This article, I discussed the historical background of "Three Years Hill," which is a famous Korean folk tale in Japan and is included in Japanese textbooks to this day. It first appeared in Korean textbooks in 1934 when Korea was under Japanese occupation. It has been suggested that it might be an imported version of a similar story from Japan. Thus, this study re-examined its historical background by using a structural analysis of its motifs. It was found that although "Three Years Hill" has appeared in various media as well as textbooks, and it exists in a variety of stories in both countries, its origin is in the Japanese occupation's Korean textbook, which was influenced by Japan.

This paper describes the effects of a writing center in a high school through studying its operation at International Christian University High School from May 2010 to March 2013. Students utilized one-to-one sessions with tutors by receiving dialogue-based feedback to improve on their writing assignments for different subjects. The sessions covered prewriting to writing the final draft. Overall, the number of users increased over the three years and a high level of satisfaction was achieved. According to questionnaires, student users learned or became aware of what they wanted to write, how to write, and how the audience would respond to their writing. At the same time, they were happy to be treated as independent writers. In addition, the tutors themselves felt that they also became better writers, communicators, and educators through the sessions. The faculty members also felt the significance of having the writing center as a place where the students could discuss their writings with someone. Given these results, we conclude that launching and operating a writing center in high schools is significant.

Recently, the media environment has transformed considerably; instead of "mass media," formation of public opinion is now influenced by "social media." Thus, we must consider instituting new media literacy education to correspond with the new media environment. From our perspective, the most important feature of any media literacy education should be its ethical aspects. First, we considered how ethical aspects are positioned in the discussion of media literacy and found the term "practical moral knowledge" to be worth our attention. Next, to apply practical moral knowledge to new media literacy, we investigated Our Space, finding it necessary to focus on the ethical strategies we use in our everyday lives-both online and offline. From the results, we concluded that introducing new media literacy is important for shifting the existing paradigm within Japanese language education.

本研究では、自己調整学習者の発達を支援する方法について、特に学習観の形成を支援する視点から検討を行った。その際、事例として漢字学習を取り上げた。漢字学習観は、漢字学習方略・漢字学習動機・漢字観によって構成される。特に漢字学習方略は学習者の漢字学習に直接的に関係する。しかし、学習者は漢字学習に際して適切な漢字学習方略を選択するとは限らない。このことから、漢字学習観の形成を支援するためには、漢字学習方略を含む漢字学習観をメタ認知させることが重要ではないかと考えられた。そこで、漢字学習方略をパターンランゲージというメディアを用いて記述し、それを用いたワークを実施した。その結果、ワークの中で漢字学習方略と漢字学習動機・漢字観のメタ認知が行われることが確認できた。

文学・語学領域の文化遺産を価値の体系として系統的に指導する教室から、学習者ひとりひとりの言語学習を能力や行為の発生・展開過程として実現していく教室へと転換する。その場合、学習者の学びの焦点を「知識・技能としての学力」にあわせるのではなく「意欲・態度の実現による充足感」にあわせる。その方法として、テクスト概念や談話(ディスコース)概念を導入することでこれまでの作品中心主義の教室を解体して、学習者の「テクスト表現過程」が中心化され意義づけられる学習を追究する。
