In recent years, "Regional Collaboration" has been keyword in Museum Management Theory Studies in Japan. It is suggested that the important factor to build a win-win relationship between the community and museum is to reach out to wider(range) variety of stakeholders of the museum. In particular, it is expected that museum will take a new social role in making a major influence in the "economical impact" toward the region.This paper clarifies that institutional aspects have given significant impact in the historical transition of Museum Management Theory, and the economical impact from the viewpoint of Cultural Economics Studies is attracting many attentions.

近年,拡張現実感(AR)を用いて,演奏や作曲などの音楽表現活動を支援することが行なわれてい る.AR を媒介させることが,楽器や五線紙を用いた演奏・作曲活動にはないどのような意味を音楽表現 活動に与えるのかを総括的に知ることは,AR が本質的に人間に与える意味を考える上でも重要である. 本稿では過去の AR 音楽システムの事例を取り上げ,AR が音楽表現活動に与える意味について考察する.

近年、マルチメディアアプリケーション向けの拡張命令をサポートした汎用プロセッサが入手できるようになってきた.PCMオーディオをmp3にする処理は遅いと感じていたし,速いエンコーダが切望されていた.そこでAMDの3D Now!やIntelのSSEという拡張命令に着目し,それらの命令をエンコーダの高速化のために使用した.「午後のこ?だ」は,「LAME」を高速化したmp3エンコーダで,そのような命令を使うようにアセンブリ言語で書き換えたものである.さらに440BXチップセットによるIntel SMPにも着目し,マルチスレッド実行による速いmp3エンコーディングも実装してみた.本稿では「午後のこ?だ」に実装した高速化手法や速度向上について述べる.

Maternal and child mortality remains high in developing countries. While timely antenatal care and delivery at formal facility are recommended, many mothers do not use them. This paper investigates whether newly established health facilities affect maternal health care utilization as well as the health of mothers and children. In order to deal with possibly endogenous facility placement, we apply the community-level and mother-level fixed effects models to the new, decade-long panel data from rural Uganda. Results demonstrate differential roles played by large facilities and small clinics. Openings of large facilities increase the probability of delivery at formal facility, attended by trained personnel. This is accompanied by an increased use of inexpensive transportation modes such as walking and own bicycle to delivery places. Weak evidence is also found for reduced degree of selective infant survival. New community-level clinics, on the other hand, increase regular antenatal care usage and reduce complications during delivery. These results suggest that accessible clinics help pregnant mothers to avoid preventable problems through early diagnosis of risky cases and/or treatment of existing diseases. Overall, these findings underscore the importance of providing good access to health facilities, in particular to community-level clinics, in order to promote the utilization of maternal care and improve maternal and infant health.

We present a new method to evaluate the impression of paintings, in terms of a mathematical modeling and quantitative assessments of impression in western painting. The present method is based on a detailed modeling of various factors and elements that consist of the composition of the painting. Impressions of 20 subject-people for 50 paintings are measured using the semantic differential method, which are compared to the impressions calculated with the present method. Their correlation is analyzed with Akaike's Information Criterion (AIC) standard. A strong correlation is obtained.

本稿では商品の属性値抽出タスクにおけるエラー分析のひとつの事例研究について報告する.具体的には,属性-属性値辞書を用いた単純な辞書マッチに基づく属性値抽出システムを構築し,人手により属性値がアノテーションされたコーパスに対してシステムを適用することで明らかとなる誤り事例の分析を行った.エラー分析は実際のオンラインショッピングサイトで用いられている5つの商品カテゴリから無作為に抽出した100商品ページに対して行った.ここでは誤り事例の多かった2つのエラータイプを挙げ,このような誤りをなくすために必要な処理について述べる.

第 67 回デジタルドキュメント研究会にて、ページ記述言語 PostScript における標準的な字形指定番号である Adobe CID から、TrueType フォントのグリフへのマッピング方法について発表した。アドホックなマッピング情報を持たないよう、PostScript 資源として提供されている情報のみでマッピングを決定しようとすれば、テーブル構築の際に 0.5~3 秒程度の遅延が発生することを示した。この負荷はラスタ処理が数十秒から数分におよび高解像度の印刷の場合には無視できるが、モニタ表示の観点では問題となる。この負荷は PostScript 資源をフォントごとに読み込んでマッピングを構築するためと考えられるので、PostScript 資源ではなく、近年普及が進みつつある TrueType フォントの UVS サポートを用いて、このマッピング処理を高速化する方法について検討する。
2 0 0 0 OA 構造的な事前情報を用いた機械学習:構造正則化と劣モジュラ性
高度な知能情報処理を実現するための理論/アルゴリズム体系である機械学習は,近年ますますその重要性を増す研究分野の一つである.本解説では,データや学習問題に内在する離散的な構造情報を用いた学習の枠組みである,構造正則化学習について述べる.ここでいう離散的な構造とは,例えばデータ変数上のグラフ構造やグループ構造,または階層構造といったものを指す.本解説では,機械学習における一般的枠組みである正則化学習について述べた後,ここに構造を組み込む方法について説明する.また,正則化学習は最終的に最適化へと帰着されるが,その効率的な計算のためには,構造が持つ凸性との関係を利用する事が有用となる.本解説では,その基本的な考え方についても説明を行う.
