Moisture absorption affects mechanical properties of CFRP, thus monitoring of moisture absorption ration in CFRP is useful to assess the structural integrity. Besides, health monitoring of CFRP by using an electrical resistance change method has been investigated recently. In order to apply the electrical resistance change method to composite components in service, it is important to understand the effect of moisture absorption on the electrical resistance change. We have reported that the electrical impedance of CFRP increases not only in the transverse direction but also in the fiber. In order to investigate the effect of deformation constraint on the electrical impedance increase in the fiber direction, the electrical impedance changes of constrained and unconstrained CFRP specimens are measured at constant temperature and humidity. The results show that the electrical impedance change of the constrained specimen is much smaller than that of the unconstrained. The experimental results indicate that swelling in the transverse direction affects the electrical impedance in the fiber direction. The mechanism of electrical impedance change is discussed by using finite element analysis. The analytical results show that discrete contacts between carbon fibers and electrodes cause the electrical impedance change.

In the field of Mixed Reality, one area of Virtual Reality, the method of merging virtual and real spaces have been often discussed. A chromakey-imposer is often used to synthesize CG and real images, but the relation between CG and real images is either in front or behind because a general chromakey-imposer has only one chromakey plane. To make one advance in the former method of merging we propose a method to make a visual effect as if a real space is embedded in a virtual space by dividing an object space into three layers and using two chromakey planes. We tested the visual effect by treating the object space as a studio space which has a large area and a desk space which has a small area.

This study describes academic outlooks and their historical transition in Kanagawa Prefecture public high school entrance exam through analysis of achievement tests using the course of study and text format (continuous texts and non-continuous texts) and the following five processes: (retrieving information, formulating a broad general understanding, developing an interpretation, reflecting on and evaluating the content of a text, and reflecting on and evaluating the form of a text) in Reading Literacy of OECD/PISA. The research objects of this analysis are the achievement tests which were used for the Kanagawa Prefecture public high school entrance exam from 1957 through 2009. The following points were clarified through the result of this analysis: 1. Although the course of study should influence achievement tests directly, it has little influence on these tests. 2. Questions on reflecting on and evaluating and non-continuous text began to be used in recent years (after 2008). However, this represents a qualitative change rather than a change of form. 3. There have been notable changes after 1984 in particular, and almost the same questions are used. The opportunity represented by this change correlates to the opportunity of the qualitative change of an education-conscious society, which is clarified by the research of the sociology of education.

近年の疫学研究により, 糖尿病はアルツハイマー病 (AD) 発症の危険因子として注目されている. さらに, 画像解析技術の進歩により頭部MRIを用いて脳の容積を部位別に定量的に計測することが可能となり, 糖尿病と脳の形態学的変化との関連を検討した疫学研究の報告が散見されるようになった. 福岡県久山町の疫学調査 (久山町研究) の過去約30年の成績によると, 認知症, 特にADの有病率は人口の高齢化を超えて急増し, また糖尿病など糖代謝異常の有病率も上昇している. 久山町研究ではこれまでに糖尿病がAD発症や剖検脳における老人斑形成と関係することを報告した. また, 2012年に65歳以上の久山町住民を対象に実施した頭部MRIデータを用いた脳画像研究では, 糖尿病者, 特に糖負荷後2時間血糖値が高い者は, 正常耐糖能者に比べ海馬容積が有意に小さいことを明らかにした. さらに, 糖尿病の罹病期間が長く診断時期が早期であるほど, 海馬萎縮がより顕著であった.
