A novel measurement method for evaluating hydrogen solubility in water is developed Purified water is exposed to high-pressure hydrogen in a gas-liquid equilibrium cell of approximately 100 cc, and than gaseous component in the water sample of approximately 10 cc is analyzed with quadruple mass spectrometry. The purpose of this study is to establish hydrogen solubility data in water up to 29 MPa and to 75 ℃. Preliminary measurements under low pressure (up to 1 MPa) show that the deviation of measured solubility lies within the range of the estimated uncertainty of measurement. We reveal that the measurement uncertainty of the present method highly depends on the background intensity for hydrogen in the mass spectrometry.

It is well known that the antirachitic activity of sunlight is due to the photochemical conversion of 7-dehydrocholesterol as provitamin D_3 to vitamin D_3 via previtamin D_3 in skin exposed to ultraviolet rays in sunlight (Dorno ray). On the other hand, it is documented that the major circulating metabolite of vitamin D in the plasma is 25-hydroxyvitamin D (25-OH-D) of which concentration directly reflects the repletion status of vitamin D nutrition. Therefore, we assayed the concentrations of 25-OH-D_2 and 25-OH-D_3 in the plasma samples obtained from about 1000 subjects including adults, mothers, infants and children. The mean and standard deviation of the assayed values of endogenous 25-OH-D_3 in the plasma of healthy adults was 23.0±10.1 ng/ml, which clearly showed the seasonal variation that the levels in summer were significantly higher than those in winter. On the other hand, the levels of mothers were about two times higher than the respective data of newborn infants and there was a highly significant correlation between mothers and newborns. On the basis of these data, the nutritional problems of vitamin D are discussed in this review.

The Great Hanshin-Awaji Earthquake Disaster gave us many lessons learned in relation to emergency responses by public sector. After the Quake, the Basic Plan for Disaster Prevention, which was editted by the Central Disaster Prevention Council, was revised twice. And also, almost all prefectural disaster prevention plans were revised or have been revising. In this paper, we try to evaluate prefectural disaster prevention plans before and after the Great Hanshin-Aawaji Earthquake Disaster. Some conclusions of this study are as follows : ・Contents of prefectural disaster prevention plans were enriched remarkablely. ・Response for person who need emergency help was planed by almost all prefectures. ・Almost all prefectures are not yet ready to accept emergency aid from foriegn countries.

和三盆糖廃糖蜜中の非透析性色素から得られた褐変色素を精製して次の結果を得た.<br> 1) 透析,DEAE-celluloseカラムクロマトグラフィーで9分画の色素F1~F9に分画し,さらにSephadex G-75によってタンパク質,多糖類を除去して精製した.メラノイジンはSephadex G-75で再クロマトグラフィーの結果,フェノール-硫酸,Lowry-Folin,および440nmの比色の結果,ほぼ同一クロマドパダーンを示したことから精製は十分であると考えられた.なおF2~F8はレダクトン陰性であった.<br> 2) 和三盆糖廃糖蜜め各色素F1~F8を塩酸で加水分解するとグルコース,フラクトース,キシローズ,アラビノース,ガラククトースを得たが,廃糖蜜中の遊離糖はシュークロース,グルコース,フラクトースであった.和三盆糖廃糖蜜の各色素F1~F8の塩酸加水分解で得られたアミノ酸は含量の多い順にグルタミン,アンモニア,アスパラギン酸で,廃糖蜜中の遊離アミノ酸は,アスパラギン,アスパラギン酸,アラニンでそのパターンはアミノ酸,糖ともかなり相違したものとなった.<br> 3) FITC-Dextran 3, Dextran T-10, Dextran T-20を標準物質としてSephadex G-75により測定した廃糖蜜の各色素F1~F8の推定分子量は,F1=9000, F6=14,000, F2=16,000, F4=18,500, F5=19,500, F3, F8=24,000, F7=29,000,となった.<br> 4) IR, ESRの吸収パターンはF2~F.8ともよく似ていた.醤油等のメラノイジンパターンともほぼ同じであった.<br> 5) log moleculer wefightとlog 0.33%1cmE<sub>440</sub>nmの間にほぼ直線関係が見られたが,分子量の大きいものが必ずしも濃色とならなかった.

爾来声明の旋律は仏家の頗る重視する所で、門外漢の容易に近寄り難いものとされて居るので、之を洋式五線譜に記して普及せしめるなどと云うことは思ひも寄らなかつた。然るに大正年間に東京芝増上寺内安養院の千葉満定師は深く之を惜み、一般希望者に対し常に声明の講習を行って居たが、苦辛の末之を洋式五線譜に移し、大正十三年九月に「礼讃声明譜」として一冊の秩入折本として売出した。出版所は浄土教報社である。之れには千葉氏の他に津田徳成、堀井慶雅の両師も其編纂に参加し、之を宮内省楽師東儀俊鶉氏に校閲を依頼してある。之は凡て浄土宗声明であるが、余りに西洋的な考へに捉はれ過ぎて居て、無理に四拍子に納めようとしてあるのは声明の実体に遠ざかつて居る。寧ろグレゴリオ聖歌式に拍子を切らずに置いた方がよいのではないかと思う。然し兎に角卒先して難解の声明を五線譜にした功績は賞すべきである。

rGyal tshab Dar ma rin chen (1364–1432) is the one of the main disciples of rJe Tsong kha pa (1357–1419), the founder of the dGe lugs pa. The fundamental doctrine of the dGe lugs pa was established mainly by so-called rJe yab sras gsum, i.e., rJe Tsong kha pa, rGyal tshab Dar ma rin chen, and mKhas grub dGe legs dpal bzang (1385–1438). Among them, Dar ma rin chen is famous for his writings on pramāṇa/tshad ma, especially for his commentary on Pramāṇavārttika, named rNam bshad thar lam gsal byed, which has been regarded as one of the most standard and authoritative texts in the dGe lugs pa's pramāṇa tradition. In this small essay, I will focus on his interpretation on the definition of pramāṇa which is found in Thar lam gsal byed and rNam nges dar ṭik, his detailed commentary on Pramāṇaviniścaya. We can find his explanation of the definition of pramāṇa in Thar lam gsal byed pp. 340.18–350.14, the commentary on PV II. 1–6, and in rNam nges dar ṭik pp. 19.5–55.1, the commentary on the passage of PVin I. (Skt.) p. 1.10: na hy ābhyām arthaṃ paricchidya pravartamāno 'rthakriyāyāṃ visaṃ vādyate. The point is how to interpret these two definitions, i.e., avisaṃvādakatva shown in PV II. 1a and ajñātārthaprakāśakatva shown in PV II. 5c. On these two definitions, as indicated by Sa paṇin his Tshad ma rigs gter, Indian commentators, Devendrabuddhi, Prajñākaragupta and Dharmottara, made different interpretations, and Tibetan scholars developed this argument in more detailed and enlarged ways. Dar ma rin chen obviously kept this argument in mind when he explained the definition of pramāṇa. My analysis of these two texts composed by Dar ma rin chen leads to the following conclusions: 1. Dar ma rin chen regards "gsar du mi slu ba'i shes pa (a newly [understanding and] non-belying knowledge)" as the definition of pramāṇa. This definition is the combination of the two definitions, avisaṃvādakatva and ajñātārthaprakāśakatva. However, it is noteworthy that he explained avisaṃvādakatva as "ngo bo (*svarūpa, nature)" of pramāṇa, and ajñātārthaprakāśakatva as "khyad par (*viśeṣaṇa, restriction)". That means that he stressed on avisaṃvādakatva as the main nature of pramāṇa, not ajñāntārthaprakāśakatva. Therefore we can conclude that Dar ma rin chen regarded the non-belying knowledge restricted by novelty as the definition of pramāṇa. This interpretation has been widely accepted as the standard definition of pramāṇa in the dGe lugs pa monasteries. 2. According to Dar ma rin chen, PV II. 1a shows the complete definition of pramāa, not a part of it, although it shows avisaṃvādakatva alone in a direct way. That means, he recognized that PV II. 1a also includes ajñātārthaprakāśakatva, another part of the definition, in an indirect way. 3. The necessity of the restriction of ajñātārthaprakāśakatva is to exclude bcad shes (re-understanding knowledge).
