When one of the dominant harmonics (the fundamental frequency and its harmonic components) is close to the first formant frequency, the effect of the source-filter interaction can induce voice register transition, in which the vocal-fold vibration becomes unstable and the pitch jumps abruptly. We investigated the relationship between the dominant harmonics, the first formant frequency, and the pitch jump width in the modal-falsetto transition to examine the effect of source-filter interaction. We measured temporal patterns of the fundamental frequency and the first formant when subjects performed rising glissandi with /a/ and /i/ vowels. For the /a/ vowel, there were weak proximity relationships between the dominant harmonics and first formant during the transition, indicating that source-induced transition occurred. For the /i/ vowel, in contrast, the fundamental frequency was regularly close to the first formant in the transition, indicating that the acoustically induced transition was caused by the source-filter interaction. Additionally, it was found that the difference between these two mechanisms had little influence on the pitch jump width. Finally, we concluded that the source-filter interaction is a contributory factor of the modal-falsetto transition, in agreement with foregoing studies.

飯豊山地のざくろ石黒雲母白雲母花崗岩は,足尾帯の堆積岩類中の層理面に平行に貫入した多数の板状小岩体を成している.主に石英,斜長石,カリ長石,黒雲母,白雲母およびざくろ石からなり,中-細粒で優白質な岩相を呈する.全岩化学組成は過アルミナ質で,Al2O2/ (CaO+Na2O+K2O)(モル比)は1.05〜1.19を示す.ざくろ石はスペッサルティン成分に富み(sps.26.69〜46.12),リムでよりMnに富みMgに乏しい逆累帯構造を示す.また,ざくろ石のMn/ (Mg+Fe+Mn+Ca)値(原子比)と全岩組成におけるMnO/ (MgO+FeOt+MnO+CaO)値(モル比)との間には正の相関が認められる.黒雲母のMg/ (Mg+Fe+Mn)値(原子比)と全岩のMgO/ (MgO+FeOt+MnO)値(モル比)や斜長石のAn組成と全岩のCaO/ (CaO+Na2O+K2O)値(重量比)との間にも正の相関が認められる.ざくろ石黒雲母白雲母花崗岩中のざくろ石はスペッサルティン成分に富み,逆累帯構造を示し,ざくろ石の組成と全岩組成の間に相関が認められることから,Mnに富んだ過アルミナ質のマグマから晶出したものと考えられる.また,黒雲母や斜長石もそれらの組成と全岩組成との間に相関が認められることから,過アルミナ質のマグマから晶出したものと考えられる. グラニュライト相泥質変成岩の部分溶融によって形成された日高変成帯の含ざくろ石トーナル岩の組成は,飯豊山地のざくろ石黒雲母白雲母花崗岩に比べ,Or成分に乏しくAn成分に富んでおり,ノルムAn-Ab-Or図上で,両者はコーティクティック曲線によって隔てられている.このことは,日高変成帯に代表される,高温型変成帯の泥質グラニュライトの部分溶融によって生じたマグマから飯豊山地のざくろ石黒雲母白雲母花崗岩を形成したマグマを導くことは難しいことを示している.また,日高変成帯の含ざくろ石トーナル岩中のざくろ石の組成は,飯豊山地のものに比べMnに乏しく(sps.2.4-6.1%),ざくろ石晶出時の温度・圧力とマグマの組成の違いを反映しているものと考えられる.

This study has been undertaken with the aim of clarifying aspects of the music theory of tōgaku in the Heian and Kamakura periods (11th to 13th centuries). It surveys the use of the terms tada-byōshi and gaku-byōshi. The introduction explains background information and the significance of this study. The second section expresses my approach to this study. The third section surveys the historical sources for the description of the terms tada-byōshi and gaku-byōshi. Five music treatises are examined: Shin yakaku-shō, Zappi betsuroku, Zan’ya-shō (Fujiwara no Takamichi, 1220s'), Kaichiku-shō (Ōga-family music household, late Heian to Kamakura), Gakki (a part of Kasuga gakusho held by Kasuga Taisha shrine, early Kamakura). The fourth section reaches a conclusion, and suggests the possibility that the terms tada-byōshi and gaku-byōshi are related to the modern playing styles of tōgaku, namely kangen-buki and bugaku-buki.

This article clarifies the evolution and features of Chinese 'deliberative democracy', which has drawn attention with its importance in 'the opinions of the CPC Central Committee on Strengthening the Work of Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference', publicly disclosed on February 8th, 2006, and contributed to the construction of the institution by publishing another document proposing to promote socialist consultative democracy on February 10th, 2015. From a viewpoint of 'the modernization of the state governance system and capacity', which was raised in the third plenary session of the 18th CPC Central Committee on November 12th, 2013, this article seeks to explore not only the purpose of 'deliberative democracy', which is inherent to democracy, but also the political and social context functioning as a tool of state governance. In so doing, this paper examines Zhejiang province as a wide variety of practices about 'deliberative democracy' in Chinese grassroots society including 'democratic deliberation' in Wenling city and 'village sage council' in Deqing county. This paper also considers the process of reconstructing consultative authoritarianism, which is currently attempting to balance democracy with governance in the Chinese government.

There are many human infectious diseases derived from pathogenic viruses. In line with the infectious disease surveillance systems of Osaka City, the staff of our institute′s department of microbiology seek to isolate and identify human pathogenic viruses from patient specimens using a number of routine methods. In the present review, I describe methods of pathogenic virus identification using the standard virus neutralization test and the latest methods using virus genome gene analysis, together with Japanese law on infectious disease.
