ロボットが全身行動を生成する場合には, 外界との接触条件を考え, 複数の拘束条件を考慮した上でパスプランニングを行わねばならない。今回, RRT-Connect Plannerとピンドラッグ方式によるロボットの動作生成法を組み合わせて, その全身行動をプランニングする方法を開発した。そこで, 小型ヒューマノイドロボットの階段昇段動作を例に挙げて, その実装について述べる。

The three dimensional grain mapping technique for polycrystalline material, called X-ray diffraction contrast tomography (DCT), was conducted in SPring-8 (Super Photon ring-8 GeV), which is the brightest synchrotron radiation facility in Japan, and the conditions of measurement and data processing procedure have been obtained. Developed technique was applied to a commercially pure iron, and an austenitic stainless steel. The shape and location of grain could be determined by DCT using the apparatus in a beam line of SPring-8. Total misorientation of an individual crystalographic plane of a specific grain during fatigue test of the steels were measured. In fatigue test of the stainless steel, thetotal misorientastion of {111} planes increased with number of cyccles. Among {111} planes, the amount of change depended on Schmid factor, i.e., the change was higher for planes with larger Schmid factor. For the commercially pure iron, the total misorientastion of {110} planes increased with number of cyccles. The amount of change, however, did not depend on Schmid factor because of pencile-glide. 本論文は,ペナルティ関数法を用いた動的接触問題の有限要素法定式化を示したものである.本法の特徴は,体積および質量のない特殊要素を接触面に挿入することにより,接触条件を全体運動方程式に導入する点にあり,方程式の変形や自由度の増加がないようにという利点を有する.最後に,角棒の立て衝突問題の数値解析を行い,本法の妥当性を検証した.

Tribological coatings such as Cr-N, TiBN, Me-DLC(Me-C:H) were coated by Plasma Booster Sputtering(PBS) process using conventional balanced DC magnetron sputtering cathode in combination with additional DC plasma discharge between cathode and booster electrode. Seizure load and dynamic friction coefficient between coated steel substrate and steel(SCM415) was measured by pin and V-block type Faville tester. Also nano-hardness and Young's modulus was measured by nano-indenter using Berkovich diamond indenter.

Fracture tests of unsaturated polyester resin on large, single-edge notched-bend specimens were conducted under static and dynamic bend tests at room temperature. The velocity of a loading point in the three-point bending was changed from 8.3&times;10<SUP>-6</SUP>mm/s to 7&times;10<SUP>5</SUP> times its value. The two types of fracture marks of the both-ends-closed mark (like ellipses) and the one-end-opened mark (like parabolas) were observed and they were expressed by the equation of fracture marks. A rocket mark, defined here, was also often observed in the dynamic bending test and was well-approximated by the equation. The experimental number, percentage, relative interference appearing distance and the calculated relative critical distance of the marks changed with the crack propagation distance and the testing speed. The velocity of a primary crack propagation was measured and approximated by a mixed-condition relation proposed by us. This change and the gammer-letter relation between the velocity and a dynamic stress intensity factor K<SUB>D</SUB> (or a dynamic strain energy release rate, S<SUB>D</SUB>) gives the latter (K<SUB>D</SUB> or S<SUB>D</SUB>) as a function of the crack propagation distance. This provides a good theoretical explanation of the above variations of fracture marks.

This paper verifies the response surfaces of artificial neural networks (NN) learned by using a method based on Bayesian inference. Mackay showed that the Bayesian method due to Gull and Skilling can be applied to regularization for NN. However, generalization ability has not been verified sufficiently for the NN response surface regularized by using the Bayesian method. If the NN response surface has good generalization ability, it can be used in the optimization process of response surface methodology (RSM) NN therefore was learned by using the Bayesian method to investigate generalization ability. We tried three rules for updating the regularizing constants in an objective function minimized during NN learning. All of the update rules were derived from the Bayesian method. As a result, the response surface of NN had good generalization ability, with the exception of one update rule. The poor update rule failed to determine the regularizing constants. This tendency for the update rules was recognized regardless of response surface geometry. After we selected a superior update rule, the NN response surface by using the Bayesian method was applied to an optimization problem. The response surface didn't fit noises included in teacher data, and consequently, it was effectively used to reach a solution. Finally, we concluded that the NN learned by using the Bayesian method can be used as the response surface in the process of RSM.

One of the authors invented a unique SiC whisker wheel in which the whiskers were aligned normally to the grinding wheel surface. In this paper, grindabilities of the SiC whisker wheel are investigated and compared with those of other wheels of SiC grains, Al<SUB>2</SUB>O<SUB>3</SUB> grains, as well as Al<SUB>2</SUB>O<SUB>3</SUB> long and short fibers which were also aligned normally to the grinding wheel surface, respectively. The main research contents grinding characteristics of a directionally aligned SiC whisker wheel such as material-removal rates, wheel-wear rates, integrity of the ground surfaces, grinding ratios and grinding efficiency. Furthermore, grinding wheels of whiskers and fibers have a common disadvantage : they tend to load easily. The authors introduced a simple method of loading-free grinding to overcome this propensity and investigate some related grinding characteristics under loading-free grinding conditions.

A woodpecker strikes its beak toward a tree repeatedly. But, the damage of brain or the brain concussion doesn't occur by this action. Human cannot strike strongly the head without the damage of a brain. Therefore, It is predicted that the brain of a woodpecker is protected from the shock by some methods and that the woodpecker has the original mechanism to absorb a shock. In this study, the endoskeltal structure, especially head part structure of woodpecker is dissected and the impact-proof system is analyzed by FEM and model experiment. From the results, it is obvious that the woodpecker has the original impact-proof system as the unique states of hyoid bone, skull, tissue and brain. Moreover it is considered that woodpecker has the advanced impact-proof system relating with not only the head part but also with the whole body.

The authors developed a new testing equipment for studying statically indeterminate fracture mechanics. Its development purpose is to clarify load history-dependency of the collapse load. The equipment has two actuators orthogonalized. The horizontal actuator applies the axial force and the perpendicular one does the bending moment. In the experiment for examining the effect of load hysteresis on the collapse load, both actuators can keep the preceding load to the constant load value, until axial force and bending load reach the theory collapse point. The actuators can apply the following load under the displacement control in the experiment. The performance of the equipment was confirmed by demonstration tests using single-edge notched specimens of SUS 304 steel. The experimental result clarified load historydependency on collapse load in SUS 304 single-edge notched member subjected to combined tension and bending.

柔軟な脊椎を持つ全身腱駆動ヒューマノイド腱太は, 96モータと88張力センサ・8姿勢センサ・62アナログ触覚センサなどを持つ多入力・多出力システムである。遠隔のホスト上の上位レベルソフトウェアからこの多入出力システムを扱うための情報通信システムの構成法が課題である。本稿では, この問題を解決するための, 分散プロセッサ, マルチCPU高速組み込みバス, 組み込み用リアルタイムOS, マルチシリアルカード, マルチCPUマシンによるマルチスレッド通信などを用いた, 腱太の通信システムの構築に関し述べる。

Japanese tourism industry is less competitive compared with other countries worldwide. One of the problems Japanese tourism companies have is that they do not have an efficient way to design package tours. This paper proposes a computer aided designing method of package tours that meets various tourists' favors while controlling cost. Tour service is modeled as network that comprises activity, place, capability and enabler. In this model, a tour is described as a flow of activities, which is linked with place, capability and enabler to attach the detailed information. There are three steps to design a tour lineup. First, the network is redesigned by adding improvement if necessary. Second, all possible sequences of activities (tour candidates) are extracted from the network, which are then combined as a lineup. Finally, after feasibility of the lineup is checked, it is evaluated from the viewpoints of tourists and providers. The proposed method has been verified by using developed prototype system through the case of Tokyo day tours.

The Pressurized Fluidized Bed Combustion (PFBC) system, using coal which is the most stable fossil fuel energy, enables higher efficient power generation. Hokkaido Electric Power Company, Inc (HEPCO) adopted the system to its Tomatoh-Atsuma Unit No.3,for the first commercial plant in Japan, and this unit started commercial operation on March 8^<th> 1998. The paper presents the out line of the system and systematic flow, and adjusts future technological problem experienced since starting operation.

The sensitivity of a fishing rod is related to transmitting behavior to an angler when the a fish to rise to the bait and the motions of the lure. In this study, the sensitivity of a fishing rod is clarified. The transfer function and the behavior of a fishing rod were measured in the rockfish fishing. Based on the experimental results, the sensitivity of a fishing rod was discussed and it seems reasonable to conclude: (1) When the fish to rise to the bait, two kinds of the behavior of fishing rods are observed. (2) The vibration characteristics are different in the structures of the tip of a fishing rod. (3) The sensitivity of a fishing rod is evaluated from the damping ratio and the transfer function.
