In this paper, we propose a research approach that is used in cognitive science to investigate more complex coordination mechanisms between three or more people. That is, we propose an approach that uses position data to quantitatively analyze group behavior and to link these characteristics with the cognition of anticipating others' behaviors. It is important for coordination to anticipate others' behaviors and to adapt one's own body movement to others based on anticipation. We highlight previous studies on problem solving and learning in cognitive science which have investigated interaction processes from verbal protocols during task implementation and indicated the importance of understanding others' perspectives. Additionally, recent cognitive models of estimating others' intentions and anticipating others' behaviors during interactions using non-verbal information such as eye movement, posture, and gesture, have been investigated. Considering these previous studies, we focus on group behavior and propose to apply the new approach mentioned above to discuss a mechanism of more complex coordination. We also refer to some studies of biological group behaviors in biology, artificial life, and sports science, and demonstrate a potential issue that such papers did not focus on the cognition related to coordinative group behaviors. This paper illustrates an example of discussing interactions with others, to which the new approach is applied. Our previous study here analyzed children's group behavior during nursery activities using position data and linked these characteristics with the cognitive development of anticipating others' behaviors based on spontaneous sociality. However, it is difficult to investigate some details of group behavior due to the limitation of field measurement, for example, the accuracy of a child's anticipation and whether a child moved based upon anticipation. In future work, it is important to analyze controlled group behavior and to indicate accuracy of individuals' anticipation from movement data to solve these problems.

Forward genetics is a powerful approach based on chromosomal mapping of phenotypes and has successfully led to the discovery of many mouse mutations in genes responsible for various phenotypes. Although crossing between genetically remote strains can produce F2 and backcross mice for chromosomal mapping, the phenotypes are often affected by background effects from the partner strains in genetic crosses. Genetic crosses between substrains might be useful in genetic mapping to avoid genetic background effects. In this study, we investigated single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) available for genetic mapping using substrains of C57BL/6 and BALB/c mice. In C57BL/6 mice, 114 SNP markers were developed and assigned to locations on all chromosomes for full utilization for genetic mapping using genetic crosses between the C57BL/6J and C57BL/6N substrains. Moreover, genetic differences were identified in the 114 SNP markers among the seven C57BL/6 substrains from five production breeders. In addition, 106 SNPs were detected on all chromosomes of BALB/cAJcl and BALB/cByJJcl substrains. These SNPs could be used for genotyping in BALB/cJ, BALB/cAJcl, BALB/cAnNCrlCrlj, and BALB/cCrSlc mice, and they are particularly useful for genetic mapping using crosses between BALB/cByJJcl and other BALB/c substrains. The SNPs characterized in this study can be utilized for genetic mapping to identify the causative mutations of the phenotypes induced by N-ethyl-N-nitrosourea mutagenesis and the SNPs responsible for phenotypic differences between the substrains of C57BL/6 and BALB/c mice.

自然水域の底質とともに存在する鉄バクテリア集積物は,リン吸着能を持つ鉄化合物を多く含むので,リン資源の循環利用に重要な役割を果たすことができる.しかしながら自然水域の鉄バクテリア集積物は,容易に水流によって流されてしまうこと,また,嫌気性の泥を含む底質からの収集が困難である事などから,有効な利用が行われていない.本研究では,鉄バクテリア集積物を収集する担体を水中に浸漬させ,鉄バクテリア集積物をリン酸肥料またはリン吸着材として利用できる形態で効率的に収集する方法の開発を試みた.

小児では転倒などにより箸や歯ブラシなどの異物による口腔外傷が多く見られる。稀に異物が頚髄,頭蓋内などの深部に刺入するものの発見が遅れることや,異物が刺入しなくても気腫や深頸部感染症を生じること,時に遅発性の内頸動脈閉塞を合併することがある。したがって,小児口腔外傷は患者家族への十分な説明と厳重な経過観察が必要であり,注意を要する疾患である。口腔より箸が刺入し,頭頸部深部に達して異物として残存した小児2症例を経験した。1例は異物が上咽頭粘膜下,斜台前方の頭長筋内まで達して後咽頭間隙に蜂巣炎を併発しており,内視鏡を用いて経鼻的に異物を摘出した。もう1例は異物が頸動脈間隙に達して,周囲の間隙に気腫を生じており,外切開により異物を摘出した。両症例とも術後,遅発性の内頸動脈閉塞などの合併症は認められなかった。自験例と小児の口腔異物症例について,若干の文献的考察を加えて報告する。

We describe the cypridoidean ostracod Heterocypris spadix sp. nov. from brackish water on Okinawa Island, Japan. The species closely resembles Heterocypris salina (Brady, 1868) but differs in that (1) the marginal infolds on valves are less developed, (2) the tubercles on the anterior margin of the right valve are completely covered by the selvage and invisible in inner view, and (3) the calcified inner lamella on the ventral margin of the left and right valves is scarcely evident in inner view, as the ventral margins of the valves bend inwardly. We determined partial sequences for the cytochrome c oxidase subunit I (COI; cox1) and 18S rRNA genes in H. spadix for future DNA barcoding and phylogenetic analyses. Our sample contained only females. A breeding experiment revealed that H. spadix females reproduce parthenogenetically. Another experiment showed that H. spadix has low tolerance to desiccation, with all individuals at 25°C dying between 1–2 hours after removal from water. We amplified and sequenced a partial 16S rRNA sequence for the endosymbiotic bacterium Cardinium from H. spadix. Infection by Cardinium may be related to the parthenogenetic reproductive mode we observed in H. spadix.

[Abstract]Heart Sutra was translated Xuanzang the wisdom scriptures original form has been documented in the establishment and Sanskrit characters in the year 150 BC, "Great Perfection of Wisdom Sutra" summarizes further shortened what was summarized in about 600 volumes, many of the statement was only fitting the Sanskrit original language in Chinese characters. Further, the "Kan jizai bosatsu" at the beginning is that of Kannon Bodhisattva, is a bodhisattva that reach out of relief watching the voice of those who are in suffering.In this paper, is regarded as one musical piece of the Heart Sutra, causing the notation, I was approaching from the sound of this notation on the meaning of the Heart Sutra.
