Peripheral-type benzodiazepine receptor (PBR) and central-type benzodiazepine receptor (CBR) in salivary gland play a role in the inhibitory regulation of salivary secretion in rodents. Diazepam-binding inhibitor (DBI), an endogenous ligand for PBR, produces neurosteroids, which modulate CBR activity. In this study, we investigated the effect of repetitive administration of diazepam (DZP) on salivary secretion and expression of DBI mRNA and peptide. Moreover, mRNA expression of PBR and pituitary adenylate cyclase–activating polypeptide (PACAP), a transcriptional regulator for DBI promoter, was evaluated after repetitive administration of DZP. Repetitive administration, but not single administration, of 0.4 mg/kg DZP caused inhibition of salivary secretion and enhanced expression of DBI, PACAP, and PBR mRNA in rat salivary gland, with an increase in production of DBI peptide. These results suggest that repetitive administration of DZP stimulates DBI production, which may result in an increase in the suppressive effect of DZP on salivary secretion.

甲骨文字のデジタル化において,文字符号化して問題ないか,あるいは画像として扱うべきかは,拓本資料の鮮明さや掲出例数を考慮して判断しなければならない.我々は印刷物として公表されたデータベースである 『殷墟卜辭綜類』 と 『殷墟甲骨刻辭類纂』 に基づいた検討をすすめているが,全て手書き資料であり,また,そこに模写された文字の集合も明確ではないため,文字認識的な手法をとることができない.本研究では,掲出例数を概算するため,両書に共通するレイアウト構造をもとに模写テキストを画像分解する方法を検討した.両書の画像分解精度が大きく異なる結果が得られたが,この原因は両書の編集・出版方針の違いによると推測される.また,本研究の手法の適用範囲についても報告する.

国際的にみて, 精神的外傷を引き起こすような死別に対し, 十分に対処がとられている社会は少ない.これにもかかわらず, 死別に対する反応を社会的特性という観点でとらえる人類学的研究はごくわずかであり, 死への悲嘆反応は, 心身医学的問題としてとらえられている傾向がある.本稿では, オマーンの伝統的な社会に存続する不慮の死における死者の生き返り(zombification), そして呪術や魔法に関する信仰(信念)を紹介する.これらの反応は社会的に容認されており, 死者の死の否定を基礎としている.さらに考察では, これらを説明モデルという概念を用いて分析し, 世界各地で観察される類似する悲嘆反応を欧米のタナトロジー(死亡学)研究におけるそれと比較し, 新たな視点で論じる.

This paper presents the technique for improving the accuracy and reliability of an autonomous mobile robot localization. Localization based on 2D LIDAR is not always satisfactory due to occlusion. Use of 3D LIDAR improves the reliability by greater field of view. However, lack of 3D objects around the robot may result in poor matching between the observation and the 3D map. Even in this case, the different brightness of the ground surface helps localization. In this paper, we propose an efficient expression of 3D map by considering of LIDAR intensity. Experiment result shows successful localization in a trail through outdoor open grass fields.
