本研究は情動を引き起こす触覚体験の単位要素の同定および情動を引き起こす触覚体験に必要な触覚ディスプレイの設計論構築を行った.応用事例として,音響スピーカを用いた触覚提示装置,鉛筆削りを模した触覚提示装置,笑い増幅器,音響コンテンツに合わせた耳触覚,歯磨き振動変調による心地よさ増幅,立毛による驚き感覚の増幅,擬似心拍の提示による親近感の増幅を行い,さらに触聴覚間の和音の存在を明らかにした

Removal of ribosomal RNAs(rRNA) from total RNA in eggs before preparation of a RNA library is required for the analysis of maternal mRNA using next-generarion sequencing ; this mRNA is essential for normal development. In mammals, the rRNA-depletion method is well-established and is already being used for the development of experiment kits. However, this method is not designed for other species, e.g., non-model organisms. In the current study, we attempted to remove rRNA from total RNA of Japanese eel Anguilla japonica, which is one of the most important aquaculture species in Japan. Removal was performed via hibridization-selection using mammalian probes from a commmercially available kit and/or an ordinally designed eel probe. Quantitative polymerase chain reaction(PCR) was performed to examine the depletion efficiency of 18S rRNA and 28S rRNA were comparative between each method, and >98% depletion was achieved. In addition, RNA-sequencing analysis using a next-generation sequencer and read-mapping analysis were carried out using the rRNA-depleted RNA, which was prepared using a mammalian probe, and mapping analysis revealed that rRNA reads were <1% of the total reads. These results suggest that an rRNA-depletion kit designed for a mammal can also be used for fish species.

This study investigated the relation between working conditions, in terms of physical and psychological demand, and upper-limb and neck musculoskeletal disorders (ULNMD) in female staff working in direct contact with the elderly in nursing homes. A cross-sectional survey was conducted in 105 nursing homes in France. Data on nursing-home working conditions were collected by questionnaire from occupational physicians and by self-administered questionnaire from staff. Psychosocial demand at work was assessed on Siegrist’s questionnaire and ULNMD on the Nordic questionnaire. 2,328 employees were included: 628 housekeepers, 1,372 nursing assistants and 328 nurses. During the previous 12 months, 50% of the subjects (1,160) had presented with a musculoskeletal complaint concerning the neck, 38% (881) the shoulders, 10% (246) the elbows and 22% (520) the wrists. 9% (219) reported effort/reward imbalance on the 2004 Siegrist questionnaire and 42% were in a situation of over-commitment. ULNMD complaints were associated not only with physical occupational factors but also with psychosocial factors (effort/reward imbalance and over-commitment), both before and after adjustment on individual and occupational factors. Prospective studies are needed to clarify the causal role of occupational, including, organizational, psychosocial factors in ULNMD outcomes. Preventive approaches should take account of both physical and psychosocial occupational factors.

多毛症(hirsutism)はアンドロゲン〔DHEA-(S), androstenedione, testosterone〕の過剰又は末梢でのアンドロゲン感受性の増大により,女性が男性性毛を生じる事を言い,その背景には重篤な疾患を含め,多くの疾患が存在する事が明らかにされつつある.その病因を解明し診断法を確立する事は,その治療法の選択の上からも極めて重要である.各種ステロイドホルモンのRIAの確立に伴う成人多毛症の病因,診断治療の最近の進歩について概説する.

Reproductive interference (RI) refers to negative interspecific interactions in which the reproductive activities of one species directly reduce the reproductive success of another species. RI can be observed in various events in plant reproductive processes, such as stigma clogging and pollen allelopathy. The most conspicuous feature of RI is its positive frequency dependence and its self-reinforcing impact via positive feedback: when two species exert RI on one another, the more abundant species exerts a more intense adverse effect on the reproductive success of the other and then becomes more abundant. Therefore, two species that exert RI on each other essentially cannot co-exist, even if the interfering effect is subtle. Increasing numbers of studies have verified the effects of RI in plants, but the phenomenon is still misunderstood. Here, we present a theoretical outline of RI, discriminating it from hybridization or pollen competition, and address its pivotal importance in the relationships between invasive plants and native relatives, the exclusive distributions of closely related species, and character displacement between these species.
