People always concern about what they have and what they might lose even it is just imaginary property. According to Prospect Theory, the losses might be weighted by subjects higher than gain, which would cause the disparity between the willingness to accept (WTA) and willingness to pay (WTP) compensation in economic valuation. Using functional MRI, we investigated neural correlates of this inconsistent value estimation, known as the endowment effect, during a simple pricing task without economic transaction. Brain activation associated with this price discrepancy was observed in the right inferior frontal gyrus (IFG), where voxel-based morphometry of MRI revealed the positive correlation between gray matter concentration and WTA/WTP ratio. These findings suggest the functional relevance of IFG in WTA/WTP discrepancy for pricing without any actual gain and loss, where an integration of loss aversion-related signals from insula and expected value signals may occur.

本セッションは、地球化学的手法による地震研究(地震化学)の一分野と考えられる。地震化学は、地震の短期予知に有望な手法として、文部省測地学審議会の建議「第三次地震予知計画の一部見直しについて」(1975年)で取り上げられ、以降、組織的に研究されるようになった。「地震化学の日本におけるスタートは1975年前後であり、1990年代後半には勢いを失い低迷期に入った。」というのが、ほぼ同時期に若手研究者として地震化学と取り組んだ筆者の見解である。したがって、筆者にとっては、本セッションは新生「地震化学」である。その出発に当たり、過去の日本における地震化学研究のレビューを行い、近年の地震研究も考慮して今後を展望する。

カンキツトリステザウイルス(CTV)は,カンキツに重大な被害を引き起こす重要病害の一つである.カンキツ属との交雑が可能であるカラタチ[<i>Poncirus trifoliata</i>(L.)Raf.]は,広範な CTV の系統に対して抵抗性を示す.これまでに,カラタチの CTV 抵抗性をカンキツ属に導入するために育種計画が実行され,中間母本が育成されたことで,経済品種の作出に道が開かれてきた.本研究では,マーカー選抜により効率的に CTV 抵抗性をカンキツ属に導入できるように,CTV 抵抗性に連鎖した 4 つの DNA 選抜マーカーおよび各連鎖群上のカラタチの対立遺伝子を識別する 46 のマーカーを開発した.CTV 抵抗性連鎖マーカー 4 つのうち,1 つは共優性マーカーである Single Nucleotide Polymorphism マーカーで,3 つは優性マーカーの Sequence Tagged Site マーカーであった.これら全てのマーカーで,2.8%の例外を除き,後代における CTV 抵抗性・感受性とマーカーの有無とが一致した.さらに,これらのマーカーは高度にカラタチ特異的であり,検定したカンキツ属 35 の全品種・系統に対して適応可能であった.カラタチ由来の対立遺伝子を排除するための判別マーカーでは,46 のうち 9 マーカーが CTV 抵抗性の座乗する第 2 連鎖群に位置した.また,他の 31 マーカーを残りの 8 連鎖群におくことができた.これらのマーカーは,カンキツ属 35 品種・系統のうち少なくとも 1 つ以上の品種・系統に対し,カラタチ由来の対立遺伝子を識別することができた.本研究で開発されたプライマーセットは,戻し交雑により CTV 抵抗性を様々なカンキツ属系統に導入するためのマーカー選抜に利用可能と考えられた.<br>

We have already developed an embodied communication system with the pupil response and demonstrated that the pupil response plays an important role in realizing smooth human interaction and communication. Therefore, the pupil response has possibilities to enhance a sharing of empathy and to convey rich affects such as a pleasure with laugh. Hence, in order to develop communication systems which enhance empathy, it is desired to design the media representation of pupil response. In this paper, focusing on the laugh with pleasure emotion as a typical pleasure affect, we analyzed the relation between laugh and pupil response using a pupil measurement device, and developed a pupil response system for inducing empathy by laugh response based on speech input. In addition, we evaluated the pupil response with the laugh by using the developed system. The results demonstrated that the dilated pupil response with the laugh is effective for enhancing empathy.
