活断層の詳細位置・変位地形の形状・平均変位速度といった地理情報は,地震発生予測のみならず,土地利用上の配慮により被害軽減を計るためにも有効な情報である.筆者らは糸魚川-静岡構造線活断層帯に関する基礎データと,活断層と変位地形の関係をビジュアルに表現したグラフィクスとをwebGIS上に取りまとめ,「糸魚川-静岡構造線活断層情報ステーション」としてインターネット公開した.本論文は,被害軽減に資する活断層情報提供システムの構築方法を提示する.これまでに糸魚川-静岡構造線北部および中部について,平均変位速度の詳細な分布を明らかにした.この情報は,断層の地震時挙動の推定や強震動予測を可能にする可能性がある.さらに縮尺1.5万分の1の航空写真を用いた写真測量により,高密度・高解像度DEMを作成した.人工改変により消失している変位地形については,1940年代や1960年代に撮影された航空写真の写真測量により再現し,その形状を計測した.写真測量システムを用いた地形解析によって,断層変位地形に関する高密度な解析が可能となり,数値情報として整備された.

The purpose of the paper is to analyse some regularities constituting the local insect fauna, based on the data of the geographical distributions of butterflies of the Japanese Archipelago including Ogasawara Is. and of leaf beetles of the Ryukyu Archipelago and the Island of Yakushima. 1) Relations of the total number of species (y) to areas (x). On the geographical distributions of butterflies of the Japanese Archipelago, the regression line and correlation coefficient are : log y=0.281 log x+0.971,r=+0.902,DF=68 On leafbeetles of the Ryukyu Archipelago and the Island of Yakushima, the formula is : log y=0.286 log x+1.083,r=+0.967,DF=4 2) Relations of average size of genera to the total number of species. The average number of species per genus increases in accordance with the increase of total number of species. However, in the case of butterflies the relations of the total number of genera (y) to the total number of species (x) can be given approximately by the following formula with correlation coefficient : y=0.652 x+5.141,r=+0.997,DF=68 In the case of leafbeetles, by : y=0.548 x+9.160,r=0.986,DF=4 3) Relations of index of diversity of genus to total number of species. Simpson's index of diversity (1949) is useful to examine the concentration or diversity of generic size in areas. The value increases in accordance with the increase of total number of species. The relations of index of diversity of genus (y) to total number of species (x) is given by : y=0.696 x+26.297,r=+0.866,DF=68 In the case of leafbeetles, by : y=0.614 x+27.769,r=+0.726,DF=4 (P (4,0.1)=0.729) In the case of leafbeetles the level of significance is only slightly larger than 10 per cent. Since there is little evidence available on this regularity, it is necessary to accumulate further evidence from other taxonomic groups.

This century is often called as "Century of media". Various kinds of communication media have made rapid progress and grown to be major mass media. As a result, the distance between actual environment and the environment made by media have become enlarged. On the other hand, media have had a great influence over political, economical and cultural situations through this century. And now, the circumstance of media is at a great turning point. In this paper I take a general view on various and continual arguments about "pseudo-environment" by many scholars and journalists.

<p>In my previous article "Aristotle's Theory on Acting", I showed that Aristotle's idea was a theoretical source of the European modern non-musical and prosaic theatre. But we can find another theoretical source which defends a musical and versified theatre in the thought of Middle Stoa, especially of Diogenes of Babylon (c. 240-c. 152BC), restored thanks to a new edition of Philodemus' <i>On Music</i> (2007).</p><p>Referring to Plato's theory of musical education, Diogenes justifies the Hellenistic form of the tragedy performance, focusing on the solo chant of "tragic singers [tragôidoi]". This celebration of musical theatre is also based on the Stoic view of language and religion, which favours musical and versified speeches, considered as a natural manifestation of the greatness of gods and virtuous men, and as an auto-celebration of the life itself. According to Heraclides Ponticus, a pupil of Plato, Diogenes affirms that the musical acting practice can lead to all virtues. This theory considers the acting [hupokrisis] not as an act of disguising ("hypocrisy"), but as the means of constructing oneself as a virtuous man, referring to the model of "tragic singers" who construct their musical body through everyday training. This way of thinking about the musical, acting body offers a vision totally different from Aristotle's, who considered the same kind of body as the body of a slave.</p>

本論文ではTwitterへの単旋律データの投稿と,これらを素材として再利用することで作曲を行うことのできるシステムについて述べる.素材の再利用によって作られた曲データは再びTwitterに投稿でき,また改編可能にすることで未完成状態での投稿や,作曲の過程を共有することができる.多くの作曲システムは一人で作曲することが前提のシステムとなっており,素材データの作成,共有という概念はなく,プロの作った素材を購入して使用するのが一般的となっていた.そこで我々はTwitterのつぶやきのような気軽さで旋律を投稿でき,ユーザー同士のつながりを生かした多人数参加型の作曲システムを設計することを考えた.具体的にはデータ形式としてMML(Music Macro Language)を採用することで,テキストで音楽を表現することを可能とした.そして素材の作成からTwitterへの投稿,投稿された素材を利用した作曲とその曲のTwitterへの投稿,さらに投稿された曲の改変までを統合的に行えるシステムを実装した.

Background: Acute kidney injury (AKI) and acute hyperglycemia are associated with unfavorable outcomes. The impact of acute hyperglycemia on the development of AKI after acute myocardial infarction (AMI), however, remains unclear. This study was undertaken to assess the relationship between admission glucose and incidence of AKI after AMI. Methods and Results: This study consisted of 760 patients with AMI admitted to the National Cerebral and Cardiovascular Center within 48h after symptom onset. Blood sample was obtained on admission and repeated sampling was done at least every 1 or 2 days during the first week. AKI was diagnosed as increase in serum creatinine ≥0.3mg/dl or ≥50% within any 48h. Ninety-six patients (13%) had AKI during hospitalization for AMI, and these patients had higher in-hospital mortality than those without AKI (25% vs. 3%, P<0.001). Patients with AKI had higher plasma glucose (PG) on admission than those without (222±105mg/dl vs. 166±69mg/dl, P<0.001). The incidence of AKI increased as admission PG rose: 7% with PG <120mg/dl; 9% with PG 120–160mg/dl; 11% with PG 160–200mg/dl; and 28% with PG >200mg/dl (P<0.01). On multivariate analysis admission PG was an independent predictor of AKI (odds ratio, 1.10; 95% confidence interval: 1.03–1.18, P=0.02). Conclusions: Admission hyperglycemia might have contributed to the development of AKI in patients with AMI.  (Circ J 2014; 78: 1475–1480)

The major earthquakes of M=7 class, so-called Geiyo earthquake, have occurred in the subducted slab of the Philippine Sea plate under Aki-nada and Iyo-nada sea. The upper surface of the Philippine Sea plate is located in the depth from 40-45km in this region. Five Geiyo earthquakes can be found in 1649, 1686, 1857, 1905, and 2001 since 17th century. Magnitudes M of the older 4 events were larger than 7, while that of the last one is 6.7 in JMA (Japan Meteorological Agency) scale. Magnitudes and locations of focal regions of them were redetermined from seismic intensity data by the method of an attenuation curve fitting and of the seismic intensity inversion. Optimal magnitudes of old events were obtained between 6.7 to 6.9. This results show the old 4 events have almost the same magnitude as the 2001 event. One of the possible reasons why the former values were overestimated is that the empirical relation between magnitude and isoseismal area from inland shallow earthquakes was applied to determine the magnitude of the historical intraslab events such as Geiyo earthquakes.

本稿では、福島方言の問い返し疑問文が2種類のイントネーションパターンをとることを示し、音声的な特徴をふまえたうえで、イントネーションによる発話意図の違いを記述した。2つのパターンのうち、(問い返し以外の)疑問文一般でも使用されるものを「疑問汎用型」、問い返しの場合にのみ使われるものを「問い返し専用型」とすると、両パターンの音声的特徴(2節)基本的意味(3 .2節)は次のようにまとめられる。a.)疑問汎用型(-↘↗) 音声的特徴 : 一語文の場合は文頭、複数の語からなる文の場合は述語部の開始点から始まって文末の手前までの間に高くなり、そのあと文末で一度下がってから上昇調をとる。基本的意味 : 相手の発話そのものは理解したうえで、事実(現実世界のことがら)について改めて問い返していることを示す b.) 問い返し専用型(_↗) 音声的特徴 : 一語文の場合は文頭、複数の語からなる文の場合は述語部の開始点から、音が低いまま推移し、文末で上昇調をとる 基本的意味 : 相手の発話がそのままでは理解できず、相手の発した言語表現そのものについての、メタ言語的なレベルでの問い返しをおこなっていることを示す 上記の基本的意味に関連して、基本的に疑問汎用型の問い返し疑問文が間接話法的な性格を示すのに対し、問い返し専用型の問い返し疑問文は直接話法的な性格を示す(3.3 節)。
