The purpose of this paper is to examine how IBM entered into prewar Japan and ran its wholly-owned subsidiary thereafter. Before examining something noted above, this paper surveys the process of formation of IBM and then traces its early overseas activities. Turning to the initial contacts between Japan and IBM, at first IBM carried out its mere export trade to Japan through Morimura and then Kurosawa. IBM then established its wholly-owned subsidiary, Japan Watson,in Japan to expand the business. As IBM 405 series began to sell well also in Japan, IBM was convinced of Japan as a promising overseas market. IBM would think that Japan was of increasing importance. So IBM decided to set up its subsidiary in Japan beyond mere exporting. But as the Pacific War approached, the Japanese government restricted the activities of Japan Watson. At last the government designated Japan Watson an enemy company in 1942. Therefore Japan Watson was forced to halt its business activities in Japan. It was not until 1950 that IBM Japan, former Japan Watson reopened the activities in Japan.

This article is an analysis of the popular,`Gundam Seed',focusing on Apocalyptism.It is certain that these descriotions of the `end'of history Insinuate the contemporary setback of the idea of the ever progressing World.However such Apocalyptism is difficult in taking deep root in Japan,where human life has been imbued with Orientel pantheism and the erernally returning time.In this respect, `Gundam Seed'calls our serious attention,as it clearly shows the Japanese Escathology.

The yield of rice in Kyrgyz Republic is the least in Central Asia. However the rice produced at Uzugen in Kyrgyzstan, Uzugenn-rice is estimated high among people in Central Asia. If Uzugen-rice is not used to cook prov, a kind of rice dish, for guest, a host will be put to shame. The ploy cooked with Uzugen-rice is essential for festivals and a wedding reception too. In August 1997, I visited Uzugen and Fergana in Uzbekistan and looked at the rice cultivation there. This report gives the following contents. 1. The state of rice cultivation in Central Asia. 2. The estimation of Uzugen-rice in Central Asia. 3. The complaint of rice farmers in Kyrgyzstan. 4. The kinds of main rice dishes in Central Asia.

In late years, the children who are required the particular support became a big issue.We think that in its background, there is the increase of children needing medical care in a general school, and the most of them are needing the action of medical care, such as absorption of the phlegm, self withdrawing of urine and the tubal feeding, and these cause embarrassment of teacher whether or not it is possible for the action of the medical care.We think today, so it is going to be placed these medical actions as a new role of the Yogo teacher, teacher will be required the recognition for the medical action.However, now, these educations and trainings of medical care are not established for the students aiming for teacher and teachers yet.Therefore, In this study , through "the guide learning" as one of the way of educational method about the training of the medical care, we tried to grasp the evidence of the promotion of the student's learning will and needs for school nurse.We analyzed the obtained result, through the accomplishment degree of nursing training I, and clarified the effectiveness and problem of "the guide learning" in the medical care.

鈴鹿の庄野地区に伝承される食文化について調べた結果,次のようであった。1.「焼米俵」は丙辰紀行(林羅山著)によると宿場の土産として売られていたが,今では記録に残るのみとなった。2.「毬もち」は名物として,昭和の初期まで売られていたが,今は僅かの家庭でお盆に作るぐらいになった。3.「毬もち」を商品としている店舗(7店舗)を訪ねてみたが,地方により呼び名,作り方あんの種類,もちの大きさ(重量),もちの上面につける糯米の色等が,異なっていた。4.「地蔵盆の土用餅」は20年程前に一旦消滅したのを,年に1回くらいは村の住民が集い,親睦を高めようと復活している。5.「川浚えの鶏飯」は出合い仕事が終わり,夕食でその労をねぎらうために村の衆が一献するのである。しかし,昨今では人気がなくなってきているようである。以上,庄野地区の昔ながらの食習慣も現代の生活感覚にはあわなくなり,消えゆきつつあることを実感した。

I made a survey of Nasubi-matsuri" or "Eggplant Festival" of Kasuga Shrine in Nishiyama area, Iga by asking the local people about the festival. The results are asfollows;1) The food and the wine offered to the gods or the "Eggplant Festival" were consisted of raw food and "Jukusen". The former includes eggplants grown "in twins", rice,the other vegetables, fruit, salt and liquor, and the latter includes eggplants cooked in miso soup, "Kyo", and "Shitogi".2) All of the ingredients of raw food and "Jukusen". were collected and cooked by `the local people who are helped by the gods. '3) Those people gathered at the Shinto shrine to eat "eggplants in miso soup". "Kyo", and "Shitogi" as a feast."

1.サラダ油を用いて揚げ物を行なった結果,1回の揚げ過程によるPOVの増加は2~4であった。2.揚げ物に使用したサラダ油を調理室冷暗所に貯蔵したときのPOVの増加は容器や季節の影響をうけるが,1ケ月以内の貯蔵においては,いずれも20以下であった。3.揚げ物に2回使用したのち,1ケ月間貯蔵した油を用いて3回連続の揚げ試験を行なった結果,POVは15以下であったが,異臭を放つものがみられた。また,揚げ物を行なうことによって揚げ油のPOVが逆に減少するものもあった。

The purpose of this study is to consider the influence which the different age exchange in after-school care has on a lower grade child's physical strength. The subjects were 39 of the lower grade children of elementary school who belong to after-school care in Suzuka. Three times of physical strength and fitness test were performed to the subjects during the consultation period containing a summer vacation. The test of physical strength and fitness performed 20m dash, a dodge ball throw, and standing long jumps. Participant observation consisting mainly of play and different age exchange was carried out during the summer vacation. Moreover, All the subjects answered a questionnaire about play and different age exchange. As a result, it sets to participant observation, Play of 21 kind (an outdoor 6 kind, an indoor 16 kind) was observed, among those 26.6 % (outdoor 27.3 %, indoor 28.1 %) was a group of different age. About a test of physical strength and fitness, the difference significant after consultation period was not seen. Moreover, the significant difference was not seen by comparison between groups, either. By comparison of the number of the play in different age exchange, standing long jump record was significantly higher in the higher group than the lower group (p<0.05). In conclusion, it is thought that it is important for lower grade children of elementary school to experience and routinize various playing outside because of growth of mind and body. When clubs for after school activities for children are considered as a place of a life, I think that it is possible for it to concern itself with establishment of the right lifestyle, the production of a friend, and experience of various playing outside, and the possibility of being able to do in after-school care increases greatly.

Functional linguistics has been playing an important role for developing discourse analysis, pragmatics, and language acquisition. Therefore the point I wish to emphasize is that functional linguistics has also been furthering teaching methods for communication. This paper is intended as an investigation about the history of communicative language teaching based on functional linguistic theory, the relation between functional linguistics and communicative teaching, and English education which lays great emphasis on communication.

ジュニアテニス選手の食生活状況を把握するために調査を行い、次のような結果を得た。1)PFC エネルギー比率は、脂質のエネルギー比率が高かった。2)食品群別摂取頻度調査の結果、野菜、果物の摂取が充分でなかった。3)週5 回以上練習しているクラブジュニアは9 割が疲労を感じていた。4)好きな食べ物は焼肉やすしなどの主食、嫌いな食べ物は野菜が上位に挙げられた。5)野菜教育が最優先課題であることがわかった。

三重県安濃町萩野地区で祭礼の御馳走として作られる「コノシロの腐れずし」は,すしの古い形である「なまなれずし」である。今回その漬け込みを見学するとともに,「すし」に関連ある事項について聞き取り調査をした。「コノシロの腐れずし」は塩漬けしたコノシロを塩出しした後,冷ました白飯を水で洗ってからコノシロの腹に詰めて漬け込む。漬け込み期間は75日間で,出来上がった「すし」は骨や頭までやわらかになっている。前報の音羽の「コノシロずし」とは漬け方や食べ方が異なっていた。

ビタミンEは食品中に広く分布しているが,調理中に酸化をうけて含有量に変化が起こることが知られている。これらの変化に関する報告の大部分は食用油中のビタミンEについてであり,その他の食品中のビタミンEの変化についての報告は少ない。特に豆類は組織が堅いため加熱時間が長いので,ビタミンE量の変化は大きいと考えられる。大豆,黒大豆,小豆中のビタミンE含有量が加熱によってどのように変化するかを高速液体クロマトグラフィー法によって定量したところ,大豆では生の49%,黒大豆では15%,小豆は27%まで減少した。また大豆に食塩や重曹を添加して加熱した場合,あるいは黒大豆に鉄ミョウバンを添加した場合は,いずれも無添加にくらべて高い残存率を示し,これらの添加はビタミンB含有量の減少を抑制した。
