡単に保温材の厚さの割合を定め得る様にし、他の場合に對しても同様な手段で線圖を求め得る事を示した。

A survey was made to cover the recent development in the finite element analysis of shell structures. It was found that the considerable efforts have been made in the past five years to create new types of finite elements for analyzing various mechanical behaviors of shell structures, particularly of composite shell structures.

A new type of a folding electric wheelchair is proposed. It can be moved on a flat floor with the omni-directional motion and it is easily transportable because of the light framework body and the equipment of a simple drive mechanism two sets of the powered wheel steering and drive unit are mounted on the front and the rear positions of the chassis like a skate board. This paper deals with the prototype of the wheelchair developed for design of the motion control system and determination of the specifications on the new type one.

An innovation estimation scheme is conceived to solve the intial and divergent problems for an all-accelerometer inertial navigation system (INS).The reformulated unobservable system with six accelerometers mounted diagonally on each surface of a cubic is investigated.An own-ship trajectory estimator produces extra pseudo measurements in position and velocity of the vehicle to help the Kalman filter in achieving convergence subject to unknown initial values.It also provides an upperbound value for the initiation of the platform attitude.A simulation case with arbitray initial values verifies the effectiveness of using this information infusing concept in obtaining a convergent INS state estimation.

The paper reports on the development of a condensing water heater with a thermal efficiency of 95 percent (based on the net calorific value at maximum rated output) and thermal output of 35 kilowatts. The thermal efficiency of conventional instantaneous water heaters is around 80%. Fitting a highly durable latent heat exchanger to recover even the latent heat in the steam in the exhaust gas gives the unit a thermal efficiency of 95%, a world best for an instantaneous water heater. The unit is equipped with a full primary combustion ceramic burner, reducing emissions of NO_x (crucial to global environmental protection) to 30ppm, half the level of emissions of current low NO_x water heaters. The heater was injected into the market in October 1999.

We developed a high-speed vision robot system that can be applied to various types of products. The developed system consists of a robot with cameras and lights, and a computer for teaching and image processing. In the system many points on any faces of the product can be inspected without stopping with the help of the developed robot path planning and the synchronous method between robot path and image input. Moreover, we developed standard inspection algorithm and unified environment for robot and vision teaching. Therefore the teaching operation can be done without programming. This system is currently in use in our plants so that it can be helpful in keeping high quality of products.

An integrated system with both Computer Aided Design (CAD) and Computer Aided Engineering (CAE) has been developed. Most of these systems mainly focus on the effectiveness of constructing Finite Element (FE) model In these systems, a FE model is automatically constructed and calculation is automatically carried out. But a good design candidate cannot be obtained since some analysis tools for finding out it effectively are not included. In this paper, firstly some problems in current CAE systems are made clear. Secondly, in order to overcome these problems, two new analyses, that are FOA( First Order Analysis) in a concept design phase and a optimization tool based on a reduction technique in detailed design phase, are presented. Finally, in order to perform these analyses in a integrated system, a few concepts of necessary technique are proposed.

本論文は,両側に張出しを持つはりと片側にのみ張出しを持つはりとの横振動特性を調べることを目的としており,2個の力の作用する両端自由はりと,1個の力の作用する一端支持,一端自由のはりとの運動方程式を解き,その解に支持点位置での条件を適用することによって振動数方程式を求め,振動数を計算し,振動数に与える張出し部の長さの影響を明らかにし,実験によってその結果をためした.

The heat transfer characteristics and flow behavior in a rectangular passage with two opposite 45゜skewed ribs for turbine rotor blade have been investigated for Reynolds numbers from 7800 to 19000. In this blade, the spanwise coolant passage at the trailing edge region whose thickness is very thin is chosen, so the channel aspect ratio(=width/height of channel)is extremely high, 4.76. Therefore the heat transfer experiment in the high aspect ratio cooling channel was performed using thermochromic liquid crystal and thermocouples. Furthermore the calculation of flow and heat transfer was carried out using CFD analysis code to understand the heat transfer experimental results. The enhanced heat transfer coefficients on the smooth side wall at rib leading end were the same level as those on the rib roughened walls.

"On-demand bus system" is an approach to improve mobility in a city. Time flexibility is one of the advantages of On-demand bus system. However, passengers feel inconvenient because the bus often arrives later than the expected time. This paper describes "A New On-demand bus system" which passengers can get time schedule of the bus during reservation, and bus always arrives on schedule. IT system based on original scheduling algorithm, database technology and mobile communication technology between driver and server play an important role in implementing system. The experiment had been carried out in Kashiwa city. The results show some values of "A New On-demand bus system".

An advanced on-demand bus system has been developed for regional public transportation using the advanced electric buses (WEB) as a part of NEDO's project. The on-demand system utilizes advanced ITS and associated technologies. It consists of three subsystems of a driver navigation system responding to demands by operations on mobile phones, a traffic running simulator for best routing and an estimation system for number of passengers. On-road proving tests were carried out using WEB in Honjo city, Saitama prefecture, and the reliability and the convenience for passengers' mobility have been clarified.
