Problems concerning working women and child-rearing, as well as economic problems, attract strong attention from the aspects of childcare, social welfare, clinical psychology and ethics. The social understanding of "child-rearing by mothers" as a private problem has deepened also as a public problem. The publication of "Collection of articles and documents on women's work before the war" is a result of my research to date, collaborative research with people involved in the Women's and Minor's Bureau. This is related to the analysis of the history of ideas of working women and child-rearing. In this present study, discussion is especially based on the viewpoint of the history of ideas in postwar Japan. Taking publicness and changing gender roles into consideration, I argue that the important viewpoints for analyzing reality include keeping an eye to human rights, citizens' and human dignity and grasping domestic and international correlative dynamics.

The ratio of the Japanese government long-term debt to GDP in 2006 is 117%. It is the worst in OECD countries. Japan is in the extraordinary situation where the Japanese government has to spend over 40% of its tax revenue to national debt service. A moment of great crisis of national bankruptcy is coming. However the Japanese government continues to issue the ten-year Japanese Government bonds with a very low coupon rate, while every year it must get huge money by government bond from a financial market already suffering its oversupply. At first this paper focuses on the historical accumulation of the Japanese government bonds. One of the major factors that allowed the Japanese government to expand public finance depending on government bond is article 4 of the Public Finance Law. Issuing construction bonds to finance public work has no limit except approval by Parliament according to this article. Secondly this paper discusses the credibility of the state or the government as a borrower. The economic power of the state to levy tax is originally based on the political power of the state as a political subject. Therefore the economic power of the state dually influences a relationship between creditor and debtor as market mechanism. Although it usually strengthens the credibility of the state as a borrower, it might ruin its creditors facing a crucial fiscal crisis.

何かを貸してくれるように求めたり,相手が欲しがっている物を差し出したりといった援助は私たちの生活の至るところでおこなわれている.本稿では,そのようなありふれたやりとりが成り立つ仕組みの解明を目指し,人々の発話や身体動作を微視的に分析する相互行為研究の文献を紹介する.ここでの「微視的分析」とは,発話における1 つ1 つの表現の選び方や身体動作におけるタイミングや軌道といった,相互行為の中で時々刻々となされていくふるまいの調整について,その継起関係や共起関係を質的に記述していくような分析を指す. 本稿で紹介する文献は「援助のリクルートメント(recruitment of assistance)」というアイデアに基づき,発話による援助の依頼や身体動作による援助の引き出しを1 つの連続体(continuum)をなすものとして捉え,包括的に扱うことを提案している.第1 論文は,リクルートメントのために用いられる5 つの方法の特定と比較をおこなっている.また,これらの方法に関連して「補助的な行為(subsidiary actions)」というふるまいについて記述をおこなっている.第2 論文は,何かを探している(searching for)ことを示す様々な身体動作に焦点を当て,それらが他者から援助を引き出す方法として用いられていることを示している.なお,第2 論文はオンラインジャーナルに掲載されたものであり,参与者たちのふるまいを文字化したトランスクリプトのみならず,実際のビデオデータを参照しながら読み進めることができる. 以上2 編の文献は,第1 にはコミュニケーション研究を専門とする多くの研究者にとって役立つものだろう.また,人間と共棲するロボットの開発などを専門とする読者にとっても,示唆的な知見が提示されていると思われる.加えて,介護や看護などの実践に携わる方々にとっては,「当たり前」になっているふるまいの巧みさを捉え直し,改善していく手がかりとなるかもしれない.相互行為研究以外の分野を専門とする読者に文献を紹介するにあたり,本稿では事例と分析の概要を示すだけにとどめた.紹介した両文献に関心をもっていただけた方は,ぜひ,元の文献に掲載されている完全な事例と詳細な分析にあたっていただければ幸いである.

Gatekeeping procedures and mixture procedures are multiple testing procedures controlling the familywise error rate in the strong sense, and deal with hierarchically ordered multiple objectives in clinical trials. As applications of gatekeeping procedures and mixture procedures have been increasing, methodological issues and examples with respect to these procedures have drawn attention. In this article, we show the relationship of the closed testing procedure and gatekeeping procedures, the relationship of gatekeeping procedures and mixture procedures.

An 11-year-old girl with obstructive hydrocephalus developed akinetic mutism after treatment for hydrocephalus due to aqueductal stenosis by ventriculoperitoneal (VP) shunting. Bilateral chronic subdural hematomas developed about 2 months after insertion of the VP shunt and were evacuated. Postoperatively, the patient developed akinetic mutism, but her condition improved after administration of bromocriptine. Absence of abnormalities on dopamine transporter single photon emission computed tomography, lack of clinical response to levodopa treatment, and normal homovanillic acid concentration in the cerebrospinal fluid all indicated normal dopamine production. Pressure on the periventricular monoamine projections in the thalamus and hypothalamus without major dopamine deprivation in the striatum may have been the most important factors in the development of akinetic mutism in this patient.
