In this paper, we propose an intelligent security camera system for automated detection of snatching incident. Also, BSAM(Basic Snatching Action Model) is presented to give a definition of the snatching incident. The localization of moving objects in a video stream and human behavior estimation are key techniques for the proposed system. Some motion characteristics are determined from video streams, and using Support Vector Machine, the system automatically classifies the situation of the video streams into criminal or non-criminal scenes. After constructing the classifier, we use test sequences that are continuous video streams of human behavior consisting of several actions in succession. We consider four types of scenarios for the experiments of the snatching incident. The experimental results show that the system can effectively detect criminal scenes at 95.6% accuracy.

In order to comply with rapid changes of business environment, companies or organizations continuously modify contexts of their business process. Different data model will be built to support business process to be changed. In this paper, we introduce PCM (Property Centric Modeling) which facilitates data model design in accordance with business process. Context is often appeared in business process as function, persons, facilities, or materials. PCM associates each context with set of properties to build data model from those properties. Resulting data model is flexible enough for the change of context. Specific procedure of the method is illustrated, taking a sensorchip bonding process as example. Comparisons with other methodologies are also presented.

The effects of temperature and electrode materials on space charge distributions of Linear Low-Density Polyethylene (LLDPE) polymerized with Ziegler catalyst were measured with the pulsed electro-acoustic (PEA) method. The thickness of a sample was about 100 µm. Positive space charge was dominant and it changed from homo to hetero space charge with temperature. The mobility of positive charge was 8.1×10-15 m2V-1s-1 at 23°C and 1.0×10-14 m2V-1s-1 at 30°C. On the other hand, the mobility of negative charge was 3.7×10-15 m2V-1s-1 at 30°C. The positive space charge accumulating near the cathode enhanced the electron injection and, as a result, the charging current. The electrode materials used were aluminum and semi-conductive polymer. The space charge distribution and the charge injection depended on electrode conditions.

In EMTP, it is very hard to simulate a vertically arranged cable, since its surge impedance gradually changes with the distance from the ground to a top point. In the past, some researches about surge impedances and responses of vertical conductor (for example transmission tower, concrete pole and so on.) have been carried out, these researches are being continued now. However, there is no model of vertical co-axial cable in EMTP. In order to analyze surge voltage arisen on the electrical system, approach of method for treating this model in EMTP is required. In this paper, experiments of surge impedance and response on vertical cable, method of treating for vertical co-axial cable in EMTP and accuracy confirmed as compared result of this model with analysis result of VSTL Rev. (Virtual Surge Test Lab. rev. ) which is constructed under FDTD (Finite Difference Time Domain) method, are reported.

In this paper, a questionnaire survey for idealistic “literacy” and “contents” in technology education was conducted with 177 students, who belong to an institute of technology. Based on questionnaire contents carried out in the Japan Society of Technology Education (JSTE) from 2009, pre-service engineers' perceptions were analyzed by using statistical analysis. The questionnaire result for “literacy” in technology education suggested that it leads to bringing up an engineer to let a student recognize usefulness of the technical work and occupation. Furthermore, the questionnaire result for “contents” in technology education revealed that the student does not feel importance of the learning about “C Technology of Nurturing Living Things” than others.

The objective of this study is to objectively evaluate the subjective complexity by change in oxygenated hemoglobin and hemodynamics for the developing the relief method of stress based on improving preference by subjective complexity. The change in oxygenated hemoglobin concentration (ΔoxyHb) and hemodynamic parameters as physiological indices and psychological intensity as psychological indices were measured when performing the four auditory stimuli repeatedly. As a result, comfort and subjective complexity indicated the inverted “U” shape function. The tendency of the correlation between ΔoxyHb and subjective complexity was categorized into three main types. Significant differences of stress coping were found by hemodynamics. It was clarified that physiological responses to subjective complexity were assessable objectively.

This paper describes the advance of the ground relay of the line protection.First of all, we examined the ground fault in a resistively grounded power system. The protective relay detects the ground fault by the zero phase current in the system. There are two methods for the current input to the relay. One uses the residual circuit of CT secondary winding, and the other uses the CT tertiary winding. When the ground current is insufficient in the residual circuit, the CT tertiary winding is used. In order to omit the CT tertiary winding and to get more reliability, we reviewed the full-scale of relay and evaluating the error of CT. As result, almost all transmission lines could omit the CT tertiary winding.Next, we examined the ground fault with high fault resistance in a solidly grounded power system. When that fault occurs in the system, the PCM current differential relay acts by fault current. So, this relay possibly mal-operates when the CT secondary circuit is disconnected. Therefore, it uses a special CT to raise the reliability. Nowadays GIS has become small and the CT installation space has been decreased, it is needed to reduce these CT cores. In order to omit the special CT, we utilized the combination of the power relay and the rate of change of relay current. As a result, there is a prospect that the relay would not need the special CT.These improvements are effective to reduce cost too.

In this study, we propose an agent model based on SECI model by Nonaka for simulating knowledge propagation in organizations. In this model, complexity of knowledge is expressed as bit-tag, and worker-agent and knowledge manager agent are introduced. Some parametric studies is performed for bit-tag length, internalization rates and communication pattern of worker-agent, and evaluate acquirement of knowledge to verify the present simulation model. Furthermore, scenario simulation is implemented with respect to employment periods of worker-agent and the effectiveness of multi-agent model is shown from qualitative evaluation of knowledge variation corresponding to joining and leaving organization.

This paper proposes a concept of the adaptive asynchronous human machine system (Async-HMS) which maintains asynchronous periodic operations against user's actions for avoiding user intention. In order to find the dynamics of the operation period presented by Async-HMS, discrimination thresholds of the operation period were obtained by psychophysical experiment. According to the thresholds, three levels of fluctuation of the operation period were defined as ‘constant’, ‘unrecognizable’, and ‘recognizable’. Psychophysiological measurement was conducted on the performance of the synchronized key typing task by the three levels of the operation period. A synchronization error as performance index, the hemodynamic parameters as indices of autonomic nervous system's activity, and the amount of the senses as psychological indices were evaluated. As a result, monotonous feeling was eliminated without compromising the performance in case of `unrecognizable' fluctuations in the operation period presented by Async-HMS.

We have developed a multimedia information system for railroad passengers, that can retrieve graphics and full-color images as well as alphanumeric data. This system consists of a host computer, user terminals, and workstations for creating and editing information pages. These components are linked through a high-speed Ethernet LAN. The user terminals requires high-speed response, so JPEG compression is used in full-color images to reduce the time required to transmit images from the host computer.In September 1993, experimental user terminals were set up in Kintetsu Namba Station, Uehonmachi Station and Abenobashi Station. The tourist information on the Shima Spain Village and Ise-Shima National Park provided by these user terminals has been highly evaluated by users.

An efficient algorithm for calculating Selective Correlation Coefficient (SCC) is proposed, which is expected as stable and robust for ill-conditions in imaging: illumination change, noise, and occlusion. The SCC is calculated through a masking operation based on Increment Sign Correlation which is efficient and robust for the ill- conditions. An SSDA algorithm and initial thresholding are introduced to remove redundant computation for obtaining much more efficiency. Through many experiments with real images, from twice to 150 times efficiency in comparison with CC and the original SCC could be obtained for ill-conditioned search problems.

It is desired to develop soft-switching power factor improvement technology and put it into practical use by means of a high-efficiency, low-noise, and low-cost resonant-type converter. Every technology that has been developed and reported so far has many disadvantages as well as advantages, and there are many problems to be solved before they can be put into practical use. In this paper, I am going to explain the structure of the partially capacitor input rectifier circuit that employs soft-switching operation that has been developed a new as the power-feedback-system one-converter circuit. These technologies have enabled us to put the power factor improvement for consumer-use electronic products into practical use.
