6 cases of lingua nigra in lepromatous patients were observed since March, 1954. 4 of them were male and the rest female, the age ranging from 24-52.<br>In every case, the dorsal surface of the tongue was black or dark gray, suggesting of the wet rat skin. The patients tasted astringent, but severe pain was not complained. The upper half area of papillae filiformes was found minutely keratinized. The lesion spread from the anterior part of papillae circumvallatae to the whole dorsal surface of the tongue, and was smaller nearer to the lip and disappeared, leaving intact one or two thirds of the tongue tip area. No pain was complained when this hairy body was pulled by a pincette, but the loss of taste sense was recognized.<br>Blood, urine and bacterial examinations and syphilitic reactions revealed no distinct findings. Treatments of rinsing with 2% boracic acid, 0.2% acriflavin solution, application of caustic silver and curettage produced favorable effects upon all cases from 1 to 4 weeks.<br>This lingua nigra appeared after extraction of teeth or after treatment of the teeth duct of the lower jaw.<br>We will try to carry out clinical experiments and investigate the mechanisms.

In the early 19th century, Westerners such as William Chambers, George Macartney,and Thomas De Quincey encountered the Orient with feelings of surprise, interest, difference,and displeasure. Edward W. Said mentions in Orientalism (1978) that the Orient is the image ofthe other that repeatedly appears in the depth of the mind of the West (1). "Kubla Khan"displays a polarity of images conveying Coleridge's ambiguous feelings toward the Orient.Coleridge uses his theory of polarity in his representations of the Orient. This theory statesthat the oppositions between polar extremes compete with each other, thereby maintaining abalance. This paper argues that representations of the Orient that include opposite images aremostly balanced with precarious elements. These precarious elements express the true natureof Coleridge's ambiguous feelings for the Orient.This paper divides" Kubla Khan" into five parts: the river Alph (lines 1–11 and 25–30),chasm (lines 12–24), pleasure dome (lines 31–36), Abyssinian maid (lines 37–47), and society (lines48–54). It considers how each aspect of the Orient depicted therein exemplifies theprecariousness included in Coleridge's theory of polarity. The Orient was an imaginary worldfor Coleridge, who had not seen it and had only read books or heard talks about it. Thus, it is anon-existential thing or an unknown world that is not easily accepted but cannot be ignoredand evokes various feelings. Therefore, the balance of ambiguous feelings for the OrientinColeridge's mind cannot avoid instability and lacks permanence.

Since 2002 in China, drastic change has occurred in the field of moral education and social studies, wherenew subject is arranged and its contents are correlated and integrated. I have been a chief leader of this innovative movement in Shanghai, as a chief editor of new textbooks. This paper displays conceptions of "citizen ship education" and its "public mind or moral" which are represented in the new textbooks. In editing the new textbooks, such many issues were reexamined, as conflict and dilemma between current democratic idea of citizenship and traditional idea of convenient moral, confusion between new trend of human right and dominant political consciousness, destruction of public moral under marketing economy and so on.Through deliberation of these complicated issues for the editing process, the new textbook challenges to present a new vision based upon public philosophy, which should be empower and enrich "citizenship" in the real educational context.

本論文では,大規模な知識を有する電子辞書を利用し,認知心理学に基づく比喩による文章作成支援システムを提案する.比喩は,言語による情報伝達のみでなく,我々の思考や概念化,記憶などの認知過程にも深くかかわっていることが広く認識されている.また,自然言語処理の観点から,比喩研究の成果から反映できる技術やモデルは,応用範囲が広いと考えられている.一方,従来のコンピュータを利用した比喩研究は比喩理解に関する研究が多く,使用する知識ベースの獲得にも大きな問題があった.認知心理学においては,比喩の処理過程には情緒・感覚的類似性やカテゴリ的類似性,修飾語との共起関係の強さが比喩の生成に大きな影響を与えるといわれている.そこで,本論文ではこれらの概念が工学的に導入された,電子辞書を用いた比喩による文章作成支援システムを提案する.提案システムでは,情緒・感覚的類似度,カテゴリ的類似度,共起度の3点を満たした比喩度と呼ばれる概念を導入し,柔軟な比喩の計算を行う.また,知識ベースとして大規模な知識を有するEDR電子化辞書を利用している.さらに,発散的思考支援ツールとしての立場に立ち,文章作成支援システムという形で,実際にユーザが使用できるシステムを実装している.詳細な評価実験により,提案システムの有効性が確認されている.
