This study attempts to investigate the correlation of length with appropriateness in terms of refusals to an invitation. The data was collected from 116 Japanese native speakers who participated in a survey. The survey consisted of two variables: 1) length (long/short) and 2) appropriateness (appropriate/inappropriate). The analysis of the survey results verified the general hypothesis that, "Longer expressions are politer than shorter expressions with regard to refusals under the condition that the expression is appropriate." The results of the present study show an important implication for learners of the Japanese language. The Japanese language is considered HC communication (High Context). This means that the context of communication is important in socio-cultural discourses regarding Japanese language use. If these socio-cultural expressions of communication are not followed, communication is considered incomplete (Hall 1976). This suggests that learners also need to be able to estimate the appropriate level of politeness in a close relationship and to use acceptable expressions when speaking with Japanese native speakers.

本稿は,バウハウス教師であったヨハネス・イッテンの造形教育において実践されていた「昔の巨匠絵画の分析」の理念及び方法論を確認するとともに,その今日的な展開の可能性を試みる実践研究である。この研究の前提には,筆者の継続するバウハウス研究の課題としてのバウハウス認識の見直し,また,イッテン研究の課題としての彼の造形活動や教育実践の明確化,そして,美術教育研究の課題として昨今注目されてきた鑑賞教育のあり方に対するオルターナティブの提示という目的が重ねられている。イッテン教育の方法論が今日にまで射程を延ばしていることの例証のため,ここでは画像処理による絵画イメージの変容を試行して,絵画の認識を深める実践を行った。

小さなステップの積層によって学習すると高速かつ高精度で学習できるという人工知能の考え方を、講義で活用しようと考えた。発想法の一種、イメージを多用し、キーワードとつなぐ形態のマインドマップや思考展開図にマインドマップをインストールしたパノラマによって実施した事例とアンケート結果、およびその課題について報告する。

近年の情報技術の発展に伴い、マンガ作品の情報の共有・交換が盛んに行われるようになった。筆者らの研究室では、マンガに関する情報を統合的に扱うためのマンガメタデータスキーマを開発している。その一部に、読者が作品の内容を書き表すためのメタデータスキーマがある。本稿はマンガの知的内容を表すことを目的としているため、同心ストーリーの表現手法である小説や映画も参考にする。そこで、 Wikipedia 内に表れるマンガ麹小説の作品記事から 100 件をそれぞれ無作為に抽出し、記述項目について調査した。これらの調査結果および目次テンプレートを参考に、読者が作品の知的内容を書き表すためのメタデータ基本セットを提案する。Mangas, which are popular and important resource in our modern culture, are published not only in traditional printed media but also for PCs and mobile devices over networks. Metadata has crucial roles to enhance functionality to access to mangas in the networked information environment in various aspects. The goal of this paper is to discuss metadata elements required for describing intellectual content of mangas as graphic novels. In this paper, we analyzed mangas and novels in order to define the metadata elements to describe their intellectual confcetns as a story work. Then we defined several metadata elements and their refinements to express the common properties of the intellectual content. In this paper we propose a set of descriptive metadata elements for intellectual content of mangas based on the analysis and description templates of Wikipedia.

This paper discusses the account of the fall of the Cao Wei 曹魏 imperial family (帝室) in the Weizhi 『魏志』 compiled by Chen Shou 陳寿 as a reflection of his political consciousness towards the Xi Jin 西晋 imperial family during the early part of the Taikang 太康 era of the reign of the Emperor Wu 武.At the time the Weizhi was compiled, it was a period of transition from a government of the imperial in-laws (外戚) under the Han 漢 dynasty to a government (輔政) of imperial clans (宗室) during the times after the Wei-Jin 魏晋. This tendency is reflected in Weizhi, as Chen Shou points out the origins of the fall of the Cao Wei imperial family as follows:1. The struggle over succession between Cao Pi 曹丕 (he was to found the Cao Wei dynasty and reign as Wendi 文帝) and his brother Cao Zhi曹植. 2. Cao Pi's later restraint towards the kin princes (至親諸王, his brothers).3.The government of imperial in-laws, and the installation of the empress from concubines.However, through a detailed examination of the descriptions in the Weizhi, we find emphasis put on the origin of the fall of the Cao Wei imperial family. In fact, it is a falsification of historical fact by Chen Shou. The author believes that Chen Shou's purpose was to emphasize the following lessons to be learned from the fall of the Cao Wei imperial family:I. Restraint towards the government of the kin princes.II. The exclusion of imperial in-laws from politics.III. A refutation of the installation of empresses from concubines who cause trouble for the order of Seraglios.Why Chen Shou dared to write such a description is because it was a mirror of the political situation during the early part of the Taikang era.① Excluding Wudi's brother Qiwang-You 斉王攸, who once struggled with Wudi over succession, from politics.② The rise of the Ynag Family (楊氏) of imperial in-laws, who planned to expel Qiwang-You from the central government.③ The problem of the Hu-guipin 胡貴嬪, an honored concubine, who had gained the favor of Wudi, exerted great influence on the succession.|
