University students experience many stressful events throughout their school lives, such that primary prevention of depression has become increasingly important. The purpose of this study was to investigate the effectiveness of an existing psycho-educational program that was improved and then applied in a university psychology class of undergraduates. The program was refined based on past research results (e.g., Oikawa & Sakamoto, 2007ab, 2008), teaching materials and methods in order to enhance undergraduates' comprehension and interest in the program. The experimental group participated in the program, which was based on cognitive behavior therapy and consisted of lectures on knowledge and skills needed to cope with negative moods and thoughts, group work (discussion and role playing), and homework. In each session, the experimental group participants rated their degree of comprehension, and completed questionnaires before and after the program. The control group participated only in the questionnaires. The experimental group's ratings and responses indicated that they understood the program well and were interested in the program. The results suggested that the program was effective in improving participants' self-efficacy for coping with depression. Based on the results, the role of such a prevention program conducted in higher education was discussed.

本稿は、新出の史料である「従軍日誌」一編を使用して、「日清戦争」を従軍者がどのように描いているか、を追究した『歴史学部論集』創刊号以来掲載してきた論考の続きである。何度も繰り返すが、「従軍日誌」の著者は、混成第九旅団野戦砲兵第五聯隊第三大隊第五中隊に属する将校であり、一八九四年六月六日から翌年二月一四日まで日記を書き続けた。戦争が終わって後の清書や、整然と整理された刊行物ではなく、戦場という現場で書いていた日記と推測される。しかもこの執筆者は、日本の大本営が、日清戦争開戦前に、「居留民保護」を名目に朝鮮に派兵した混成第九旅団のうち、最初に派遣された部隊の一員であったという特色がある。参謀本部が編纂し、刊行した『日清戦史』全八巻には、中塚明氏や一ノ瀬俊也氏などにより遺漏や改ざんの跡がいくつか指摘されており、そのことも、「従軍日誌」という軍人自身の記述により再検討することができる。『歴史学部論集』創刊号に六月六日から七月二六日まで、同第2号に七月二七日から九月一四日(平壌総攻撃前日)まで、第3号に九月一五日(平壌総攻撃日)から一〇月二三日まで掲載した。本号は、鴨緑江渡河戦にむかう一〇月二四日から、鴨緑江渡河戦、九連城攻略戦を経て、冬期の鳳凰城守備戦になる。以後は次号となる。

A numerical analysis of electromagnetic waves around the atmospheric reentry demonstrator (ARD) of the European Space Agency (ESA) in an atmospheric reentry mission was conducted. During the ARD mission, which involves a 70% scaled-down configuration capsule of the Apollo command module, radio frequency blackout and strong plasma attenuation of radio waves in communications with data relay satellites and air planes were observed. The electromagnetic interference was caused by highly dense plasma derived from a strong shock wave generated in front of the capsule because of orbital speed during reentry. In this study, the physical properties of the plasma flow in the shock layer and wake region of the ESA ARD were obtained using a computational fluid dynamics technique. Then, electromagnetic waves were expressed using a frequency-dependent finite-difference time-domain method using the plasma properties. The analysis model was validated based on experimental flight data. A comparison of the measured and predicted results showed good agreement. The distribution of charged particles around the ESA ARD and the complicated behavior of electromagnetic waves, with attenuation and reflection, are clarified in detail. It is suggested that the analysis model could be an effective tool for investigating radio frequency blackout and plasma attenuation in radio wave communication.
