Developing effective behavioral and psychological mechanisms for coping with social stress was very important in human evolution because humans evolved as social beings. The aggressive and post-aggressive behavior of 30 boys aged 7–11 years was observed during free play in summer camp with the standard “post-conflict—matched control” method (de Waal and Yoshihara, 1983). The focals were the victims of the conflict. Saliva samples for examination of cortisol and dehydroepiandrosterone sulfate levels were taken from each boy in 5 cases: 10 minutes after a conflict with and without reconciliation, matched-control samples next day and morning samples for the basal level. Every boy filled in a sociometry form, Buss-Durkee Hostility Inventory, Eysenk Personality test and the Revised Children's form for the Manifest Anxiety Scale. The stress-reduction role of peacemaking was supported on the physiological level. The level of stress-related hormones was higher when no reunion occurred.

HAYASE Choubei Yoshimasa who was actively engaged in the cavings is an unknown carver in Edo era. And he was studied by nobody until today. So we researched his products of the temples & shrines in the Tohkai districts. And the contents are as follows: 1. Yamanaka Hachiman shrine, 2. Okkawa Jinzya shrine, 3. Issiki Suwa Jinzya shrine, 4. Nagoya Higashi-Honganji temple.

Gastroesophageal Reflux (GERD) and Laryngopharyngeal Reflux (LPRD) may be associated with night time reflux, snoring and sleep apnea; however, uncertainty remains whether reflux episodes are related to apneic episodes. The argument that the coincidental correlation of the severity of reflux-induced symptoms with the severity of obstructive sleep apnea is evidence against precipitation of apneic episodes by reflux episodes is unconvincing. While CPAP treatment improves the symptoms of GERD and LPRD, and treating GERD improves sleep disturbance, it is uncertain whether these treatments improve sleep apnea. It is necessary to consider additional treatments of GERD such as Proton Pump Inhibitors (PPI).

漢方薬の補中益気湯が有効であったいびき、嗄声および嚥下困難の3症例を報告した。症例1は75歳の男性。1年前より続く榎声と声の出しにくさがある。発声時に紡錘状の声門間隙ができる。軽度の気息性嗄声でG1R0B1A0S0、MPTは15秒であった。いわゆる老人性嗄声と診断した。補中益気湯の投与により、1カ月後には嗄声は改善、MPTは25秒に延長。発声時声門間隙もほとんど目立たなくなった。症例2は48歳の女性。主訴はいびきで、睡眠時無呼吸はない。鼻閉なく、上気道の器質的狭窄部位もないことから、睡眠時の軟口蓋や舌の筋緊張低下によるいびきと考えられた。補中益気湯の1週間の投与により、投与前10のいびきの強さが、1.5に小さくなった。症例3は71歳の女性。睡眠時無呼吸を伴わないいびきがあり、手足がだるく食後に眠くなりやすい。また、3カ月前より飲食物がのどにひっかかることがあり、むせやすい。筋緊張低下によるいびきと診断し、これに対して補中益気湯を投与したところ、いびきは半分以下となっただけでなく、嚥下困難および手足のだるさと食後の眠気も改善した。嚥下困難は加齢によるものと思われた。補中益気湯には筋緊張と運動を高める作用があるといわれており、これらの症例では、軟口蓋、舌、咽頭、喉頭などの筋肉の緊張や運動性が高まり、症状の改善がみられたと考えられる。

本研究では,人格特性と認知との関連を検討するため,大学生169名を対象に,個人の感情特性と図版刺激における感情情報の解釈との関連について調べた。感情特性の指標として,5つの個別感情(喜び,興味,悲しみ,怒り,恐れ)の日常の経験頻度を尋ねた。また,感情解釈の実験を行う直前に,被験者の感情状態を測定した。感情解釈の課題としては,被験者に,人物の描かれた曖昧な図版を複数枚呈示し,各図版について,状況の解釈を求めた上で登場人物の感情状態を評定するよう求めた。両者の関連を調べたところ,喜びを除く全ての感情特性と,それぞれに対応した感情の解釈との間に,正の相関が認められた。すなわち,被験者は,自分が日頃多く経験する感情を図版の中にも読みとっていた。また,特定の感情(悲しみと怒り,恐れと悲しみ,恐れと怒り)については,感情特性と感情解釈との間に相互に関連が認められた。感情特性と感情解釈の相関は,感情状態の影響を取り除いてもなお認められたことより,感情特性は,感情状態とは独立に個別の感情に関する認知と関連を持っていることが示唆された。
